Sunday March 30th Birthday Party @ FT

Announcing my birthday party for this year.

To be held Sunday March 31, 2008 @ the Free Times Cafe, 320 College St.

This year I turn a very distinguished 33 years old. Last year’s theme was: songs that should be in my mp3 player and at the party we did useless trivia about me. I think Maryam scored top on the test.

This year’s theme: I present: the "answer mark". My own personal form of puncuation to be introduced into, coincidentally 33 languages worldwide and patented and copyrighted.

What is the "answer mark"? Think "Is that your answer"... "Yes [punctuation: answer mark]". The semi-answer-mark will be unveilled in 2009. The digital answer mark version will be blogged shortly and available for beta testing format only.

Of course the "answer mark" is most useful for university exams, question/answer period, distinguishing between the rhetoric and actually called for, and people who simply like to make statements without revealing revealing anything useful.

The party features tunes by Tom Glenne, Ory No’man, Sarah Burton, Fait Dormi and Christianne Kearns.

I’ve also issued some "challenges" to the players and attendees to make things interesting.

Ex: "provide three NEW flavours of ice cream", "appear in costume", "demonstrate an UNcommon household item’s use"......

There’s a facebook invite page at:

Thanks always for reading this far,

Ryan

Songs For the Holidays 6

The annual holiday CD is finished.

Myke did his usual amazing job of putting together three days worth of mixes and lots and lots of talented participants.

Happy to have already sold 4 and its only a day and half old.

Highlights this year have to be: Jory on keys (especially Auld Lang Syne and 2nd keys on Aynsley's), Myke recording when no one knew, Aylsse's merriment, Tom's evap, and the polar bears taking over the living room.

The real special part of this year's album is the original tunes.  Aynsley once again with an original, Alysse with her seasonal original, Tom with his contributed original to teach you about love, David's darker slightly pragmatic original, and Myke & David's co-written and personal favourite of mine.  And stir in more than a spoonfull of Canary Mine originality.

Track listing: 1. Huron Carol  2. Dream Yourself Awake  3. Wind From the North  4. Some People  5. Petit Papa Noel  6. Song To Teach You About Love  7. Oh Chanukah  8. Coal on Christmas  9. We Wish You a Merry Christmas  10. Auld Lang Syne  11. Another White Christmas

Participants:

Jory Berger - vocals, several pianos, guitar, choir

Tom Glenne - vocals, multiple guitars, snaps, diatribe

David Hein - vocals, guitar, snaps, all sorts of percussion, diatribe, on-the-spot songwriting

Sarah Jerrom - vocals, piano, angels choir, song that didn't make it?

Myke Mazzei - masterful recording, vocals, guitars that aren't his, snaps, choir, chorus, whistle, diatribe, percussion

Cat Ratusny - vocals, piano, generous loan of keys

Alysse Rich - vocals, banjo, merriment, choir, lead sheets

Aynsley Saxe - vocals, piano, choir, smile

Ryan Ayukawa - choir, humming, spring rolls & pita

Canary Mine - hugs

Many Happy 'days.

Much Merriment.

Ryan

New Open Stage hosts !
Current mood: busy

After some searching and interviews and emails and sit-ins, Open Concept added NEW hosts to the Free Times Monday Night Open Stage.

Current hosts include:

Andrea Caswell  -  A singer-songwriter of gritty pop-rock with a soulful edge. As a live performer Andrea has been described as "an emotionally driven musical powerhouse...broken up with bits of hilarious banter" (Andrew Johnston, Comedian).  A quirky and introspective writer, Andrea explores social and political themes while maintaining a focus on the personal. Next hosting June 11th. Visit: www.myspace.com/andreacaswellmusic

Tom Glenne - Tom Glenne managed the FreeTimes OpenStage back in the last millennium - he was born to be an openstage host.  His bag is collaboration, improvisation, reverb and making the new and weird welcome.  Visit: www.yap.com

Laura Fernandez - Born in Madrid, Laura is an accomplished musician, songwriter, and illustrator.  Nobody composes a song quicker or is harder to shop for.  The loveliest of Hosts.  Next hosting June 4th.  Visit:  www.laurafernandezmusic.com

Graydon James - The kind of person who still appreciates the value of a good mix tape. Doubly-apparent when seen hosting.  Visit: www.graydonjames.com

Katherine Myles - A folk singer/songwriter from the East Riding of Yorkshire in England, who is currently living and working in Toronto.  From the serious to the satirical, Katherine's songs make for an interesting reflection on the quirks of life, love and learning. Next hosting May 14th.

Alysse Rich - A graduate student in drama at UofT, and although she grew up in an unmentionable suburb of Toronto, she is also a relatively recent arrival from Montreal.  Touting her guitar and banjo, Alysse is a folk-style lady whose interests include classical Greek drama, buying presents, eating pickles, and sharing songs at the Free Times Cafe Open Stage! Next hosting May 28th.

Jeff Stone - With 5 albums to his credit, Jeff Stone is "prolific, truly unique and an unforgettable performer."  He still can't believe he played the Cavern Club in Liverpool.  Visit: www.jeffstone.com

Marcus Walker - Toronto professional musician for over 10 years.  Marcus is well known and respected amongst many local artists (and not just those he plays in bands with.).  He is also known to create a feel good vibe.  Visit: myspace.com/marcusdeluxe

Noah Zacharin - Affectionately dubbed "Big Daddy Z". Born in Montreal, continues to demonstrate his mastery of guitar and the deepest understanding of life's emotions in his songwriting.  Also possesses a perfect International French accent.   Visit: www.noahsong.com

More birthday details...... March 30th......

Reshuffle

Birthday 32 approaches at the end of the month.  My friend Kerri O emailed me this week to say she'll be there for "cake and laughter".

That means there will be at least two of us there --

Plus...

Performers to include:

Caroline Brooks
- One half of the "Brooks Sisters" and member of the "Good Lovelies"
I went to the "Good Lovelies" first show at the Art bar - great bar and sold out the room.

James Lanbro
- Lead singer and guitarist of "Canary Mine" a stellar band -- their CD release this year was impressive.  James Trivia: lived up the street from me.

Jay Moonah
- Multi-multi instrumentalist, musician, Internet/Media Technology, Podcaster, member of "Uncle Seth" and the "McFlies" and friend from when the universe was formed (minus a year or two).

Angie Nussey
- Winner of "Female Performer of the Year" and "best song" for "Forbidden Thoughts" at the Toronto Independent Music Awards.  Angie Trivia: lived up the street from me.

Cat Ratusny
- Toronto singer-songwriter-pianist who I met a few years ago who made the trek out to B.C. to play and had the chance to work with again at the 2006 Joni Tribute after making the trek back to T.O.  Cat Trivia: has played keys for James Kasper, former T.O. now B.C. singer/songwriter who I worked with in 2000.

We've had some reshuffling of performers since the unfortunate news Tom Glenne will not be available for this year's birthday party.

All the performers are more or less on myspace if you want to preview them.  More special guests will be announced soon.

And I'm also working hard on putting together some lovely door prizes for party goers (how about a TV).  And of course, my usual stupid stage tricks, unexpected fumbles, pointed hats, witty banter directed at stage right, shirt trade, spoken word, ShuffleDemonTribute.......

This year's theme for the party is: Songs that should be in my MP3 player (and aren't already).

Bring on the fun.
Bring on the laughter.
Bring on the cake.
Bring on the expensive gifts.

Thanks always for reading this far.
Ryan

- I'm off to save the world (within six feet of my personal and myspace).
- gifts are good.
- Oh, the party is at FreeTimes 320 College St. anytime after 7pm on Friday March 30 2007.  I turn 32 at midnight.

Friday March 30th birthday show!

The year started off with a double-birthday gig for Joanna Chapman-Smith and Mel Gibson (51).  Ory No Man was the special musical guest at that one to an almost capacity room.  Followed by a beautiful Saturday wedding for Dominic and Sarah.

We're now looking ahead to another strong year of Open Concept Productions.  The first look is towards March.  Spring weather, "get Tom to T.O." and birthday #32.

Friday March 30th is the night of the annual birthday celebration for Open Concept and myself.

The updated friends list includes a look at notables from past and possible birthday participants.

Ado - Contributing photographer to the Open Concept 2005, 2006 Holiday albums and my 2006 birthday show.  And very sweet.

Tom Glenne - Friend, artist.  Tom led "The Band" at the 2005 birthday show.  We've collaborated on shows, bookings & booking templates.  He's been a strong artistic influence and I'm always happy to work and learn from him.

Uncle Seth - Longtime friends.  Participants in all things of Open Concept Spirit.  Special thanks to JM for hosting the Open Concept site.  TT thanks for "The Last Day Of Our Acquaintance".

Laura Fernandez - Dedicated friend, dedicated artist.  A truly talented and lovely person who brings a lot to everyone's lives.  She is no longer allowed to have any more birthdays of her own as of this writing she remains the hardest person in the world to shop for.  She has also played at and attended more than a few birthdays of mine.

Kevin Stock - Another friend and gifted artist.  Kevin is definitely old man Christmas.  His perfect songwriting skill, hair and ears reputation often preceeds him.

The Brooks Sisters - Friends, sisters, duo (+1?).  Many happy congrats on baby Brooks.  What colour are his eyes?  Do they open?  Can he sing in English, Francais, Latin and beautifully?  Or at least cry in one of those languages?  Caroline Brooks has participated in the 2005 birthday show and both Brooks Sisters have performed on multiple holiday albums.

Alicia Glenn - Now residing in Edmonton (sorry Oilers, next year), Alicia brought lovely lovely lovely vocals to both a holiday album and my 2005 birthday show.  Still waiting for the answer to: What's a girl gotta do?

Jeff Stone - Friend of more than just a few years.  Jeff Stone is his real name.  He played one of the early birthday shows before it was considered cool to be playing one of my birthday shows.

Half Full - A stellar band and another group of talented young friends.  Way back when they were: Helen, Ollie, Rich and Fulvio.  They made their way through the departure of Rich and loss of Fulvio and remain a stellar band.

Lindi - not to be confused with the other Toronto Lindy.  Lindi Ortega played a birthday show with Kat Goldman (not on myspace) and H. Trowbridge and the debut show for the M&Ms.

Nathan Weatherdon - Offshore friend.  Way offshore.  Currently teaching in China, Nathan brought his strong improv skills and strings to the 2005 birthday show.  If you ever want to take a correspondance course in all things mathematic and theologic via myspace blog - this is your instructor.

Jeff Kahl - Multi-instrumentalist, left-handed, singer, friend.  He contributed his percussion prowess and backing vocals to the 2005 birthday show and several holiday albums.

Todd Harrison - Left-Handed multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter friend.  Todd plays in several indie-rock bands throughout T.O.  I never forget his birthday.

Josh Holden - NHL player who made his music debut on the night he scored the ghost-game-winning-goal.  JH is simply: the biggest band in the world.  A number of my friends are in JH and I think he showed up at the end of my 2005 birthday party (it was dark and hard to see and he likes to stand at the back of the room).  JH also includes all the friends/musicians who've made it out to previous birthdays not on the top friends list/myspace.

Other honourable mention attendees:

Amy Craze - The woman with the lovely off-the-shoulder top who had to leave early and works-too-many-hours (I like hyphens!).

Leah Erbe - The woman who doesn't need a mic and has a series of contingency plans for saving the poor dog trapped in the jeep.

Myke Mazzei - He generously provided his time, gear, and mastery to the upcoming 2006 album.  As well as some backing parts and an original song on various albums.

Susmita De - Made the trip from Toronto to Chicago back to Toronto just just to attend one of my birthdays.

Noah Zacharin - A sage old friend who lives right around the corner (really!).

James Lanbro - Another friend from the band Canary Mine who has been asked to play birthday 2007.

Good Lovelies - Friends... can you believe more friends?  In no particular order other than that which I type: Sue Passmore, Kerri Ough, Caroline Brooks (See Brooks Sisters).  Lovely voices, good, and lovely too.  I think I was at their first ever show together, though I met them individually and know they were not together at the time.  Their website says they have wit, sweets and uh, dirt.  Though I do not recall who has which.  They've been asked to play the 2007 birthday show.........

Lee-Anne - She'll be serving us drinks (hopefully) the night of birthday #32.  Add also here all the names of the amazing Free Times staff.

the Free Times Cafe - 2nd home to many Open Concept endeavours and more than a few birthday and other special shows.

Savannah Room - Back when it was still the Oasis club we had a birthday gathering there (year?).  A nice College St. spot with lots of earth tones and great tapas.

Thanks always for reading this far,
Ryan Ayukawa
Open Concept Productions
- see you March 30th for the show and all the shows from now until then.

Updated Friends List: Holiday Friends

"Holiday" Top Friends List

Following in the footsteps of songwriter-singer-booker-
recordingartist-worldtraveller and mentor, Tom Glenne, I've ammended my Top Friends list to include a new theme - Those folks who've participated in one or more of Open Concept Productions Holiday Albums.

Every Year we record a holiday album in November-December as part of our commitment to bringing together artists in spontaneous collaboration (see oxford under "art").

It started somewhat as a half-joke a few years ago.  We were aiming for "cheesy" (or I was).  We recorded live in the Salon Musica music room, a two-day effort.  Everything in 3 takes or less.  All on mini-disc.  No idea what we were going to record, often bastardized lyrics, odd instruments, handflute a la Kevin Stock, and minimal practice.  In the end, it all turned out to be something much, much more (I think that's where they stole the name for the network).

The outstanding quality of the first year recording was largely the work of soundtech and bassist Dietrich Sider.  The Salon Musica Band and longtime friends from Uncle Seth also contributed largely to the initial project(s).  Cover art for the first year(s) holiday albums were the work of Mor (www.trymor.com) and Rick Jacobson.

Additional holiday album recordings were recorded live at the Free Times Cafe 2nd home of Open Concept and technical difficulties.

The 2006 holiday album is part brain-child of Open Concept and recordingmaster Myke Mazzei.  Recorded in the living room of Open Concept.

Please check out the artists on the homepage who've participated in the albums.

Ado - Contributing photographer to our 2005 album.  And very sweet.

Myke Mazzei - He generously provided his time, gear, and mastery to the upcoming 2006 album.  As well as some backing parts and an original song on various albums.

Tom Glenne - Another generous artist.  Tom contributed to more than a few songs on the 2006 album as a songwriter and general collaborator.  It's fair to say he had a great time that Tuesday.

Laura Fernandez - The hardest person in the world to shop for.  Laura's keys and vocals and songwriting appears on most of the holiday albums.  Who knew she could play a jazzy "god rest ye..."?

Uncle Seth - Longtime friends and participants in all things of Open Concept Spirit.  Special thanks to Jay for hosting the Open Concept site.

Kevin Stock - The easiest person in the world to shop for.  Kevin is definitely old man Christmas.  He arranged a fantastic train-ride listening version of "take it back" on the first album and surpassed himself with other Christmas classics later on.

Jeff Kahl - We missed his sticks on the 2006 album.  A fine person to have on any recording.

the Brooks Sisters - They sing in English, Francais, Latin and beautifully.  What more could you want?

Graydon James - Sorry about the feedback from that one mic GJ.

Alicia Glenn - Now residing in Edmonton (sorry Oilers, next year), Alicia brought lovely lovely lovely vocals to "the Christmas Song".  She also contributed backing vocals on a number of other traditional and twisted holiday tunes.

the Friendless Youngsters - Geoff, Sarah, Tom, Graydon.  Not so friendless as Geoff would appear (there's a pun there).  They provided their unique country-rock style to old, odd, and original holiday tunes.  We count DVR as an honourary friendless one in this bunch.

Kerri Ough & Sue Passmore - Wow.  We requested a choir for the 2006 album and they provided a two-person choir of the highest order.

Aynsley Saxe - We've had the opportunity to book Aynsley for a "best of" Open Concept artists in 2005 and are happy to have her on our 2006 holiday album roster.  She brings a truly fine voice and style to all her musical endeavours.  And hippos.

Melanie O'Brien - Always fun to work with Melanie.  She managed to rock the living room (and Xmas tree if we had one).

Yehuda Fisher - He runs his own spoken word / music show at the very venue we started off running our own spoken word / music show.... Hope we aren't in danger of being replaced by him someday.

Jeremy Parnell - A previous year's contributer to the holiday album collection.  He will be remembered for bringing two elves to the party that night.

Kritty - Oh, we dearly hope you get that hippo you asked Santa for.  We'll bring you tons of loaves and fishes to feed him.

Shelley O'Brien - Now living on the west coast of Canada.  Shellest participated in many Open Concept shows and recordings prior to joining our holiday album cast.  Happy waves.

Signe Miranda - One of our favourites to see at any Open Concept event, Signe provided backing vocals to Myke Mazzei's original as well as others.

And honourable mention to:

Amy Campbell - Amy designed the Open Concept website.

the Free Times Cafe - 2nd home to many Open Concept endeavours.

Dayna Manning - We hosted a couple of private concerts with Dayna.  At one she provided a great version of "o holy night" that put the crowd in the Xmas spirit.  She is also quoted as saying Kevin's voice on the Xmas albums sounds like Rufus Wainright.

LeeAnne - She'll be serving us drinks when we listen to the completed album on a Monday soon.

Thanks always for reading this far.

Show 750 - Open Concept Productions History Part II

History II

Show  Number 750

All the shows, the live music, poetry, theatre, you-name-it, will hit number seven-hundred and fifty on Wednesday November 8, 2006.

Open Concept Productions has run a Wednesday night residency at the Free Times for the past several years.  We've had shows on the side at The Oasis, Victory Cafe, Clintons, The Drake Hotel, 3rd Floor Reillys, the Smiling Buddha, and even a couple of house concerts!

Between myself and Open Concept we've now put together a spectacular 750 nights (as of November 8 - can't mention it too many times).

First and foremost we need to put together our collective limbs and vocal instruments and thank in advance: the various venues, bar owners, other bookers, waitstaff, audiences at every show, moms & dads, kids, my cats, openstagers, performers, and especially every network executive who ill-conceived a now cancelled TV show between 1999-2006.  As well, the Leafs for not making it further in the playoffs in those years respectively.

Because really, that's what it's about.  If there's something brilliant or even hopefully so on TV the night Open Concept produces a show, that's the major holdback in showing up or not showing up to attend.  Well isn't it?

After each and every show produced, we check all the factors and yes, thank the supreme being "entourage" isn't on a Wednesday or nobody would show up at our Wednesday night residency at Free Times and we'd be out of a job.

Seriously, though, 750 nights is a HUGE achievement for us.  We've had many many soldout shows.  And many not quite so soldout shows.  We work hard to make every show different - correct that: special.  We aim for a consistently high quality of music/poetry/art/hosting.  Our tribute nights aren't for the sake of playing covers - they are to bring you closer to by sharing music you all love.  We want you to all go home at the end of the night happy (you taped "the Gilmore Girls") and remember that you were there.  We want you to be a part of ART.

So....

For show #750 we'll be bringing you some of our best players and performers from this year and the past.

Wednesday November 8 @ the Free Times Cafe 320 College St. 8pm.

Joel Archambault -- This man consistently impresses us with his dedication to songwriting, grit, and professionalism and can only get better as he crosses each new set of tracks.

Tom Glenne -- Here's a man to whom we owe just about everything.  Inspiration to create, host, perform, write, books shows.  When he's 800 I'll be calling him Yoda.

Paul Douglas Forrester -- It's rare that someone shows up at an openstage for the first time and is beyond good.  PDF is beyond good.

Kritty -- An instant new favourite to any and every show.  One of those myspace friends who understands what the "add" function really means.

Myself - Well, hopefully you know who I am if you're reading this.  Personally: I like to wear dark colours and hide in corners.  Professionally: I've been told approaching me is like approaching the godfather, minus the ring.  My best tricks are the ones you don't see and my stage presence includes impressive acts of stupidity.

I'll be writing all new material for this show as well as borrowing my ex-stagepartners the M&Ms.

This one will be a party - join me and schmooze.  I'll be floating the room - don't be afraid to shake hands.

Thanks always for reading this far.
Ryan
There is one more person to thank.  Thank you.

Open Concept Productions History Part I

History I

March 1999 - I was not yet out of University when a member of the grad studies programme there asked me to assume hosting responsibilities of a spoken word event he was running.  It was "Poetic License" and held in the club room of a little Toronto bar on College St that was 18 years old then (about as old as I looked) and known as the Free Times Cafe.

The spelling of the spoken word series changed a little to "Poetic Licence" and the format took on a new look/sound expanding beyond just poetry to poetry/storytelling/music.  My hosting and booking skills were limited and all of my faults (or most) clearly noticeable.  But also noticeable was my drive to make every part of the series, the Best it could be.

Unemployed, 3 months from graduation, um, girlfriendless, student loan mounting, and in an multi-dimensional way "Lost", the atmosphere and folks at the Free Times were immediately inviting.  The Free Times, Poetic Licence and folks who were a part, solved none of the above, but was a first step into something greater.

Opportunities to book/host other spoken word events followed.  As did many many nights of live music at various venues.  One show led into the next and the next and the next and the next....

Many of the shows were spectacular.  The music oustanding.  The performances forever unforgettable.  There were new performers, veteran performers, loyal audiences, early crowds, late crowds, 70 hour work weeks (holding down 2 jobs), anniversaries, open stages, tribute nights and FRIENDS - the friends seemed to flow from the walls.

There are many more details I could throw in here --- I have most written down in old booking books and dayplanners and posters and some scratchy recordings.  A lot of the visuals are buried deep in my brain or I admit didn't give enough credit to when they happened and are gone.  No regrets about that though.  My entire life holds no regrets over buried / burned / flickering / stolen / unrecoverable memories.

Suffice to say the success of the early shows and the relationships forged with the Free Times and the artists there led to booking the entire venue (6 nights/week) for over a year.  Throw in running the Monday night Open Stage and you have = several Best of Toronto awards from both Eye Weekly and NOW Magazine.  The one and only NOW win was concurrent with an Eye win and a letter from NOW rests on my bedroom wall (perhaps the singular vanity I hold from those days).

THEN something happened.  It was not a specific event or doing or act, but enough to force me to draw a line (one of many future lines) and leave my Booker/Open Stage position at Free Times.  (Will history mark this as the first or only time I leave outright?)

[I place a long blank here withholding many details and feelings and self-revelations of the 3 months between my resignation letter and final show.]

My first Era at Free Times would end on a high note with performances by Kat Goldman (destiny awaits her), Lindi Ortega (her destiny would ever change), and the then musically blossoming Harmony Trowbridge.  Add to that myself onstage with Laura Fernandez and the M&Ms.  (Someone correct me if the lineup is wrong - my memory is never perfect)  Oh, did I mention I planned my departing/final night on my birthday?  The wheels of promotion were spinning and we had laminated invitations (anyone still have one?) and what better day to see 30 of my friends.

The weeks that would follow would seem long - work had been cut by 50% and my (ahem) free time was plenty.  Many voices/thoughts in my ears and some actually making it as far as my brain.  A few of them my own.  An epiphany here and there and even some spine straightening.

And then... Open Concept Productions.  A bit of a misnomer as my new, barely affordable, apartment would be "open concept" and home to my new production/booking company.

Between myself and the first March, 1999 show and Open Concept Productions and the upcoming November 8, 2006 show, the grand total will be 750 bookings.

Oh, and yes, there was a return to Free Times under significantly improved work conditions.

I will shorten and end "History I" by saying Open Concept has become more than just a booking/production company to me.  It represents 7+ years of work and draining thought and blistering emotion and highs and heartbreaking lows.  It has forced professional and personal lines.  It has built professional respect and lifelong personal friendships.  It demonstrated to me and (hopefully) others friendship beyond friendship.  It is founded and stands on the grounds of Loyalty, Integrity, Creativity.  And somewhere in all those nights and performers I truly believe there is Art.

Thanks always for reading this far.

Myspace Party September 30th @ the Smiling Buddha
Current mood: silly

Yes, it's party time again.  This time we're celebrating Myspace.  The very reason you're reading this blog is you joined Myspace, perhaps on a whim, perhaps to ACUTALLY meet REAL people, maybe just because you like stalking people over the internet, maybe to listen to some tunes, maybe you didn't want to pay to get a real website and myspace is a cheap alternative, maybe because you have a pet you really really love and they've learned to type and you feel giving them a myspace page validates their existence in ways feeding and caring for them doesn't

Or for whatever reason you joined, you're here and reading this regardless.

Myspace is kind of addictive at first.  Not in a caffeine or crack-cocaine kind of way.  It just is.  You can check out music that's top notch (or not) without paying for it.  You can check out people who are top notch (or not) without paying for them.

After a while, that novelty can wear off (or not), you require sleep, have to go back to work and it's necessary to get back to the real world and stop typing and be part of the lives of real human beings.

That doesn't mean Myspace isn't great and you can't enjoy it.  Indeed it is great!  I've met some fine real life human beings on Myspace.  Including one who is very cute and affectionate in a way a small pet or favourite toy isn't.

So.... We're having a Myspace Party on Saturday September 30 @ the Smiling Buddha (961 College St. Toronto) to celebrate Myspace and get us all away from our computer screens and into the real world once again and meet real people --- we're hoping real people who are part of the Myspace greatness.  In fact, we've planned Live Music and a Dance-of-Greatness in an upright position as part of the Party.

At the party you'll be able to meet and listen to the very fine music of some of my TOP FRIENDS (seek out Tom Glenne, Kerri Ough, Joel Archambault, Jeremy Parnell).  There will be other Myspacers there you can meet - I guarantee at least 2 more.

Party starts at 8:30ish or 9pm.  Goes to they kick us out or our legs stop moving.

Look cute.  Dress sharp.  It's the best way to meet new friends.

Non-Myspacers are welcome (although probably not reading this).
Tell your friends to come.  Your real life friends I mean.

Okay, Myspace ones too.

There'll be door prizes and Myspace, uh, stuff.
See you there,
Ryan
