Kulak’s Woodshed Release Show!

Hey Kids!

I just wanted to remind everyone, we'll be doing our 'Official Release' show this friday at Kulak's Woodshed... (Details are under the 'Upcoming Gigs' on our page).

If you're an out-of-towner, you can still be there, via live streaming video: Just log-on to kulakswoodshed.com and it's as though you were in the room! ...They have quite an elaborate camera system, watch out for the boom camera! ;)

We'll have copies of APPLES for sale at the show (And Dave and I will be happy to ruin the cover art with autographs if you'd like! HAHA! ...A few people asked me about signed copies).

Mostly, we just want to celebrate with our friends, and your presence will add to the joy of the event, so come on out and have fun with us on the 22nd!

Much Love to you all,
Earl Grey

Multiple Boxes of APPLES arrived at my door today...

Well well well...

Here we go kids!

APPLES is OFFICIALLY released, TODAY! Those of you who have pre-ordered from Amazon.com should get your copies, post-haste.

I'm SO proud of our CD, I think all of you guys & dolls will be surprised by the eclecticism and high standards adhered to in the production of APPLES: 'Never A Dull Moment' was our motto from square-one, and I think our jams (Sweet Apple Jams?) met the tippity-top highest bough of the tree!

It's a good day. Life is sweet. Can't wait for y'all to hear it!

Much love, star-spun wonder,... and here's to the bright future!

Earl Grey, and his partner in crime, Dave Piper.

APPLES fall from the tree on August 19th!

Hey Kids!

Well... We're just two weeks and some pocket change away from the release of 'APPLES', which is a milestone in this traveler's map of voyages...

When Dave and I first set out to record Apples, we had one common vision: To create an 'album', not just a collection of songs; That there would be a continuity to our work which wasn't construed. That we would court the Muse in tandem, that we wouldn't hold back. That we'd give it our all, and walk away with our dreams intact.

18 months after stepping into the studio, I feel we've achieved our goal.

Why APPLES?

Well, there's the Judeo-Christian Genesis aspect of the forbidden fruit...

There's the legendary apple of genius which hit Isaac Newton on the noggin...

There's George Washington chopping down the apple tree... Oh damn, that doesn't work.

Perhaps we are simply Apple Bonkers from The Yellow Submarine movie, here to bonk you with our combined stories and our madcap poetry, a vision of the world through cider-colored shades. ;)

It's about our lives, our wives, our loves, our children, and all the crazy stuff which fills the frame of honesty.

All of that and more.

I'm proud of the work, and I hope you enjoy APPLES as much as I do!

Much Love,

Peace,

Earl Grey.

"Apples" is closer to completion..
Category: Music

Piper~Grey's first album, "Apples" is close to completion...working with Burleigh Drummond of Ambrosia fame (long time percussionist for that band), Earl Grey and David Piper have been chipping away at this project. A spring release is very possible. The album features many co-writes by Piper~Grey, written predominantly in the last two years which is how long the duo has performed publicly.

Bean Town 8.3.07
Category: Music

Bean Town was fun..Kaedmon couldn't make it but Greg Krueger of Kaedmon did, and sat in on many songs with his mandolin..He's a fine player.. Earl opened with an inspired 55 minute solo set, followed by the always great Lisa Johnson, and then Piper~Grey..
We will continue to record, and our next public appearance is Sept. 7, again at Bean Town in Sierra Madre, along the great songwriter-singers Paul Zollo and Robert Morgan Fisher..See you there!

Recording
Category: Music

Earl and I are in the process of recording our first album together. We are nearly halfway through the recording part of 13 songs. These are all original tunes, many of which we penned together. Burleigh Drummond of Ambrosia has been recording us, and co-producing at his home studio in Thousand Oaks. We are pleased with what he hear so far. There is much left to do, but we are confident that there will be a cd in hand come December!... This is not a Christmas album..but it just might make one helluva nice stocking gift.
