Six Pack, Stinky Finger and the Long Ride Home: Road Games (1981)
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities
ROAD GAMES Director: Richard Franklin 1981
Hey Richard! A suspense movie is supposed to have suspense. Especially if you're your catchline is "A State Of Suspense"! Franklin is a big fan of Alfred Hitchcock but this homage to Hitchcock isn't anything like the great Alfred, hell its not even like that pommy nutter Robyn, no this movie is more like Billy Hitchcock the infamous one eyed half back flanker for the Mungarribibbi's C grade side. But at least if Billy had directed the damn movie it would have been shorter.
There's a killer loose on the Australian highways chopping up young hitch hikers – we know this because we see him kill a girl in his motel room before the opening credits. That's the only one we do see. He's a very lazy killer. Instead, he's playing mind games with a truck driver played by Stacy Keach. What this yankee is doing driving trucks across the Nullarbor is never quite explained but he's here so we'll just have to put up with him. Anyway, Keach talks to himself a lot (well, his dog actually) so if you don't like him you may as well turn the movie off now. Unfortunately I couldn't turn it off so I had to put up with his monologue for an hour and a half. I felt sorry for the dog though, he was stuck in the cab with him at least I could get up for a piss and another beer.

From the Bowels of Hell: Joshua (2007)
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities
STARRING: SAM ROCKWELL AS BRAD, VERA FARMIGA AS ABBY, JACOB KOGAN AS JOSHUA
TAGLINE: THE STORY OF A PERFECT BOY WHO HAD A PERFECT PLAN.
PLOT: THE ARRIVAL OF A NEWBORN GIRL CAUSES THE GRADUAL DISINTEGRATION OF THE CAIRN FAMILY.
MY REVIEW: THE MOVIE STARTS OUT WITH THE BIRTH OF A BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL TO BRAD AND ABBY CAIRN. THEY ALL READY HAVE A 9 YEAR OLD NAMED JOSHUA. JOSHUA DOES NOT SEEM TO BE GETTING THE ATTENTION HE WANTS NOW THAT THE BABY HAS ARRIVED. WHILE THE BABY IS GETTING ALL THE ATTENTION FROM GRANDMA AND GRANDPA AND MOM AND DAD, JOSHUA DECIDES TO VOMIT ON THE LIVING ROOM FLOOR TO JUST GET SOME ATTENTION.

Hungry [for the 80’s] Like The Wolf: Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986)
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities
As most of you know, the horror genre is my absolute favorite. It started when I first watched John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN when I was about 5 years old and I've never looked back since. Now at 27, I don't get creeped out or scared by many horror films, old and new, anymore. I just find them to be enjoyable entertainment and a nice escape from reality.
However, there are some films that don't let you escape from the real world. They bring about this illusion of reality by bringing a sort of documentary style to subject matter that we hear all the time in the news and on those crime shows you can watch on cable or satellite. One of these films is 1986's HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER. Based on serial killer, Henry Lee Lucas [who claimed to have murdered about 3000 people but have been considered false accounts], HENRY is an 83 minute vehicle to give viewers a glimpse into the darker side of the human psyche and show us that we all possess that characteristic in each and every one of us. Watching a man murder people because he can isn't enjoyable entertainment. As a matter of fact, it's downright disturbing. If HENRY doesn't creep you out, I have no idea what will.
