Taking a break
Current mood: artistic
Category: Life
Hello everyone,
Things have been in stagnant waters lately. It's time for a change and Perfect Summer is ready to make that happen now. Adya will no longer be performing with Perfect Summer and I will be cancelling any future upcoming shows (including Hamtramk Blow-out) but stay tuned to the SEX GHOST! site for upcoming shows, new songs, and more things happening soon.
www.myspace.com/sexghostbeats
(Natasha's other music project)
Adya was a great addition to Perfect Summer, but as things change and people grow, things often grow apart.
Through collaboration between other musicians, I have been inspired and motivated. Look for something new from Perfect Summer in the future.
Thank you, Natasha

Keep up with us
Current mood: adored
Category: Life
Trying to take a little break. Trying to do something different. Trying to finish our second cd. Remixing and remixing here and there... looking for:
Someone to sit down with us and help master new songs. NICE touring bands to open up for (that promote thier own shows as well). New venues to play at (that we already haven't played at 10 times). Other music acts that incorporate other elements of art into their shows...... you know who you are if you do. Please talk to us. We're lonely. :-( ha. eh....
Also, there will be a call for extras soon. Local filmmaker Brandon Walley will be shooting our first live action music video (shot on black and white and 16mm film). We need extras for one scene. It will be shot at Detroit Film Center in Eastern Market sometime in January... probably on a Saturday night. More detailed info soon... just had it on my mind- thought i'd share. Drinks and food will be provided- also the capability of putting on your resume that you worked with Ann Arbor Film Festival voted BEST FILMMAKER of the year 2007 (ha... sorry had to mention that about Brandon).
Last month we had our Roland Phantom X stolen out of my car- got a new one shortly after. I never wanted a damn work station in the first place, I just really liked the voices on that model, so I did detective work and DUH- the Roland Juno D has the same damn voices on it. FUCK YOU Roland who told me that I would have to stick with the higher MORE EXPENSIVE models. Spent a third and love it. Also, got cases for the rest of our shit..... merry xmas to us. Why do you care? I don't know, maybe you can relate.
Just finished putting music to one of our videos we made for shows. It's very scary with the sounds added- it's not a music video and it's 18 minutes long. If you want to have a cry, watch it in the dark right next to an open closet door (that is what I did and I had to hurry up and run out of my room into the lighted next room where my grandpa was watching survivor or something. AHHHHHH

free chocolate
Current mood: cheerful
Category: Music
I feel like a ding dong.
We never update this and I thought that we should. wrote a little song bout it, like to hear it, here it go:
We are looking for:
Keyboardist
-must know how to play the keyboard/synth -must be able to drive to Lake Orion for practice and all over MI for shows -must be prepared to play shows possibly every weekend -must be able to get "down" and not say "not tonight, I have a headache" -must be 20-32 (sorry we're not babies but we want someone that can grow with us) -must be a boy or a girl -must not get offended easily -must be cool or rad
-must resemble this:
please message soon.
We have many shows coming up. Corktown Tavern this weekend with some pretty neato bands. I listened to 2 out of the four- la contessa and the looms-just noticed that la contessa has the hungry tummy project on their top eight! great! we played with them a while back and i really liked them. hopefully we'll happily meet more projects like them that we like and become best friends. forever.
well, seriously, it does get frustrating playing with a mish mosh line-up... it's like a community college general ed course.... just pick one and go with it... not very stimulating or inspiring. sorry, wearing my heart on my sleeve sometimes stings.
not to say it doesn't always work- like with what the future is doing... there is a mix but i also see a progression as the night goes on... there is momentum that is gained. they wouldn't start with something hard and go to something soft.........
sound guys are generally on santa's bad list. although i will have wonderful wet dreams about the ones that have done us well in the past. those ones should win awards and receive free white castle..... or ..... not.
maybe taco bell- but only after 2am.
--------sometimes i feel like my wheels are spinning but i am not getting anywhere----
still editing some footage of adya and i from when our friend daigle shot us in a boat. maybe that will be done soon.
five songs:
The Producer I'm Still Waiting Three Year Sleep Girls in Mirrors Pretty Movies
four to five to go.... summer 08 looks like a good date.
Looking for:
Local, up and coming sound mixer/master/king/superhero who would like to work with us on this.... I did the last mix.... want to see what fresh ears would do.
i really wish i had time to do a musical---- an animated musical... woah.................

new songs, new project
Current mood: impressed
Category: Music
ok pals- there are four new songs done for the next album:
I'm Still Waiting Three years The Producer Shake Me
"I'm Still Waiting" is NOT TOTALLY mastered BUT we wanted to put it up because we really wanted to have a new song up.
Also, I am still working on Girls In Mirrors video and song... so five on the new album so far.
I am currently working on another project with an end result of a compilation cd with at least 6 different producers on it- me doing vocals and some keyboard and sequencer work here and there. There are two songs totally finished:
Hide and Seek w/ Patrick (Ghoulie) Move on Me w/ Todd Cochell
Speaking of Move on Me... Todd isn't writing me back so who knows if I will have "permission" to release that one. Hmm.... we'll see. I really like it so lets hope so.
Two more songs with Ghoulie are on thier way (Ghoulie and I have something more up our sleeves though.... ;-) ya! )
Wes and I have started a song and I am waiting on Brandon Walley, Jeff Stire, and Chris Feistimel (bad spelling, sorry feisty) to finish others.
Anison gave me one but it just wasn't my thing, but I do expect him to choose another one (a duet) with him.
I will bring cd's and stickers over to Asia with me so hopefully I can win over some Asianic hearts. ha... wish me luck on my trip! I will miss my family and friends- first show when I get back is in March!

IMIMIII rained out :-(
Category: Music
We got rained out at the IMIM fest :-( which was soooo sad. We got there late because we couldn't find it in Bay City and then we were able to catch Marhamar and A Ferret named Polo and then the rain and thunder and lightening came to ruin everything. blah....
We really wanted to play somewhere that day and were even willing to stop in at some random bar and tell them that we would set up and play if they would let us but then Stephan said we could go to his old roommate's apt in fint and throw a party and play the party so we did just that.
It was really fun but would of been way cooler if the high school wrestling team with no shirts on didn't show up. ha ... i don't know if they were the wrestling team or in highschool, but they were pretty lame. ha oh well.
All in all it was a good saturday. whoever took pics should post them!

CAID SHOW
Category: Music
minus the mosquitos (is that spelled right?), the show at CAID was great. we were worried for two minutes about it raining but then we got over it. the films after our set were great too. I like how the DFC is joining forces with other Detroit non-profits and making fun enjoyable nights for everyone.
so now i know i can survive the worst (missing band members, either due to sickness or prior obligations). let's just hope i never have to play a show SOLO> ha... :-(
thanks again everyone! natasha
our website is NOT totally finished but here ya go: www.perfectsummermusic.com (www.perfectsummer.com was taken!!!! ????)

What Ypsi has to say about Perfect Summer
Current mood: chipper
Category: Music
Washtenaw County's Entertainment Source, CURRENT says that, "Perfect Summer plays chipper girltronica, like Le Tigre removed from sloganeering or Brazil's Cansei De Ser Sexy. Possibly more fun than the tight seating of Dreamland Theatre can contain".
Thanks :-)

The Locker Room show
Current mood: creative
Category: Music
well, sorry no new pics have been posted from the locker room show cause i am in arizona for a few days trying to erase my mind of personal disasters.... but on a lighter note:
the show was fantastic. what a great time besides the fact that we forgot our remote controls for our tv sets so no images were shown. oh well, we'll get it next time. it was my bday party so everyone was in good spirits until i think the alcohol started showing some seriously emotional effects. everyone seemed to go crazy. luckily it was AFTER our set.
if anyone has any pics to send me, send them to perfectsummer@gmail.com
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CAME OUT TO SUPPORT! love you
