New Final studio album and the first digital download only release from Avalanche Recs. With 4 pieces running for approx 47 mins. 'Fade Away' explores minimal pulselike drones, intended for late night listening. There are 2 options for purchasing - 320kbps MP3 or FLAC dependent on your personal preference. FLAC is larger in file size, but once decompressed you have a lossless / non compressed version of the album. The download comes as a .zip file, easily opened / unzipped on any platform. Songs are not available for purchase individually. Contained in the .zip file is the separate tracks that make up the album and a .pdf of the artwork. The front cover artwork is embedded in the MP3 version of the album, in the FLAC version only song titles appear.

There is no DRM (digital rights management) used on our digital downloads, so please do not share our albums, if you want it then please buy it ; if the selling of our material digitally is successful then we have many more exclusives, unreleased recordings and reissues planned for the future.

JESU - ’Pale Sketches’ LTD ALBUM OF UNRELEASED MATERIAL - AVAILABLE NOW FROM NEW WEBSHOP !

Justin K Broadrick has restarted his web label Avalanche Recordings which he originally began in 2000 with the limited CDR issue of the then unreleased Godflesh EP 'Messiah'. The label quietly resurfaced recently with the highly limited release of four FINAL improvised and hand numbered CDR's, which were to be sold as limited editions at Broadrick related concerts.

Avalanche Recordings now presents its first full release in the form of 'Pale Sketches' limited to 2000 copies only on CD, an album compiling unreleased Jesu material containing some songs culled from even before the full conceptual realisation of the project. It is a compilation of Jesu songs that Broadrick felt did'nt fit with previous Jesu releases, so he chose to mix these songs this year and compile them for their own release. Available to buy now on pre-order and shipping in early October, the CD is housed in a full colour 6 panel digipak and contains 8 songs, 4 of which are instrumental, song 4 'The Playgrounds Are Empty' can be heard over at the official Jesu myspace site within the next 24 hours...

In January 2008 'Pale Sketches' will also be available from the Avalanche Store on 180 grm double vinyl, along with the long awaited vinyl version of the first Jesu release 'Heart Ache' and a new FINAL studio album on picture disc only. These items will be available to buy on pre-order in January 2008 and shipping in late February.

"For the second installment in the collaborative series of split albums between Temporary Residence Ltd. and Hydra Head Records, we find a match made in heaven with the ethereal, grandiose dirge-pop of Jesu splitting sides with stately, deserted majesty of Eluvium. Already fans of each other¹s music, the two artists sought to compliment each other and in the process stretched their individual sounds to their outermost limits. Jesu shoots for the moon with a trio of fuzzed-out tunes that owes more to first-wave British shoegaze groups like Swervedriver and Ride than Broadrick's own roots in Godflesh and Napalm Death. It's a beautiful and brilliant evolution in Jesu's already accomplished career. Eluvium aims for the heart of the sun with his magnum opus, a three-part collaboration with Jeremy deVine that stretches Eluvium's contemplative drones to a staggering twenty-one minutes, in which time the song transforms from a lonely rattle to a seismic, swirling storm of sound that grinds the piece to haunting quiet. As with all records in this series, this is strictly limited to 4,000 copies - 2,000 Hydra Head versions and 2,000 Temporary Residence Ltd. versions. jesu 'Sundown'/'Sunrise' and 'Conqueror' on Vinyl

The vinyl LP only version of 'Sundown'/'Sunrise' on Aurora Borealis, the songs that are only available elsewhere on the Japanese deluxe double CD edition of 'Conqueror' (Hydra Head have a limited quantity of these in their store, direct link to the item here - Hydra Head Conqueror Import), is released on April 30th '07. This has been on presale less than a week and the first pressing is sold out already, the 2nd and final pressing is in the works and will be presold on the 17th May.

Never one to rest on previous innovations, Justin Broadrick has been forging ahead once again, marrying his trademark bass-heavy riffs with an almost Phil Spector-ish pop sensibility creating anthems of melancholic euphoria.

JESU HAVE PERMITS - U.S TOUR BEGINS MARCH 14TH

ADDENDUM, 11TH MARCH - THE U.S EMBASSY HAVE SENT OUT THE WORK PERMITS TO JESU LATE, THEY WILL NOT HAVE THEM UNTIL MON. OR TUES. GURANTEED LATEST, CONSEQUENTLY DC & PHILLY WILL NOT FEATURE JESU, FIRST JESU SHOW NOW NYC. SORRY FOR THE CONTINUED RIDICULOUSNESS.


The impending permits/visas finally cleared for Jesu this week ; the unforeseen backlog at the U.S embassy in London had somewhat reduced enabling the band to be interviewed and be issued their work permits/visas.

This means that Jesu will perform its first live show in the U.S this Wednesday, March 14th in NYC at Irving Plaza and will complete the rest of the tour with ISIS from there on in, performing at the Hydra Head Showcase at SXSW, Austin, Texas on the 15th March along the way.

Many thanks for your patience and huge apologies to those that missed Jesu at earlier shows due to these unforeseen circumstances. A Jesu headline tour of the U.S over the next 9 - 12 months will hopefully compensate somewhat, especially since Jesu now have permits/visas for 12 months !

BAD NEWS REGARDING START OF U.S TOUR-PLEASE READ

We are sorry to report that Jesu are still stuck in England and will NOT be playing the Spaceland, L.A headline/release party ; work permits for Jesu have still not been cleared by U.S officials/customs and the band are not allowed into the U.S until the permits are officially cleared. The band are yet to receive a date of clearance and simply have to wait until they do so before entering the U.S, hence Jesu will not be appearing at any shows with ISIS until the permits are available and Jesu can leave England.

Please watch this space for further news ; once Jesu have their permits we will post confirmation of this and the first show that Jesu will play in the U.S.
Hopefully the band will not miss more than the first week of this tour, being the bands first tour of the U.S.

In related Jesu live line up news, Jesu bass player Diarmuid Dalton will not be playing any of the U.S dates due to being refused a work permit for the U.S for this tour.
Diarmuid has been replaced for this tour by long time collaborator (and fellow Birmingham, England native) bass player Dave Cochrane (Justin and Dave played together in Head Of David, Sweet Tooth, Ice, God and now their new project together GREY MACHINE).

Drummer Ted Parsons has also been unable to make this first Jesu U.S tour due to family commitments and has been replaced by drummer Danny Walker, a Los Angeles native who plays for many bands including Intronaut.
