New Summer Rain Releases

The boys and girls at Summer Rain are putting out new outstanding material and it would be a dirty rotten sin to deprive you all of the excellent music my labelfriends put out. Get into gear and shop yourself some gems!!

About 9 - Comfortable Silence EP

About 9's debut release is a melting pot of organic instrumentation, electronic soundscapes, with a mixture of live drums and electronic beats. A sound reminiscent of Bonobo and Four Tet in places, but equally unique and timeless.

new song: particle accelerator
Current mood: contemplative

new song in the player. Had fun.

I have no idea why I call it particle accelerator. Why do people call a tree a tree?
Maybe I called it like I called it because I can't make you smell it.

This song is all that is the case (with regard to this song that is)

grace to you.

lonely when I slide

Been a busy couple of weeks, causing me to have produced exactly zero new tracks.

Then again, what I've been doing has definitely been worthwhile and I'm positive I'll be doing way more of that in the future.

Still, stuff itches and if all goes well, I'll be putting out new material in a month.

In the meanwhile, let me just give you a taste of things to come. I'm returning to what I love most, simple songs, minimal or no electronica and a truckload of emotion.
lonely when I slide will definitely be worked out with the help of some gifted musicians but until then the core of the song is already here for you to listen to.

Let me know what you think.

thanks for listening,

Peter

KiloWatts & Vanek - Focus & Flow
Category: Music

KiloWatts & Vanek
Focus & Flow
2008 End Of Time Records
Listen and Purchase Here

Four years after their first offering, KiloWatts and Vanek have teamed up again to create a journey through their familiar fusion of epic existential storytelling and cutting edge electronic intricacy. James Watts's technological precision and ethereal melodic intuition, combined with Peter Van Ewijk's dreamlike lyrical exploration of consciousness and confusion create a spectacular synthesis of a visionary dimension.

Today was a great day

So we had our first full band rehearsal for the stand up show and honestly it rocked all kinds of socks. Four guys having a lot of fun while slowly moving into the right musical direction, fun fun fun.

We have a stellar rap, that is going to be so over the top, slow intense songs, a waltz and a couple of genuine, bonafide dutch popthingies. The only fear now, is that my textual shit is going to be a little too light. Better work my ass off on that one.

Other news:

Two EP's coming out in March at Summer Rain Recordings. Polaroids will feature four new uptempo songs. Beneath the Cool will feature one new song with a couple of remixes from other cool artists.

Recently I have worked with a very talented Dutch musician called Julian Edwardes and we created a song that has been haunting my mind for quite some time now. As sson as Julian is satisfied with it, we'll both post it on our myspace. In the meantime, go check his stuff out, he's in my top friends.

I might have some extra news soon regarding Kilowatts & Vanek, but that is still pending further talks. Keep an ear out though.

And the following days will be festive, which means I'm probably going to lock myself up and make some music or read some books. I might even make YOU a song. Just message me, give me a subject, a painting, an image, another song or a story and I'll turn it into song!

Keeping busy during those godawful holidays.

cheers,

p
