Part Deux
Category: Music

So.....
We survived
Incredible. The Usual Violets Chaos ensued, I was still programming drums a couple of hours before we went on. And someone mixed green M&Ms in with the blue ones... sacrilege.
But I should say a huge thanks to everyone who helped and that includes the audience... it's a reciprocal thing and you can't do it without feedback. And the atmosphere was great, both electric and friendly, just as I remember it back at the best Violets gigs.

I overheard someone saying "it was just like a real March Violets gig!". Mmmm.... That's 'cos it was... The real deal, the last of the interceptors... And who would have thought we would sound almost identical to the early (true) Violets?  Well, us, actually. I thought we sounded better.

As to the future....
The Violets never did huge numbers of gigs, and I see no reason to change that. This gig was only ever intended as a one-off reunion thing, partly to satisfy fans who wanted to see us again or for those who never got the chance. It was also one of those things you do just to make life a bit more exciting, and to see if you still can. We have been blown away by the response... and we are really glad you enjoyed it. And, yes, we are aware that a lot of people who wanted to come didn't due to various reasons, but that is always the way. Maybe we should have given more warning and had tickets on sale for more than 5 weeks.
Anyway, we had a think and a talk and another think and agreed that we would be up for doing a very limited number of special gigs before we die. And that's only if you want them. So that is the real question.... Let us know what you think.

Warmest regards

Si. x

Reunion gig : Part 1
Category: Music

We would like to say a big thankyou to all the people involved in the Re-union Gig on the 8th December... Friends, Family, and Fans.

It was a fantastic night for us, and the atmosphere was both electric and really very friendly. The other bands were awesome, and the audience utterly Groovy. We especially want to thank Matt who stepped up to play bass for us at the last moment and did a sterling job. A special thanks also to the Violets Crew who really helped out and managed to smooth out some of the traditional Violets Mayhem, they went above and beyond the call of duty, and we thought the Sound and Lights were rather wonderful. We really want to thank the DJs who kept the party going and helped make it such a memorable night. And most of all we want to thank the fans, new and old, who came along on a miserable winter night and supported us after all these years... You were incredible and you were there.

Cheers
