Heidi Fleiss opening Whorehouse to "service" women
Current mood: jubilant
Category: Parties and Nightlife

Heidi Fleiss plans 'stud farm'

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AP) -- Former "Hollywood Madam" Heidi Fleiss says she's bound for a brothel in the southern Nevada desert that she wants to help remake into a resort featuring male prostitutes serving female customers.

"I am moving to Crystal," Fleiss said Wednesday of a desert crossroads 20 miles north of Pahrump and about 80 miles outside Las Vegas. It features two bordellos and little else.

"I am opening up a stud farm," Fleiss declared from her Hollywood home overlooking the Sunset Strip. "I am going to have the sexiest men on earth. Women are going to love it."

Joe Richards, who owns the Cherry Patch Ranch and Mabel's Ranch in Crystal, said he sent a "courtesy" letter Tuesday to inform the Nye County Commission that Fleiss will work for him.

"She's going to be madam hostess of Cherry Patch Ranch," Richards told The Associated Press by telephone. He called her an employee rather than a partner.

There's one possible problem, though. County Sheriff Tony DeMeo said that because Fleiss is a convicted felon, she could be banned from the county's legal sex trade. DeMeo sits with the five county commissioners on a six-member brothel licensing board.

Fleiss, 39, was released from a California prison in 1999 after serving 21 months for money laundering, tax evasion and attempted pandering.

Fleiss was convicted in 1995 of running a prostitution ring in which models-turned-prostitutes were flown around the world to meet wealthy actors and clients who paid as much as $10,000 for a single meeting.

DeMeo said he'd heard several reports in his three years as sheriff about Fleiss' plans, including a failed proposal by an Australian firm that hired Fleiss in 2003 to promote a 50-room brothel-hotel.

"This is different," Fleiss insisted Wednesday, describing movers packing her belongings and her plan to arrive in Nevada later this week. "I'm moving."

Nye County is among 10 rural Nevada counties in which prostitution is legal under county and state oversight. Prostitution is illegal in Clark County surrounding Las Vegas, and Washoe County around Reno.

NFL Cheerleaders have sex in bar
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

Cheerleaders Had Sex in Bar, Witnesses Say

Two Carolina Panthers cheerleaders were charged after their arrest at a bar where witnesses told police the women had sex in a restroom.

Renee Thomas, 20, of Pittsboro, N.C., and Angela Keathley, 26, of Belmont, N.C., were taken to Hillsborough County Jail early Sunday.

Witnesses said the women were having sex in a stall with each other, angering patrons waiting in line to get into the restroom at the club in the Channelside district.

Thomas was charged with battery Sunday after allegedly striking a bar patron when she was leaving the restroom, then landed in even more trouble after police said she gave officers a driver's license belonging to another Panthers cheerleader who was not in Tampa.

Thomas, who made the trip to Florida for Sunday's game between the Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was released from jail on $500 bail before police learned she was not the person she claimed to be.

Providing police with a false name is a misdemeanor. However, Thomas was charged Monday with giving a false name and causing harm to another — a third-degree felony punishable by probation or a jail term of 1 to 5 years, said police spokeswoman Laura McElroy.

Meanwhile, detectives are trying to determine how Thomas gained possession of the driver's license of the third cheerleader.

Keathley, charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, was released on $750 bail about an hour before the Panthers played the Bucs at Raymond James Stadium. The cheerleaders were not in town to perform at the game.

Panthers cheerleaders booted for indiscretion

TAMPA, Fla. Two Carolina Panthers cheerleaders have been kicked off the team after their arrest over the weekend.
The women were having sex with each other in a bathroom stall of a bar early Sunday, angering some patrons who were waiting in line.

Rene Thomas is facing a battery charge for striking a bar patron and for giving a false name to the police.

Angela Keathly was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

The Panthers were in town to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but the Carolina cheerleading squad did not take part in the game.

However, team spokesman Charlie Dayton says the women were removed from the squad for violating an agreement not to embarrass the team or the organization.

Adult Magazine Courts Panthers Cheerleaders

Tue Nov 8,12:38 PM ET

A popular adult magazine has made an offer to the two cheerleaders accused of having sex with each other in a Florida bar and getting involved in a fight, according to a Local 6 News report.

Penthouse magazine is courting Renee Thomas, 22, and Angela Keathley, 26, to pose nude, according to the report.

Penthouse is apparently hoping to cash in on what allegedly happened inside the Florida bar's bathroom stall.

The woman were having sex with each other in the restroom, according to witnesses.

Witnesses told police a fight broke out after bar patrons complained the women were having sex in a restroom.

Police said Thomas was charged with battery after allegedly striking a bar patron when she was leaving the restroom. Police said she also gave officers a driver's license belonging to another Panthers cheerleader who wasn't in Tampa.

Detectives are trying to find out why Thomas had the driver's license of the third cheerleader.

A team spokesman says the women violated a rule that bans conduct that's embarrassing to the team or organization.

A spokesman for the Carolina Panthers said the two cheerleaders who were charged in Tampa have been kicked off the team.

A Penthouse representative said the magazine will likely have an offer to the women in writing Tuesday, according to a report. Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.

Iron Maiden is gonna get you Sharon !!!
Current mood: angry

OZZFEST, Hang Your Head In Shame: The Backstage Perspective - Aug. 22, 2005

The manager of a well-known heavy metal band who attended this past weekend's Ozzfest show at the Hyundai Pavillion in Devore, California has submitted the following first-hand account of the evening that will surely go down as one of the most shameful moments in recent rock history (NOTE: at his request, the author's identity is being protected by BLABBERMOUTH.NET):

"Saturday night's Ozzfest at the Hyundai Pavillion near Los Angeles was a debacle on so many levels, I am still in shock as I write this. As a fan of many of the bands [Saturday] night, one can only hope this was an isolated incident, but sadly, it most likely wasn't. As many of you have heard already, co-headliners and metal legends IRON MAIDEN were pelted with eggs, bottle caps, beer cups, spit on, had people from the Ozzfest camp talking over the PA during their set, had 'Eddie' delayed from his onstage entrance, had members of the [BLACK LABEL SOCIETY] entourage rush the stage with American flags, and had the PA intentionally turned off over 6 times, all by the OSBOURNE CAMP.

"While it's still unclear as to the exact reasons why the terrorizing started (rumors abounded as to why, with everything from Bruce calling out Ozzy in the U.K. rock magazine Kerrang! on the widely known fact that Ozzy uses a teleprompter, to various vague references said on stage about a 'reality show' at an Ozzfest stop in Detroit), one thing was very clear: The whole thing stunk, and left me, and nearly all of the 40,000 heavy metal fans in attendance angered and disappointed. Not that behind the scenes bickering or magazine trash talking is anything new to rock fans, but the shocking lack of professionalism at one of the largest stops in North America in front of 40,000 spectators, at the hand of the Osbournes was nothing short of disgusting.

"It all began early in the afternoon, when many side stage bands were openly approached in clear view of everyone backstage by Sharon and Kelly Osbourne to 'join them in throwing eggs at IRON MAIDEN this evening.' All the bands were encouraged to rally the other side stage bands to do so. Members and/or friends of the hardcore band BURY YOUR DEAD were seen actively trying to encourage other side stage bands to 'join in the fun.' Thankfully, many side stage bands angrily declined.

"Later that evening, as IRON MAIDEN came on stage, their intro was interrupted by [BLACK LABEL SOCIETY] hanger-on and biker wannabe Big Dave, who was at the soundboard loudly chanting 'Ozzy, Ozzy' over the PA. MAIDEN opened their set and the entire band was pelted from the front row with eggs, beer, beer cups, spit, and various other objects by an Ozzfest-credentialed, bandana-wearing, Osbourne entourage. IRON MAIDEN, ever the professionals, continued through their set, and by the time they launched into their second song, 'The Trooper', Bruce changed into a civil war-era, red coat and began waving a Union Jack — British flag. Then, someone in, or associated with, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY tried to rush the stage waving and American Flag with the words 'Don't fuck with Ozzy' scrawled across his bare chest. He was tackled and beaten by MAIDEN crew and promptly thrown off stage.

"As 'The Trooper' ended, frontman Bruce Dickinson, with characteristic spunk, launched into a scathing attack on the people terrorizing his band, calling them 'a sorry excuse for an Ozzy Osbourne fan,' and wondering aloud how, 'three dozen eggs could get snuck into the front row of Ozzfest by people with Ozzfest laminates?' Though he never named names, all in attendance could understand who he was referring to. Nicko McBrain ran up to the front asking Bruce to hold on while he cleaned egg off his drums. He then stated the the next song wouldn't be heard on 'Your local cocksucking corporate radio station, wouldn't be seen on MTV anymore, and sure as hell wouldn't be played on a fucking reality TV show,' met by a huge roar from the crowd.

"During the song 'Hallowed Be Thy Name', Bruce, after only the first two lines, stopped singing and ran to the front row, firing back at his terrorizers, saying 'That asswipe right there, with the curly hair, the fucking glasses, and Ozzfest laminate throw his fucking ass out of here right now. It's gonna take more than eggs to stop IRON MAIDEN, and if it wasn't for a lawsuit, I'd rip your fucking head off right now, you piece of shit!!!!' He had the various attackers ejected and continued with a blistering version of the song until right before the big sing long at the end, the PA was INTENTIONALLY cut off. When it came back, Bruce launched into another scathing attack saying that they were supposed to play a shorter set than normal today, and only play 55 minutes, but IRON MAIDEN can't drive 55, or play 55, and were going to play our whole fucking set tonight.

"The band endured six more 'PA cuts,' including having the power to their amps turned off at one point. When the PA would come back on, they would simply launch into the next IRON MAIDEN classic, never missing a beat. Frankly, with every PA cut, the band just got meaner and meaner, playing each new song with an anger and a fire that was at times, simply astonishing to watch. Bruce began the introduction to IRON MAIDEN with a speech about 'Your constitution has something about 'We The People.' Well let me tell you, the only reason we are up here tolerating this bullshit, is because of you people. You have been amazing Glen Helen, and there are A LOT of IRON MAIDEN fans here tonight,' eliciting a huge roar from the crowd. He continued, 'It's gonna take more than eggs to stop IRON MAIDEN, NOTHING is going to come between us and our fans, and it will be death before dishonor, this is 'Iron fucking Maiden',' which was greeted by a thunderous applause. During 'Iron Maiden', longtime MAIDEN mascot Eddie was purposely delayed from making his entrance, making a brief appearance at the end, and one could only wonder as to how. As the band closed there set with a furious version of 'Sanctuary', the PA was again cut only to have Big Dave repeatedly chant 'Ozzy' over the PA, while the band tried to say goodbye to their fans. The now-furious crowd angrily drowned him out with chants of 'MAIDEN, MAIDEN.'

"Then, not 10 seconds after MAIDEN left the stage, Sharon Osbourne walked on stage and predictably, tried to give MAIDEN some fake, half-hearted praise about how they'd like to 'thank IRON MAIDEN,' and what a wonderful band IRON MAIDEN are, and how their crew were 'fantastic,' then sneering, 'But Bruce Dickinson is a prick.' The entire crowd, now fed up with the entire affair, began loudly booing her, pelting her with beer cups, and yelling 'bitch.' She tried to carry on, adding that 'Bruce had disrespected Ozzfest,' only to be drowned out by an ocean of boos, and soaked with beer. She slammed the microphone down and stormed off stage. Many in the crowd, fed up with what they had just witnessed, especially considering that many had come solely for MAIDEN, and paid upwards of $150 to do so, left in droves. SABBATH played to maybe half the audience that was there prior, and seemed stagnate compared to the band preceding them. As a huge fan of SABBATH, I honestly couldn't stand to watch them.

"I've seen IRON MAIDEN probably 10 times in my life, and frankly this was the very best IRON MAIDEN show I've had the pleasure of witnessing. You DON'T want to fuck with IRON MAIDEN. The more the Osbournes tried to fuck with them, the better they got! IRON MAIDEN was on fucking overdrive! Considering the amount of terrorizing and intimidation that IRON MAIDEN had to deal with at the hands of the Osbournes and the other side stage and main stage bands participating, they were the consummate professionals. They had the crowd in the palms of their hands, and IRON MAIDEN and Bruce Dickinson proved beyond a shadow of a doubt why they are the greatest metal band on earth right now, and quite possibly, the classiest, too.

"The Osbournes are drunk with power. Shame on them, and shame on ANY of the bands that participated in the terrorizing and intimidation. It was disgusting display, that NO BAND should have had to endure, but especially a legend like IRON MAIDEN. That fact that it happened in front of 40,000 people, at a Clear Channel-sponsored event, while Hyundai Pavilion Security turned a blind eye and let the Osbourne camp pelt one of the main headlining bands with eggs, beer, and spit, was simply inexcusable.

"I will proudly be attending next year's MAIDEN fest, and as much as I hate to say it, I can't bring myself to spend another dime on the Osbournes.

"Ozzfest, hang your head in shame."

SHARON OSBOURNE Issues 'Open Letter' To IRON MAIDEN's Manager - Aug. 25, 2005

Sharon Osbourne has issued the following "open letter" to IRON MAIDEN manager Rod Smallwood:

"Rod,

"I found your statement to be completely void of the facts that led up to Saturday's show. Your press release was written like an old-time '80s manager, trying to use every opportunity to try and sell the record and the upcoming shows instead of just dealing with the truth.

"These are the facts:

"You claim to have been in the business for 30 years and have been to hundreds of gigs, but can you tell me how many times you have heard of an opening band talking sh*t about the headliner during their set and getting away with it? Not only is Ozzy the headliner, but he is also the man who is paying your band $185,000 a night. We gave IRON MAIDEN a chance to play to the biggest audiences they have ever played to in the U.S.A. We accommodated them with their stage set and at the band's request we even scoured the audience for people wearing IRON MAIDEN t-shirts and brought them down front during their set to make them feel more comfortable. Tell me, what other headliner would do that? Unfortunately those gestures were completely lost on Bruce Dickinson who for over 20 shows continually berated Ozzy and Ozzfest during his set.

"Over the last 10 years of Ozzfest, we have worked with over 200 bands. None of them were ever disrespectful to Ozzy or any of the other bands on the tour. But for 20 shows we were forced to hear Dickinson's nightly outbursts from the stage: 'When we come back to America, we'll be back with a proper sound system,' or "We won't be playing the same old songs every night (like SABBATH),' 'We don't need a teleprompter (like Ozzy)' and 'We don't need a reality show to be legit (again, like Ozzy).' Night after night we heard his complaints from the stage about how 'corporate' the venues were and how 'outrageous' the ticket prices were. Strangely enough, if you want to get a general admission ticket to stand in a field to see IRON MAIDEN at Reading this weekend it's going to cost you over $120. I would say that's very pricey, wouldn't you?

"When an artist comes on stage and says he's not playing the 55 minutes that he was allotted and that he is going to play for as long as he wants (cutting into SABBATH's set), I'm not going to let that happen. Dickinson was under the delusion that the 46,000 people in San Bernardino had come only to see IRON MAIDEN. He even proclaimed 'This is not the Ozzfest, This is Maidenfest.' I guess no one told him that we have an audience of 45,000 to 53,000 people every year in San Bernardino.

"Here's another fact for you. Bruce Dickinson's own band was embarrassed by him. IRON MAIDEN leader, Steve Harris, even came to Ozzy's dressing room to apologize to Ozzy for Bruce's behavior before MAIDEN took the stage in San Bernardino.

"It's shameful that Dickinson felt he had the right to air his issues publicly onstage every night as a way to boost his own ego. Dickinson never once came up to Ozzy and me to voice any concerns. He certainly had the opportunity to do so every night. If he wasn't able to show us that courtesy then why should I give him the respect to air my grievances with him in private? Ozzy's only interaction with Dickinson was on the first night of the tour. Ozzy, being the true gentleman that he is, passed Bruce in the hall and said 'Good luck and have a great show.' Unfortunately Dickinson felt the need to turn his back to Ozzy and walked away. Frankly, Dickinson got what he deserved. We had to listen to his bullsh*t for five straight weeks. He only had to suffer a couple of eggs on the head.

"On closing, yes, I did cut IRON MAIDEN's sound. This is the way I look at it: Ozzfest is our tour. We built it into something that's lasted 10 years now. We've been responsible for breaking many new bands and resurrecting the careers of former superstars. Part of our success stems from the fact that when a band is on Ozzfest we treat them with nothing but kindness and respect just as if we had invited them into our home. You can ask all of the bands who have been on the tour. They all describe it as the 'ultimate summer camp.' It's like one big family. Unfortunately Dickinson doesn't have the manners to realize that when you are invited into someone's home, are seated at their dinner table, are eating their food and drinking their wine, you shouldn't talk disrespectfully about them (Ozzy, BLACK SABBATH and Ozzfest), otherwise you just might get your ass handed to you. Every action has a reaction. Was Dickinson so naïve to think that I was going to let him get away with talking sh*t about my family night after night? I don't think he realizes who he's dealing with. I will not endure behavior like this from anyone.

"I know you would love to keep talking about this because this is the most press that IRON MAIDEN has had in the U.S. in twenty years, but let's move on, shall we?

"Sincerely,

"The 'Real' Iron Maiden

"Sharon Osbourne"

Iron Maiden fans furious at Sharon Osbourne

OSBOURNES

By Jeannette Walls
MSNBC
Updated: 4:44 p.m. ET Aug. 24, 2005

Some Iron Maiden fans have declared a heavy metal war on Sharon Osbourne. More than a thousand angry fans have signed a petition they plan to send to Ozzy’s wife, with some signers wishing the former reality-show star bodily harm.

The unpleasantness began at an Ozzfest concert in Devore, California over the weekend. When Iron Maiden took the stage, Black Sabbath fans apparently began chanting for Ozzy to appear, with some hurling eggs, bottles and various other items on stage.

Iron Maiden’s lead singer, Bruce Dickinson, told the crowd to break the arms of the hurlers, according to various fans’ reports, and made a snide comment about heavy-metal singers who appear in reality shows. “Technical difficulties” then erupted in Iron Maiden’s show — with lighting and sound going on the fritz; fans of the band blamed the problem on the organizers of Ozzfest. Some also claim that that Kelly Osbourne was one of the eggers, which the Osbourne camp denies.

Sharon Osbourne took the stage afterwards and had kind words for most members of Iron Maiden but reportedly called Dickinson an obscenity and said that he had been disrespectful of Ozzfest since the beginning of the tour.

That has brought out the wrath of Iron Maiden fans. “Sharon and Kelly’s actions towards Bruce and Iron Maiden are despicable at best,” wrote petitioner Michael Swint, one of the calmer of the signers. “It clearly shows how low they are willing to go to upstage an incredible act that were asked by the Osbournes to co-headline and [yet] Maiden are treated with disrespect.”

SHARON OSBOURNE Defends Egg-Throwing Incident:

'A Bit Of Egg Isn't Gonna Spoil A Rock Show' - Aug. 31, 2005

Sharon Osbourne spoke exclusively to Kerrang! magazine (web site) last week (as reported here yesterday) regarding IRON MAIDEN's final performance on this year's Ozzfest tour, during which she cut MAIDEN's power and arranged to have the band pelted with eggs and debris from the crowd. Several more excerpts from the interview follow:

Kerrang!: Reading between the lines of [IRON MAIDEN manager] Rod Smallwood's statement, the unspoken suggestion is that you orchestrated this whole thing...

Sharon Osbourne: "Of course I did. I had the PA turned on and off. And look it's not hard for someone to walk into a diehard Ozzfest crowd and say, 'Who wants to throw an egg at a rock star?' Who wouldn't wanna do that? I went out and bought 50 eggs and me and my daughter had a fucking blast. C'mon, it's rock 'n' roll. No-one died. They'll be waiting a long fucking time for an apology from me."

Kerrang!: Smallwood's statement describes the incident as "dangerous" and "unprofessional"...

Sharon Osbourne: "Well, here's unprofessional for you: our Ozzfest show in San Bernadino is always a big deal. And because it's a special show we wanted to add SLIPKNOT to the bill, which meant that we would have to cut the time from everyone's set so that we wouldn't over-run the curfew. But Monkey Boy (Bruce Dickinson) isn't having it, and so he's onstage going, 'We won't play 55 minutes, fuck that, we're playing 65!' Now that sounds good to the kids out front — they're not gonna understand about a curfew — but of course if IRON MAIDEN plays 10 minutes more, then BLACK SABBATH get 10 minutes less of their show, and I'm not going to have that on our own fucking tour.

"I'd say Bruce Dickinson has been unprofessional in the way he's behaved from day one. He's been complaining that the PA isn't loud enough, complaining about MTV, complaining that my husband does reality shows, complaining about the prices of the tickets, on and on. Fuck him. He didn't even speak to Ozzy once on the whole tour. I mean, Ozzfest ticket prices are expensive but we haven't raised the ticket prices for three years even though, with inflation. All the costs in putting on a show like this rise. If Monkey Boy hated the tour so much why didn't he leave it? I've been paying his wages for four weeks. He didn't seem to have any problem pocketing the $180,000 cheques that me and my husband were writing for the band for every night — that could have stayed in my pocket. Me and my husband built up this tour over 10 years with blood, sweat and tears. I'm not having anyone fuck with that."

Kerrang!: The most astonishing thing about all this is that the metal world has always had such camaraderie, such a "one for all, all for one" attitude...

Sharon Osbourne: "It has, right? But for some reason Bruce Dickinson seemed to view it as a battle of the bands. He'd stand up on that stage and say that this wasn't the Ozzfest anymore, it was MAIDEN-fest. How fucking disrespectful is that? He's got such an '80s mentality. He's up there saying, 'Fuck MTV and fuck radio and you wouldn't catch IRON MAIDEN doing a reality show' and it's like, 'Hang on, you're a shareholder in Sanctuary, which is one of the biggest corporations in the music business.' He's never said a word about SABBATH either, only Ozzy, so it's personal. We've had 220 bands play this tour over the last 10 years and I've never felt the need to egg anyone."

Kerrang!: Did you confront Bruce personally about this?

Sharon Osbourne: "No, I didn't want to give Monkey Boy the satisfaction of thinking that he'd annoyed Ozzy. The truth is that Ozzy never heard a single note of IRON MAIDEN's shows, most nights he wasn't on site when the band took the stage. My husband is a prince. And you know what, he had nothing to do with this. He wouldn't stoop to something like this, but I'm a fucking bitch and I have no problem with it.

"Let's face it, the guy is a failed solo singer who's gone back to his band after his solo career failed. I don't know how many albums his last solo albums old in England but in America it sold 6,000 copies. Every solo album my husband puts out goes platinum. Look, tell you what, you take a picture of my husband and a photo of Monkey Boy down to (London's) Regent Street now and see who people recognize. There's no fucking question, is there? And that's what it boils down to: Jealousy. Bruce Dickinson isn't my husband's peer. There wouldn't be an IRON MAIDEN if there was no SABBATH."

Kerrang!: And you didn't say anything to their management either?

Sharon Osbourne: "No, I have no problem with their management. After we did the first show in Boston, I had an email from Rod Smallwood saying that Bruce was concerned that the front rows of the audience weren't really MAIDEN fans and so I kept a couple of rows of seats clear every night so that we could bring in MAIDEN fans in MAIDEN T-shirts to make the band feel comfortable. I was the mug who did this for four weeks. And then this is how Monkey Boy repays me."

Kerrang!: From the outside it looked like the tour had been quite amicable, particularly as MAIDEN was stepping in to headline when Ozzy had to cancel some appearances...

Sharon Osbourne: "Yes, they were happy to do that when they were given an extra $100,000 a night! We could have had ROB ZOMBIE close the show. MAIDEN are a great band, but the truth is that they have never cracked America, like Ozzy has. At MAIDEN's last two L.A. shows they played to something like 15,000 people over two nights: We gave them a platform to perform to 46,000 people in Los Angeles, and that's a wonderful opportunity. And I knew they were looking forward to it. So I was like, 'Oh, you're really looking forward to being back in L.A., are you?' Well this is where you learn you don't fuck with me..."

Kerrang!: Up to this point you're being painted as the "Wicked Witch" here, Sharon...

Sharon Osbourne: "I'm as nice as can be to people until they fuck with me and my family. I've always said that. I'm surprised that after everything that's been reported about how protective I am of my husband that anyone would even be shocked by this."

Kerrang!: Was there any comment from the MAIDEN camp after the show? It's been reported that Steve Harris apologized...

Sharon Osbourne: "Steve Harris came into apologize to Ozzy before he went onstage and he was lovely. I mean, the band are gentlemen, really down-t-earth, lovely guys. Their singer is just a liability and they can't be responsible for that. He's got a great voice but he's obviously been sucking Ronnie James Dio's cock for singing lessons. He goes on about being a pilot and a swordsman and an author and whatever - does he think he's better than everyone else? If he's such a swordsman maybe he should have fenced the eggs out of his way! I should have thrown bananas..."

Kerrang!: Your daughter Kelly is on Sanctuary Records (owned by MAIDEN's management): Isn't this going to create tension?

Sharon Osbourne: "What, they're gonna drop her because she threw a fucking egg? I don't think so. What's Kelly gonna do, walk up to Monkey Boy and ask for an autograph because he's been such a big influence on her musically? Ask if she can do a duet on 'Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter'? Fuck off."

Kerrang!: Rod Smallwood's statement brings up another point which is that regardless of any personal fueds between the two camps, the people who really suffered where the people who bought tickets for the show.

Sharon Osbourne: "Come on, a bit of egg isn't gonna spoil a rock show for someone standing at the back of a 46,000 strong crowd. Everyone got a show they'll remember for the rest of their lives. If I was at that show I'd want to keep the ticket stub because it'll go down in history."

Kerrang!: Doesn't this kind of incident make you think, 'Fuck it, I just don't need this grief anymore'?

Sharon Osbourne: "No, not at all. Because he's not here anymore so it's fine. He can go back to Chiswick and wash the peanut butter out of his hair and sit in the pub and talk about having a wank. But he'd better watch out that he doesn't run into my son at Reading. Jack would give him one kick in the head and that'd be that. But you know what the irony is? Jack wouldn't know Monkey Boy if he fell over him in the street..."

Kerrang!: Saying things like this could make this run and run...

Sharon Osbourne: "Not for me. We have Ozzfest shows to do so I'm not thinking about this anymore. Bruce Dickhead doesn't exist to me anymore."

Sharon Osbourne's interview with Kerrang! can be found in the magazine's latest issue, out on the stands today (August 31).

Love's Legal Woes Worsen
by Charlie Amter
Oct 27, 2005, 11:50 AM PT

Courtney Love is every attorney's dream client--until it comes time to collect payment for billable hours, that is.

The trouble-magnet rocker has been sued by the law firm of Hendricks & Lewis for more than $340,000.

The firm claims Love has failed to pay the sizeable debt, despite work performed in her name that ultimately helped the America's Sweetheart singer collect millions of dollars.

According to the firm's suit, filed this week in Seattle, Hendricks & Lewis alleges it performed services for Kurt Cobain's widow that netted her more than $5 million--including negotiating deals for a coffee-table book on Cobain (Journals) that was released in 2002 and a Nirvana greatest-hits album. Love is heir to her late husband's fortune and controls the rights to his legacy.

The suit also names Love's daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, in the complaint.

Love's manager, Peter Asher, told MTV Wednesday, "The matter is in Courtney's lawyer's hands."

This is actually the second time that Love has been sued by a law firm of late.

Los Angeles-based Manatt, Phelps & Phillips sued the "Malibu" singer last year, alleging it, too, was owed cash for legal services rendered.

The 41-year-old rocker, who is currently in rehab, purportedly owed the firm an unspecified amount in legal fees, but that case was reportedly settled within the last few weeks.

A Los Angeles judge had originally given the People vs. Larry Flynt star until Oct. 14 to answer to Manatt, Phelps & Phillips' claims of unpaid attorney fees.

As Love's personal life has spiraled out of control over the past few years, so too has her financial situation.

Despite millions of dollars flowing into the rocker's bank account annually thanks to publishing royalties from Nirvana's lucrative back catalog, Love has had her fair share of pecuniary difficulties lately.

The Hole frontwoman was sued in August by Mercury Capital Corporation, which claims Love hasn't made a mortgage payment on her New York loft apartment since June.

The condo's management board filed two liens against the former grunge goddess last year over her alleged late payments.

While Love's net worth is not known, the rocker has claimed in the past that she has been bilked out of millions by dishonest money managers.

She told Blender magazine last year that she was swindled out of $40 million by a "fiduciary institution" and was $4 million in debt, thanks in part to her Everest-sized mound of legal bills.

Love even blamed former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl--a onetime legal sparring partner--for her financial woes this summer, telling Spin magazine that the current Foo Fighter has been "taking money from my child for years."

SONG SALE £70M FOR COURTNEY
ROCK widow Courtney Love will net £70million by selling her late husband Kurt Cobain's songs.

The actress and rock singer is selling a quarter of the Nirvana frontman's back catalogue to disgraced US lifestyle guru Martha Stewart.

Released from jail this year after five months for insider trading, Stewart wants the songs as an investment.

A friend said: "It's an astonishing deal. It sorts out Courtney financially."

Cobain and Courtney, 41, wed in 1992. They had a daughter Frances Bean, now 11, before he killed himself with a gun in April 1994, aged 27.

Cobain rose to fame with songs like Smells Like Teen Spirit and Come As You Are. The album Nevermind sold over 10 million copies.

Spector jury can hear about statements

LOS ANGELES, California -- Legendary music producer Phil Spector's alleged admission that he shot actress Lana Clarkson is fair game for prosecutors to use at his murder trial, a Los Angeles judge has ruled.

"I didn't mean to shoot her. It was an accident. I have an explanation for this," Spector allegedly told Alhambra police officer Beatrice Rodriguez on February 3, 2003, the night Clarkson was found shot in the head at Spector's mansion.

No other officers heard the alleged statement.

"It's only the bare recollection of a woman doing her job with all of this chaos and danger and violence around her," defense attorney Bruce Cutler said, trying to undermine the officer's version of events.

What Spector likely said, according to Cutler, was: "I didn't shoot her. It was an accident."

Spector, 65, claims Clarkson shot herself, and his attorney argued that the .38 caliber special that delivered the fatal bullet did not even belong to Spector, despite evidence of a dozen other weapons in his home.

Cutler fought to keep out all of Spector's comments on the night of Clarkson's death. Most of his remarks ? "I'm sorry there's a dead woman here," and "If you're going to arrest me, just tell me what happened" ? were innocuous.

Cutler, who formerly represented Mob boss John Gotti, claimed that on the night of Clarkson's death, police "crashed" through the producer's home like "storm troopers," attacked him, hog-tied him, Tasered him and "figuratively punched him around until he said something." Cutler claimed that the statements were inadmissible because the police did not read Spector his Miranda rights.

Deputy District Attorney Douglas Sortino said there was no evidence that police engaged in any misconduct, and noted that the Taser had absolutely no effect on the producer, who refused to comply with demands to come out of the house with his hands visible.

The judge ruled all statements the producer made to authorities on the night of Clarkson's murder were admissible because they were voluntarily offered. Spector did not need a Miranda warning because he was never interrogated, Fidler said.

The judge also ruled that prosecutors could present evidence of additional weapons seized from Spector's home during a search warrant, but only if they contained ammunition that matched ammo found in the gun that killed Clarkson.

A seized 12-gauge shotgun was also allowed as evidence, because prosecutors intend to call a witness who claims Spector once assaulted her with a gun in his home and then chased her down his driveway with a pump-action shotgun. She is one of four witnesses the judge previously ruled may testify about the producer's alleged proclivity for pointing guns at women.

Prosecutors may not, however, delve into Spector's 1975 misdemeanor conviction for brandishing a weapon. Spector was initially charged in 1975 with felony assault with a deadly weapon for coming after a woman with a gun in his hotel room. According to prosecutors, he took a plea deal and the charge was knocked down to a misdemeanor.

Fidler set a trial date of January 30, but it may be changed to April 24, if Cutler is required to begin another trial in federal court in New York.

Spector had a subdued hairdo and a subdued expression on his face when he arrived in court Thursday. He wore a tan three-piece suit and knee-length jacket, a silver dragonfly brooch on his lapel, and black boots with three-inch heels.

A young, attractive brunette held Spector's arm in hers and appeared to be physically supporting the glassy-eyed, 130-pound producer as he entered the courtroom. Three oversized body guards kept watch from the gallery.

Spector first met Clarkson at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, where she was a hostess, and invited her back to his home in his limo. The limo driver later told police he heard a gunshot and saw his boss with a gun in his hand saying he had shot a woman "inside the castle."

"We deny in the clearest terms that he shot that lady, and it was Mr. Spector's gun," Cutler argued Thursday, pounding his fist. "We also deny in the clearest terms that Mr. Spector ever admitted that he shot that lady."

Prosecution wins evidence battle against Phil Spector

LOS ANGELES - Phil Spector went home appearing shaken after his lawyers failed to persuade a judge to limit evidence in his upcoming murder trial, including statements that the legendary music producer made without being advised of his right to remain silent.

The frizzy-haired 65-year-old Spector leaned heavily on the arm of a woman lawyer and was surrounded by three burly bodyguards as he left court. He spoke only once during Thursday's pretrial hearing, answering "Yes sir," when the judge asked if he waived his right to a speedy trial.

In spite of impassioned pleas from defense attorney Bruce Cutler and co-counsel Roger Rosen, Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler turned down all of their motions to suppress evidence in the Feb. 3, 2003, shooting of Lana Clarkson.

The judge said accounts of the events of that night showed Spector made statements to police spontaneously and wasn't being interrogated. Although it was clear the creator of rock music's "wall of sound" was asking for his lawyer, Fidler said police did not press him for information before attorney Robert Shapiro arrived.

"The court finds all the statements are admissible as a point of law," Fidler said, adding that anything construed to be an admission has to be offered by the prosecution, not by Spector's lawyers. Spector's version of events may be introduced by the defense only if he testifies.

Among the most critical comments ruled admissible was one overheard by a policewoman who said Spector declared, "I didn't mean to shoot her. It was an accident."

Officer Beatrice Rodriguez said she overheard the statement as she stood guard in a hallway of Spector's castle-like Alhambra home, where Clarkson's body was found. Unlike other officers, she was not tape recording his comments.

Clarkson, the glamorous star of the cult movie, "Barbarian Queen," was working as a hostess at the House of Blues" the night she went home with Spector. Police were called when a limousine driver heard a gun go off.

The importance of the officer's testimony was underscored by a defense request to see all complaints ever filed against her. Representatives of the Alhambra City Attorney's office brought a box of documents to Fidler for inspection in his chambers, but the judge said he was sealing the discussion of the records.

On the same night that Spector spoke to police at his home he also made statements at the police station. Prosecutor Douglas Sortino said he does not plan to use those remarks, which include Spector's statement that Clarkson committed suicide.

According to a police report, Spector told Officer Derek Gilliam that Clarkson, 40, was waving a gun around and that she ignored him when he told her to put it down.

"Defendant said Clarkson began singing some of his famous songs, such as 'Da Doo Run Run' and "You've Lost that Loving Feeling.' According to defendant, Clarkson suddenly placed the gun to the side of her head and pulled the trigger," the report stated.

The report quoted him as saying, "I don't know where she got the gun from ... "

Cutler said the gun that killed Clarkson wasn't Spector's and that the producer didn't shoot her.

"The ownership of the gun that caused the death of Ms. Clarkson and how it was used and by whom will be battled out in this courtroom," he said. "We deny in the clearest terms that he ever confessed to shooting the lady."

Fidler set two different trial dates, Jan. 30 and April 24, contingent on the disposition of another murder case Cutler is handling. The first date would be abandoned if that case, involving two New York police officers, goes to trial before then.

Fidler also scheduled a Dec. 2 pretrial hearing.

Prosecutors in Phil Spector murder case want his statements submitted
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Prosecutors in the Phil Spector murder case asked a judge to allow statements the music producer made shortly after an actress was shot to death at his home in 2003 to be used at his trial.

Spector's lawyers have argued the statements he made after Lana Clarkson died should be thrown out because he was suffering withdrawal symptoms from seven prescription drugs when he talked to police.

But Deputy District Attorney Douglas Sortino said in papers filed with the court Friday that he plans to use a statement in which Spector allegedly said he accidentally shot Clarkson.

The prosecutors also urged Superior Court Judge Larry P. Fidler to forbid Spector's defense team from mentioning Spector's allegation that Clarkson committed suicide during key portions of the trial.

Spector's defense attorney Bruce Cutler said Saturday his client did nothing wrong on the night Clarkson died.

"Mr. Spector denies he shot anyone at his house and denies he said he shot anyone," Cutler said. "We have made motions to suppress certain statements that were not admissions and were illegally obtained."

Spector, known for creating rock music's "wall of sound," has pleaded not guilty and is free on $1 million bail. He faces life in prison if convicted.

Clarkson starred in Roger Corman's cult film classic "Barbarian Queen" and had been working as a hostess at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip.

A hearing on the admissibility of the statements is scheduled for Thursday and likely will last several days, said Sandi Gibbons, a spokeswoman for the district attorney's office.

The judge has said he expects the trial to begin in January.

Phil Spector's accounts of Lana Clarkson shooting revealed

UPI News Service, 10/22/2005

Legendary "Wall of Sound" record producer Phil Spector reportedly told Los Angeles police actress Lana Clarkson sang his hits then shot herself to death.

In court papers filed Friday, Spector allegedly told police during an interview that Clarkson sang "Da Doo Run Run" and "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" before grabbing his gun and committing suicide, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.

At the scene, however, Spector reportedly apologized to police and said: "The gun went off accidentally."

The accounts were contained in papers filed by prosecutors Friday seeking to admit the different stories Spector told in the wake of Clarkson's shooting, during his upcoming murder trial.

Prosecutors claim Spector, 64, killed the B-movie actress after she went home with him from the House of Blues on Feb. 3, 2003.

Spector has pleaded innocent and remains free on $1 million bond.

Spector tries to block statement

Defence lawyers in the murder trial of music producer Phil Spector have tried to stop prosecutors obtaining a sworn statement he made in a separate case.

Prosecutors want a transcript and video of Mr Spector's deposition in a lawsuit he filed to retrieve a $1m (£562,000) fee he paid his former defence lawyer.
His new defence argued it was protected by lawyer-client privilege. A hearing on the matter was set for 2 December.

Mr Spector, 65, has denied murdering actress Lana Clarkson, 40, in 2003.

His defence team have filed a motion arguing Mr Spector would not have given a statement to his former lawyer if he had "thought that his deposition would be anything but privileged and confidential".

The music producer filed a case against his former lawyer in the murder case, Robert Shapiro, after an acrimonious split.

The deposition in question was filed on 19 July 2005.

On Monday, Mr Spector's lawyers asked that an apparent admission made by the music producer to police after a woman was shot dead be ruled out of his trial.

They said comments made after Lana Clarkson died at Mr Spector's home are inadmissible as he had prescription drug withdrawal symptoms.

Mr Spector allegedly said: "I didn't mean to shoot her."

A hearing in Los Angeles on Thursday will decide if the statements will be included at his trial in January.

Mr Spector, known for his "wall of sound" production technique, has pleaded not guilty and is free on $1m (£565,000) bail.

If convicted, he faces life imprisonment.

Ms Clarkson starred in Roger Corman's cult film Barbarian Queen and had been working as a hostess at the House of Blues venue in Hollywood.

The Phil Spector Trial

By Burton S. Katz / Retired L.A. Superior Court Judge

The alleged murder of actress Lana Clarkson occurred on Feb. 3, 2003, yet the trial of legendary rock producer Phil Spector will not occur until 2006, nearly three years after the fact. Why such delay? And who benefits?

The short answer is that it depends. In O.J. Simpson, any reasonable delay would have inured to the prosecution's benefit because its case was inchoate ... evolving. Robert Shapiro's team was smart enough to recognize that Simpson's best chance was to push for a speedy trial-before the prosecution could assemble the damning evidence that ultimately dribbled out during the course of a needlessly confusing and never-ending prosecution. Much of that case depended on evolving forensics and expert testimony. A trial just 90 days from the date of arraignment in the Superior Court was just not enough time for the prosecution and thus they were forced to constantly improvise.

In most cases, the defense benefits from long continuances, because witnesses' memories fade, the moment's passion is lost and the public wearies of the once sensational charges. Additionally, there is danger of the case becoming stale. But in cases like Charles Manson, time is friendly to the prosecution. Like a fine wine, the case ages well. In fact, had Manson's lawyers pushed for an early trial, the prosecution may never have proved its case. Susan Atkins, still under the spell of Manson, turn-coated and only time allowed the prosecution to secure the testimony of Linda Kasabian, a more believable and far less culpable witness, and to secure other damning evidence of guilt.

In Spector, both sides acquire benefits and deficits, though, on balance, the defense stands to benefit more from such extreme delays. Clarkson's death is surrounded by misinformation, innuendo and rank speculation. The public has had little credible information. We in the public sector will be learning about the "true facts" of the case for the first time at the trial. We will be fascinated with what really happened and why. Yes, we've all heard about Clarkson's alleged DNA on the gun that was purportedly in her mouth; that some of her teeth were on the floor next to her slumped body in a chair in the hallway of Spector's home. We know it was Spector's gun. We know only one shot was fired. We know that Spector was allegedly infused with drugs and alcohol and appeared incoherent upon the arrival of the police shortly after the shooting. If O.J. was a case of battling experts, you can rest assured that John Gotti's former lawyer, Bruce Cutler, will likewise make this a battle of the experts.

And with a public informed by the slippery forensics that purport to solve the insoluble in "CSI," "Cold Case," "Without a Trace," "Law and Order" and its progeny, a jury will demand no less than a prosecution and defense grounded in such dramatically inspired forensics. Indeed, the real life shows such as "Body of Evidence" and "Forensic Files" will demonstrate that it is required. This takes time to develop (for both sides). Also, the defense is presently pursuing motions to suppress Spector's statement to the police that he had shot and killed Clarkson allegedly made at a time when he was "hallucinating" while under withdrawal from medications purportedly withheld by the police. He is also attempting to keep out evidence of 14 guns seized from his home and his past misdemeanor firearm convictions. These are important motions that can affect the course of the trial; they also require the prosecution to ask for sufficient time to prepare a response-hence more delays. A game of chess has begun.

It is said that the defense need prove nothing, that it is the burden of the prosecution to prove guilt. True, as far as it goes. But here, when the body of Lana Clarkson, a beautiful 41-year-old woman, who would seemingly have no reason to commit suicide, is blown away by a Spector-owned gun placed in her mouth by "someone" in the House of Spector-a lot of explaining must be done. Spector cannot. The defense must attempt to tell its story through forensics. And time is needed for this. All the ducks must be in place for Cutler to amass his defense, including the manifold tests, examinations, experiments and availability of experts. Only after the experts have bloodied themselves on the altar of justice, will we know the outcome of the match.

And finally, Spector, who is quoted in a 1999 edition of Esquire as having said, "I continue to try to live up to the standard of one of my heroes, Henry VIII, who perhaps came as close to the ideal of perfect wickedness as the infirmities of human nature will allow," may find that he has a public image problem that needs "fine tuning."
