(8/16/08) As the summer winds down.

We are pumping things up!
Let me just start by saying, I wrote this long nice blog a few days ago and then by mistake closed the window and lost EVERYTHING! So I was so aggravated, I just couldn't sit there for another hour writing it. So here it goes again.
Firstly, we're in the midst of talks with a potential manager! This person is very interested in working with us and we're looking forward to working with them. So we'll see what happens in the next few days.
If you've been to see us in the past few weeks you'll know that we've unleashed a new tune called "Figure It Out" - a fun little ditty about finding that someone. If you haven't heard it yet, be sure'n keep an ear out.
So far this month we've had two really cool acoustic shows. One down in Trenton and the other in NYC. This here is a video from our performance @ Capital City Market on 8/7/08
The following night 8/8/08 - a lucky night indeed - we played @ Googie's lounge - which is located right above the Living Room in NYC. We opened for our friend Joe Raciti. He and his crew of talented musicians performed a cabarettesque set of comically infused musical brilliance. I truly loved the set. The songs were charmingly silly and captivating. Be sure'n check him out! If his chops and hi-jinx don't float your boat then, Catherine's angelic voice will! Check them out! He's got a great program every once in a while there called, Everyone You Need to Know. It's worth checking out.
The video is moving incredibly slow. Our apologies.
You should be getting a newsletter from Stephanie one of these days... Not sure what the hold up is on that.
There are some really good gigs coming up, be sure to come out - and whether you can make it out or not.... spread the word and get friends and friends of friends to come out!!!
BIG NEWS! We got the first mix back from David Henry of "Teardrops" (Full band edition) - and it's sounding outrageous. We're so stoked for the completion of this track.
I've also been working every waking hour with our good friend (who assisted engineering our last album) Kyle Cadena over @ Red Sun Recording studio to get our other B-Side tracks up and ready for mixing soon. We've been busting our tails on them and they'll be ready this week.
We're also going to be laying down guitars on some of the new recordings we're doing in Aleks' house. Yaz'll be playing guitars on,"Fill Your Head", "Blissful Ignorance" and "Trying to Dream For You". We've dug up good ole' mr. Tom Spears to play guitars on "Can't Get You Outta My Head", we're very excited to be working with so many musicians of such a high caliber.
There is more to tell you but I'm getting tired of typing. I'll get you updated soon.
I'm working at Homefront Studios right now helping DM the rehearsal for Bern and the Brights... you need to check them out too, they're amazing.
I'm so sorry to have tell ya'll this - but our North East tour has ben postponed. Or should I say postpwnd.
The promoter has to reschedule and - thus we must abide. So, don't ya'll worry we're working on a new date asap. We're hoping to be up there as early as September some time. We're really sad about this, but it's going to work out in the end. Now we'll have more notice and more time to promote! So please keep the buzz up, WE'RE COMING - it's just a matter of time...
A little about our show the other night...
Friday night @ Havana in New Hope - DAMN - we had an awesome time. What a wonderful venue, the received us really well. We had a great turn out of friends and local regulars. The dance floor was pumpin (especially to our select disco hits). We'll be back there for sure.
The highlight of that night was the introduction of the Beast Legend Horns. The BLH are led by our good buddy Patrick Smith on trumpet and included, James Lawrence on the saxes and introducing Mr. Cameron MacMannus on trombone.
It was a great opportunity to try them out on huge live room filled with people on a nice stage with mics for everyone and such. It was totally sweet and we hope ya'll get to see the whole kit and kabootle soon.
Friday night we'll be playing with our good buddies the Defending Champions @ Kenny's Castaways in NyC. Should be an EXCELLENT time. Be sure to come!

(7/19/08) Lineup adjustments - NE Tour HAPPENING
Current mood: crunk
Ladies and gentlemen, WAZZZUUUUPPP?
I hope you're all having a wonderful summer, I know I sort of am. I feel like I've been so busy, I haven't even considered enjoying it - aside from playing some great gigs.
We've had some really great gigs in the past week. Our 7/5 Ringside show was a REALLY great time. Thank you to all ya'll good friends, new friends, old fans and new fans for showing your shining faces that night. *Rahter than trecking down to Belmar to pump your fists at Djais (Joke targeted @ our local NJ fans).
As for our lineup changes - Nothing's been perminant but for the time being, Ya'll know my brother Nick, Guitarist/stud extraordinare - has been with us for the past several weeks ROCKING extremely hard. He'll be with us pretty steadily for the next couple gigs until Eric gets back from touring with Julius C.
Our good friend James Lawrence has been filling in for Shooby on sax for the past few gigs and will be with us until August 1st. He's doing a terrific job, be sure to get out to a show before he's gotta ship back to IU.
The fabulous and handsome Patrick Smith will be returning to the Philth for our Havana New Hope gig next week - so ya'll be ready for some serious Trumpet action.
NOW - good news and bad news about the New England tour.
Bad news first - It's not really a tour.... it's actually just 2 days in a row. A Thursday and a Friday. Thursday 8/21 - The Hungry Tiger [Manchester, CT] Right outside Hartford Friday 8/22 - Tommy Doyles [Boston, MA] Center of the city, Harvard Sq area.
The other bad news is that we're not going up to Vermont, the land of B Mack. However, he MAY be uniting with us in Boston to form the ultimate Mack Harmonic. So stay tuned and we'll find out.
{+}VIDEO NEWS {+} There hasn't been much progress with the video in the past month, we've been trying to arrange schedules so that everyone can meet up and do this thing, it's been tough. But don't worry - we're not losing faith and neither is the crew. Once we get started, things are going to move QUICKLY!
//.... NEW RECORDINGS //.... Okay, so as we've told you before we're recording a handful of new tracks. In the next week or so, David Henry is going to have his loving mits on our FULL BAND version of Teardrops, which is going to blow you away. The tunes we've been recording on our own - are ones you've been hearing at shows recently, "Fill Your Head", "Trying to Dream For You", "Blissful Ignorance", and "Can't Get You Outta My Head". Right now we've got all the drums, all the bass, some of the keys and all the acoustic guitars done. I'm really excited about this because as it stands we're going to be able to have Eric and Tommy play on these recordings. We'll be adding more tracks and Nick's going to be on some of those - so we're looking at a wide spectrum of influences in the songs, which we're all really looking forward to.
))*|*(( We're still looking for print media to review our CD and/or our live show - so if you or anyone you know is involved in that... or knows someone who is - PLEASE get in contact with me and let me know how to make it happen! The CD will be ONE YEAR OLD in October, so it's important we get some more press before we reach that mark. Thanks everyone.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND, WE'LL SEE YOU AT BAR 46 TONIGHT!!!
(7/2/08) Boston here we come! (Your help needed)
Category: Music
Hey ya'll! You read it right! We're heading up the North East of the USA towards Boston! (Actualy Cambridge, but close enough!)
We're going to be at Tommy Doyle's in August and we're trying to put together a north eastern weekend, we need your help!
8/20 - NEED HELP BOOKING 8/21 - NEED HELP BOOKING 8/22 - Tommy Doyles [Cambridge, Ma] 8/23 - NEED HELP BOOKING 8/24 - NEED HELP BOOKING
Yea, I know it's not much of a tour yet but we're working as hard as we can. A few places look promising, such as the Hungry Tiger in Manchester, CT. We'll see!
Stephanie is finally back from her little vacation and back HARD to the grind stone. It was a difficult week for me not having her local. I'm not used to not having her near! I was flipping out a little bit. But I got a lot of things done during that week - one of which is fix up my battered vintage Fender Rhodes. And I finished up the deal on my NEW FENDER STRATOCASTER. As you can imagine I'm a very excited young man this week.
We've got a standard 'Ringer' show coming up this weekend. It's going to be interesting because who knows who'll be around or down the shore. Our trusty sound guy Phil will not be with us this weekend so it's all on me and my new system.
As I'm sure all of you avid music followers know - Guns N' Roses' album Chinese Democracy the long anticipated mysteryfest was leaked to the interweb this week. Of course, I've obtained a copy of it... and it's fantastic. I can't wait till good ole Axl releases this damn thing for real so I can buy my copy. I mean, this thing is GOOD.
Another good album that came out recently (other than Coldplay's new Viva La Vida and Death and all of His Friends - which is also fantastic) is Chris' band's new CD - The All New Cheap Moves.Unfortunately it's only 4 songs, but they're all REALLY good. Visit their myspace to figure out how you can get your copy. My personal favorite song from the album is "Pretty Thing".
If you haven't seen it yet - Live Hub a cool indie music site out of a Chicago suburb featured an interview with us on their site. Here's pt 1 - pt 2 to come soon! It's total cheese but it's entertaining for sure!
In other news, we're going to be featured in an interview soon on www.slideshowradio.com we're excited about that. Our good friend Josh interviewed us and selected some of our best photos to sync up to the audio interview. Not sure when that's launching - you'll be the first to know.
As for the video - we're waiting to hear from Stephanie about one of the locations to see if and when we'll be filming the live band shots. It's going to be a bit delayed because our guitarist extraordinare Eric Lindberg is ON TOUR WITH OUR FRIENDS JULIUS CFOR THE MONTH OF JULY!!! So we'll let you know what's up with that. While Eric is away my fantastic brother Nick will be sitting in doing an amazing job as always helping us out. We're truly indebted to him for all the times he's bailed us out in Eric's absence! Keep an eye out for Nick's band's release - coming soon.
I am just salivating over the fact that David Henry is going to be working on 'Teardrops' (Full band version) for the video pretty soon. This is REALLY exciting for me. I can't wait to see what he comes up with.
The fantastic Patrick Smith is going to be returning to the Philth for the duration of the Summer to do what he does best - PWN THE TRUMPET! He may be bringing some friends along to fill in the void that's been in my heart for a while. A HORN SECTION? Well, nothing's for sure but it's rumored that the amazing Cameron MacManus may be T-Boning it up at some point. This is exciting.
We're continuing to work on tracks @ Aleks' house and they're sounding great. Finally, you're going to get to hear some tracks that you've been hearing live for over a year RECORDED and pimped out.
There's a lot of big stuff going on right now. Please remember to talk up our CD and get all your friends, relatives, aquaintences and even enemies to consider buying it!
Don't forget that it's on ITUNES, AMAZON, NAPSTER, RHAPSODY, EMUSIC AND A TON OF OTHER RETAILERS!
If you're an international fan, it's on Itunes Europe, Australia and Canada!
Please stay connected with us and stop by and leave some comments on our page - in the blog and on our pictures! Let us know you're still there!
Love you all, stick with us, we're going places bitches.
(6/8/08) Pool water will not rid you of Philth (a message from Stephanie!)
In fact it just makes you more philthy...
Performances: We just played some really cool shows this week- Wed night we rocked the Rockwood in NYC, acoustic style, and Vienna Teng jumped on stage with us after she performed her own set! Fri night we traveled north to jam in Washington Township at Mediterranean Bistro where Robbie had the best Lamb he's ever had and I had some pretty awesome Snapper. Patrons let the drinks flow while we entertained outside- we all had a blast! Sat night the whole Philth went south to Trenton where we made some noise at everyone's favorite local watering hole- Mill Hill Saloon.
Some upcoming show dates so we can see your pretty faces :) 8 Jun 2008 5:00 P Twisted Tree Cafe [Acoustic] (Chick Singer Night!) Asbury Park
11 Jun 2008 8:00 P Mexicali Blues [Chick Singer Night] Teaneck, New Jersey

18 Jun 2008 9:00 P The Whiskey Bar Hoboken, New Jersey

Studio News: We are currently working on some recordings for the 2nd Philthy album. So far we've got rhythm tracks for "Can't Get You Outta My Head", "Broken", "Fill Your Head", and "Blissful Ignorance". We're not sure yet what we will do with these- maybe a Philthy EP release with these and "King of Wishful Thinking"- we'll see!
Music Video: We're working hard to get things moving on our first music video for "Teardrops". We've met with our team who is doing an incredible job at pulling pictures and ideas from my head- sorta how Robbie pulls instruments and arrangements from my head and makes them even better. We have a solid visual conception and have even picked a location. Can't wait for it all to come together!!
Don't forget to visit our MySpace for even more upcoming show dates and PLEASE bring your friends or even strangers- pull em off the street on your way.
XOXO Stephanie and her Handsomes

We're constantly playing shows - it's obvious - you can see that on our calender. But often we'll revisit places we've been already. This week we've been breaking into new places we've never been before!
We made our debut @ the fantabulous Rockwood Music Hall last night. And what a debut it was! Albeit we had the MIDNIGHT ON A TUESDAY slot, the show went incredibly well. We were fortunate enough to be playing right after our friends Vienna Teng, Alex Wong and Amber Rubarth. What made the night really special was that Vienna came up and sat in with us on our rendition of "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt, providing some lovely piano atmosphere and beautiful vocal harmonies and "ooh's and ahhh's". It was a great way to start off over there. She's sucha sweetie!
Friday night we're going to be @ Mediteranian Bistro for the first time and we had a really great radio interview W/ Steve over at WRNJ Radio just this afternoon to hype it up. Saturday night we're going to be rocking out at the Mill Hill Saloon in Trenton - it's our debut there too! Sunday we're going to be at the Twisted Tree Cafe in Asbury Park! We'll be there again the follwing friday so if you miss the first one you'll have a 2nd chance... or if you dig it enough, come 2x!
Just a little update. The guys from Jersey Fresh TV didn't make it to our show in Trenton last week and we're waiting to see when they can get their ish together so we can do a spot with them! We're really excited and can't wait to get that off the ground.
Similarly we're going to be uploading a video interview to youtube for a Myspace site called Live Hub. We were going to do it today but Stephanie needed to shower first... which takes hours. So we're going to do it tomorrow. ;) As soon as it's posted, you'll know!
Also, last week we did a 'Living Room Session' on William Paterson's Brave New Radio 90.3! It was an awesome live performance and story telling session consisting of Stephanie, Myself and Chris. Keep your ears out for that.
SEE YOU THIS WEEKEND!

So here's the scoop! Tomorrow we've got our debut for the Trenton Downtown concert series. We'll be performing our first Wednesday's on Warren (Corner of Warren Street and Front Street). This'll be a great show - Stephanie, Chris and myself will be there rocking out an acoustic set from 11am to 2pm! Not only will we be performing out in the middle of our state capitol district, we'll be filming and interviewing with Tom and the guys from Jersey Fresh TV!
After we wrap that up, we'll be heading up to my alma mater - William Paterson University to do another acoustic performance, this time broadcast on the radio! So please tune in at 6:30 to 90.3FM and check us out if you're in the North Jersey area!
Then! Thursday night we make our debut @ Gavin and Joey DeGraw's new club, the National Underground in NYC. Please come by and help make our first appearance at the venue a special and momentous night! We'll be hitting at 11pm!
NOW, NEWS ABOUT THE VIDEO. As Stephanie mentioned, we are going to be filming a music video for an as yet, UNRELEASED version of "Teardrops". My good friend Sam and his crew @ DNI Productions will be producing it and just this past Saturday we were introdued to our soon to be director, Anthony.
We've got such an enthusiastic crew behind the visual aspect of this - we're feeling great. As for the sound (which... well we make music... so it's important to us too)... We recorded this track with an amazing lady, Patty @ her home studio and we're taking the track to have it mixed by the amazing David Henry. Once we've got it completed, we'll have it available for you! But this is not going to be a quick process, we're anticipating by the end of the summer if not the Fall.
Now to back track a bit. Let's look back at the weekend.
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY! Much respect to all those who have served, are serving and will serving this great country. We truly appreciate your service!
This Saturday we were lucky enough to be asked to play @ the Collingswood May Fair. It was a terrific time. We played two sets and enjoyed the lovely town, weather and dirty water dogs. The audiences were extremely warm and welcoming - we couldn't have been more comfortable. Unfortunately, during our second set - the sound man must have had too much of the whackey mustard from the hot dogs and we had some RIDICULOUS issues with the sound. There was static, crackleing, honking, feedback, whirring, screeps, beeps, creeps and even sweeps. At one point Stephanie sounded like she was in a giant cavern and I announced us as "Stephanie White and the Intergalactic Rockers" or something.... it was absurd!
But thankfully, the audience could tell we were actually rocking out and playing well, so they redirected their distain for the sound toward the appropriate parties.
Honestly though, it wasn't that bad. We're looking forward to next year and some more events down in Collingswood at the end of the summer! Stay tuned for those.
Anyway, early morning tomorrow. Must turn in! Good night all! See you at the shows!
Bitter End? Relax we’re just playing.

(4/28/08) Alternative Soul Awards - Cafe Vivaldi this Thursday!
Current mood: animated
Well now, just got in from the Alternative Soul Awards @ the Planet Rose restaurante in the Tropicana Casino - down in Atlantic City.
Our humble host for the evening was the legendary Raymond Tyler. As you all know we guested on his radio show 'Alternative Soul' a few weeks ago [90.7FM WLFR - Richard Stockton College Radio] - The show airs 2-4pm every Friday afternoon, so tune in and request our track, "Girls Got Expenses".
Tonight was a great experince. Stephanie, Myself, Chris and Eric 'Yaz L' Lindberg, were there at the awards show - representing the NJ Philth the best way we knew how - performing. We had to play a little early in the night (so there weren't that many people there when we played, but it filled up as the night went on) because Yaz had to play is THIRD gig of the evening, what a trooper. We played, "Girls Got Expenses" and our new track that people have really been feelin' "Trying to Dream for You".
There were some akward moments for us during the night but nothin' to strange (ask and maybe I'll elaborate ;). We wern't nominated for an award this year because I didn't get our album to Raymond until after the selection process for 2007 was completed, however - he made it pretty clear that we'll most likely be a nominee for an award next year... which is VERY exciting.
So at this time I'd like to congratulate all the winners - nominees and performers from the night. It was a great night for undiscovered talent. Seriously, some INCREDIBLE poets and musicians were there all night and it was an honor to be sharing the stage with them (albeit a SMALL ASS STAGE!).
So, after our performance (Eric had to jet to a gig in New Hope, PA) - Chris and Stephanie were less than enthusiastic about heading downstairs to the Casino area. And I put up a bit of a fight because, why go to AC if you're not going to spend a few minutes on the floor at least, right?! We went downstairs and I blew a few bucks in the slot machines, I never play them... I don't know why I did. Stephanie blew a few bucks... and then... Chris - or should I say (as it says on our flyer) Christ Staranka, puts a buck into the machine next to Stephanie and .... WINS $600!!!! Unbelieveable! What a great night for him. Let's take bets on what he does with that...I suggested put it in an ING Direct account, Stephanie said go on vacation... he suggested buying hookers... But, not to exploit sexually - to play Mario Kart (for Nintendo 64) with. All of which are completely reasonable options. Got any? Let us know.
Working backwards, Saturday night - we played at the Ringside Pub. It was a pretty good time. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JANEANE!!! We love you, and couldn't be happier that you decided to have your Birthday party with us over at the Ringer. That means a lot that you wanted to be with us on your big night! We added a few new cover songs for our 3hour set there this week which included, "Love Song" by Sara Bariellis and "I Wanna Be Your Lover" by Prince. Highlights from the night included, Carla (Stephanie's newly engaged sister) singing along with us to "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz during our acoustic set. The full band performance of "Trying To Dream For You" - where Aleks, pwned up some really nasty sounds and a great solo. And my favorite part was when I got Eric and Shooby to do a little solo battle/trading at the end of our song, "Try to Understand".
Flashback to Friday.
Friday night we performed at the Unitarian Church in Montclair w/ the FANTASTIC, adorable, talented, sweet and just amazing Vienna Teng. This was our first performance for the Outpost in the Burbs concert series and it was a total hit. Stephanie and I did an acoustic set and the audience was LOVING IT! I was truly impressed with the quality of the performance that night. The hall sounded great, the audience was 100% attentive and Stephanie and I were feelin' it - on. Stephanie and I signed CD's (and pants) between our set and Vienna's and received some really wonderful comments from everyone there - from Staff to patron. It was a really great experience. It was also quite an honor to be included among the calibur of people who perform at those outpost shows, Patty Griffin, John Gorka, GLEN PHILLIPS... When Vienna hit the stage the place was electric and she was incredible. Voice was pure and on point. Piano chops out the wazoo! Check her out immediately if you haven't already. Check out the track 'Harbor' - fabulous stuff. Seriously. Oursetlist for the night was, 1. Rogue 2. Trying to Dream For You 3. Here We Go Again... 4. Broken 4. At Last (at least I think that was it)
Now, to this week!
WOW - CAFE VIVALDI IS UPON US! I'm very, very excited about this. It's going to be a sort of acoustic/full band show.
Aleks'll be playing the grand piano they've got in there. I'll be playing acoustic guitar and some percussion or drum stuff depending. Shooby'll be on sax and maybe some fluteage, Chris on bass and Stephanie on the vocals obviously.
Please come by, there is no cover at this show - it's a tips only situation - so we need you to come out - enjoy yourself and then if you're diggin it - throw money at us. We really need it.
Anyway, hope to see you Thursday night in NYC! GOOD NIGHT! -Rub
