NWA Pro Wrestling Report for 1/1/08

NWA Pro Wrestling Report for 1/1/2008

Happy New Year to all our fans! Hopefully 2008 will be even more exciting than 2007 was. In 2007 NWA Pro Wrestling and its family of co-promoters produced 130 live events featuring over 500 different in-ring talents. Our parent organization, the National Wrestling Alliance, presented approximately 450 live events worldwide with over 1,500 men and women competing in NWA sanctioned matches. Our plans for this year should see even more action and excitement for our loyal fans and hopefully an influx of new fans. Stay tuned folks, the best is yet to come!

After running 12 major arena events in 2007, we are anxiously awaiting being able to announce our 2008 schedule that will include both return trips and new voyages. 2008 will also see the addition of both national and international promotions to both the NWA and the NWA Pro Wrestling family. Negotiations are on-going and when information can be made official, we will do so. Don't forget to check out both www.nwawrestling.com and www.myspace.com/nwapro for all the latest news!

NWA Wrestling Showcase Set For Colours TV Debut!
The wait is over and this January will see the National Wrestling Alliance return to national television on the Dish Network for the Colours TV. If you are interested in being in the audience at the bi-weekly tapings at the Plaza Hotel & Casino in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, please call 1-800-619-9496 for ticket info and 1-800-634-6575 for info on rooms!

Monday Night Wrestling Coming To Australian TV!
Loyal fans in Perth, Western Australia have had a great run of late. First their year-end event "Re-Awakening" tore down the Venville Rec Centre. Then the NWA international tour set Challenge Stadium on fire. Now they can tune into Channel 31 every Monday Night for the best in Australian wrestling! More information can be found at www.mondaynightwrestling.com/au and on the EPW-Perth website at www.epwperth.com.

New NWA Pro Training School Opens In San Bernardino!
EWF's School of Hard Knocks, one of the premier training facilities anywhere in wrestling became even more renown last year when they joined forces with NWA Pro Wrestling. With classes for any and every skill level, wrestlers from all over the country made their way to San Bernardino to train under Jesse Hernandez, Rocky Romero, T.J. Perkins and the rest of the staff. To meet the demands of the multitudes of trainees, the decision was made to partner with the American Sports University in downtown San Bernardino. With facilities second to none, EWF and NWA Pro Wrestling are excited about the possibilities for 2008. Interested in becoming a professional wrestler or are you an existing wrestler looking for advanced training? Contact www.empirewrestlingfederation.com.

Copa de Lucha & Fiesta Lucha DVDs Available Now!
Two of the biggest events in recent NWA history are now available on DVD from our friends at Big Vision Entertainment. These spectaculars both originated from the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas, NV and feature the best in international action including the Copa de Lucha tournament and the King of the Summit Battle Royal. Plus each DVD features stars such as current NWA World Heavyweight Champion "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce and current NWA World Tag Team Champions Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson & Joey Ryan, Sean "Syxx-Pac" Waltman, El Hijo del Santo, Konnan, Rey Misterio Sr., Billy Kidman, LA Park, Colt Cabana, Super Parka, Nicho el Millionario, Human Tornado, Black Tiger IV, Frankie Kazarian, Los Luchas (Phoenix Star y Zokre) and more! For ordering information check out www.bvdvd.com.

NWA Pro Wrestling's Co-Promotions Are Thriving!
Throughout the country and down under in Australia the family of NWA Pro Wrestling co-promotions are thriving and looking forward to even bigger and better days in 2008! Here is a look at how our sister-promotions are doing:

Alternative Wrestling Show
This past December saw the 1st Anniversary of the new AWS Shop across the street from the Frank 'N' Sons Collectibles Show. In addition to meeting all your wrestling merchandise needs, AWS Kingpin Bart Kapitzke continues to provide all your wrestling action needs as well. From Cage Matches and 60-Man Battle Royals to World Heavyweight and World Tag Title Matches, from Minis and Women's Matches to everything in between – 2007 has been another amazing year of wrestling in the City of Industry. 2008 promises to build on the legacy that AWS has rightfully earned.

Empire Wrestling Federation
Speaking of legacy, no current Southern California wrestling promotion has more history than the 11-year old EWF. With their bi-monthly events in Covina as well as stops in San Bernardino, Colton, Ventura, Riverside, Los Angeles, Huntingtin Beach, Yucaipa & El Monte as well as trip over to Phoenix, AZ, the 38 EWF events 2007 represented their busiest year in some time. A proving ground for veterans and the home of opportunity for rookies and young wrestlers alike, the Empire Wrestling Federation is a huge part of what makes NWA Pro Wrestling the success that it is!

Ultra Championship Wrestling-Zero
One of the biggest additions to the NWA Pro family last year was the Salt Lake City based UCW-Zero. With a roster full of young and talented wrestlers anxious to prove themselves, the fans in Utah were not disappointed. Last November even saw an event that featured every match taking place inside a steel cage. Plans are underway to make this year even bigger and better.

Rising Phoenix Wrestling
Over in the Arizona son, there is a new day breaking as the two major Phoenix based organizations – NWA Pro's Rising Phoenix Wrestling and Impact Zone Wrestling have come to a working agreement. On January 5th their first event together will see the IZW and NWA Arizona Heavyweight and Tag Team Championships on the line in title vs. title matches. As we have seen here in California, local organizations working means nothing but more exciting action for the fans. 2008 should be a great one in Arizona!

NWA Pro Wrestling East
The hottest action on the East Coast returns February 2nd at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Lodi, NJ. With monthly events scheduled throughout the year in Lodi as well as additional shows planned for Newark and elsewhere, there is no doubt that 2008 will be a great year in the Garden State!

Explosive Pro Wrestling – Perth
EPW's growth continues! Last year saw the creation of a second organization in South Australia and 2008 will see the Perth boys taking the show on the road. The first show will be aptly titled "Roadshow" as the action goes from the regular venues in Maylands and Venville and arrives in Craigie at the Craigie Rec Centre on January 19th. Then on February 16th it's back home to the Venville Rec Center for "Gold Rush." Look for another exciting year in Western Australia.

Explosive Pro Wrestling – Adelaide
EPW-Adeliade's 1 Year Anniversary Event in December posed a problem. A wonderful, beautiful problem. How can they fit more people in Cosgrove Hall? After only one year, EPW-Adelaide crowds had become standing room only! Plans are underway to squeeze more seating in as the action returns on February 9th with "New Beginnings" featuring all the top stars of South Adelaide. If year one saw them sell out the building, year two is not something to miss!

Plus…
High Risk Wrestling will be back! HRW officials have confirmed that an announcement will be made shortly regarding the imminent return of Victorville's favorite sons! Plus, our friends at Viva La Lucha have something up their sleeves that should make 2008 very interesting for all SoCal lucha fans. All this and much, much more promise to make this year the biggest and best one yet!

We hope to see you out at the shows! Here is the current list of January thru March NWA Pro Wrestling events. Don't forget to check out www.myspace.com/nwapro for the latest results as well as changes and additions to our calendar.
