Please....please....please forward a link to this blog! I think that it is time that we all get a sense of humor and realize how we are all being played and start educating ourselves and get a backbone and make our own intelligent and informed decisions about real issues. Enough with politics as usual!
Come by and say hello....I’ve missed all of you!

First, let me say that it feels soooooo good to be back around Myspace and all of you, my wonderful friends! As you all know, I occassionally put up a quote that I borrow from my inspiring friend "This_isjust_M.
"There comes a moment when it's more than
just a game, and you either take that step
forward or turn around and walk away.
I could quit but here's the thing, I love the
playing field.... "
I love and post the quote for several reasons.... one, because baseball is my favorite sport and, two, because I do genuinely view life as something that we are supposed to have fun doing and I love to play the field in this game of life and, like the ballgirl in this video, I don't like sitting on the sidelines and want to be part of the game and have fun while I am doing it!
Sometimes though life has a way of throwing you some wild pitches and sometimes they are curve balls and you either duck or learn really quickly how to catch, lol! I have had some of those wild pitches lately and I have had to make some adjustments which has taken me away from blogging and writing for a spell. Change is never easy....but sometimes it is necessary and sometimes it can be simply wonderful and the changes I have been making in my life have been some of each....difficult, necessary and simpy wonderful.
Both personally and as a family, my husband and I had been dealing with the impact of one of life's puches and it had not been an easy situation for us as a family that has always been commited to being very involved with our children and very close as a couple. Again, both personally and as a couple, we found it necessary to make some changes and thru those changes I have regained pieces of myself that had been missing for some time and we have been blessed to once again be enjoying life together ... So what have I been up to during my hiatus from Myspace?? We have been busy going 4 wheeling with the kids, enjoying the sunshine at Galveston while playing at the beach, went to see Kid Rock in concert last weekend with Lynnard Skynnard (If you haven't seen him live which I have more than once....he is awesome!) and, of course, watching the Olympics particularly the men's gymanstics team with their ties to Houston where we live.
I have found myself again and am happy to say that I am really loving life and feeling good about things once I made those tough choices....and the choices I have made since then have re-energized me and invigorated me and have allowed me to put my life back into focus.
I know this blog is not my normal thing....and I promise that I will be back to posting poetry and catching up on reading blogs in the next day or two, but I just wanted to put up this "reintroduction", for lack of a better explanation, and say how much I have missed each of you that make a point to stop by my page and read.
I have been writing the past few days and will be posting some of my own work soon, but for now I wanted to share with all of you my current favorite song which is "Better as a Memory" by Kenny Chesney. I think we all have songs once in awhile that we wish we feel we could have written because their message speaks so personally to us and for me, even though this song is written from a man's perspective if I could change the word "man" at the end of each line to woman or friend then this would be one of those songs for me. My husband and I are going to go see Kenny Chesney, Leanne Rhymes and Gary Allan this weekend in concert and I am soooo looking forward to it!
I hope each of you is having as good of a time as we are right now and enjoying these last couple weeks of summer!
I move on like a sinners prayer And letting go like a levee breaks Walk away as if I don't care Learn to shoulder my mistakes Or built to fade like your favorite song Get reckless when there's no need Laugh as your stories ramble on Break my heart, but it won't bleed My only friends are pirates That's just who I am But I'm better as a memory than as your man
Never sure when the truth won't bend And pretty good on a lonely night Or move on the way a storm blows through And never stay, but then again, I might. I struggle sometimes to find the words Always sure until I doubt Walk a line until it blurs Build walls too high to climb out But I'm honest to a fault That's just who I am I'm better as a memory than as your man
I see you leaning, you're bound to fall I don't want to be that mistake I'm just a dreamer and nothing more You should know it before it gets too late
Cause goodbyes are like a roulette wheel You never know where they're gonna land First you're spinning, then you're standing still Left holding a losing hand But one day you're gonna find someone And right away you'll know it's true That all of your seeking's done It's just a part of the passing through Right there in that moment you'll finally understand That I was better as a memory than as your man Better as a memory than as your man

First, thanks Si for the inspiration for this piece…he posted a blog on his page called The 5 minute poem game in which one person would post a poem and then give the next "topic".The next writer had to write and post a poem based on the topic listed and then give the next writer a new "topic".When I joined the party, the topic I got was "Meat and Love", lol, thus the piece you just read above.
So please feel free to come by, read and leave a comment…and if you feel so inspired, please continue the game by writing a short poem and leaving a topic for the next reader.
I have written my poem….the next topic is "the pictures on my wall"
Have fun!
