Almost there

Tonight is the last practice before Aida opens. I have had little to no time to do just about anything besides work, sleep, work again and drink a little bit(assuming I am willing to forgo some of the aofrmentioned sleep). Last night we performed in front of a large dress rehearsal audience. And it was envigorating. On August 9th I will Perform in the Opera Chorus and then run up capital hill to be interviewed on a live talk show. That should be fun. The city has returned to its comfortable grey state. I kind of prefer this, though I can definitely feel it affecting my mood.

I am entering a nostaligic time of my life again. My grandma's health is failing and as I recall memories of christmas past and other holiday I can actually see a whole family. Not even a concern of divorce. Mom is still alive. And my family as a whole was the black sheep, non religious, hethen covy. But real life has set in and the lines are much more blurred now. and there are gaps between family members and exp-ectations that no one could have predicted. But we gather around and show support in order to guide my grandma through the end of her life.

I recognize the tired devoted eyes I see in my grandpa and uncles. No energy or strength left, but unwilling to leave Grandma's side.

I am looking forward to the upcoming month. I will finally have a little time to spend with Sophie. She is so awesome and I am lucky to have her in my life. And then I can maybe be social again, play rock and roll and most definitely escape to the Oregon Coast. A place I have not been to since I spread my mother's ashes on the waters outside of Depoe Bay.

Ugh. I am tired.

Heart,
Jeffrey

Summer seems a bit busier every year.

I survived Noise for the needy again. It was amazing and I feel more energized for next year than I ever have before. I can't wait to have the funds tallied so we can give Urban rest Stop a Check.

Things I learned this year:

Sophie is awesome.
Rich is impressive.
Taking the week off was a very good idea.
this system works and can be invaluable for the Seattle area nonprofits.
Event production is tiring.

The day after the Talib show I was in the Seattle Opera costume shop getting fitted for Aida. And that night I was at my first practice. It was intense and I am very excited to sing in an italian opera. I feel honored to get the chance.

Goals this summer:
Visit my grandma in Hood River who is very ill
Try to make it to everyone's weddings.
Record some new Rosyvelt songs.
Film a Rosyvelt video
Perform in AIDA with the Seattle Opera
Get away to the beach or Mexico with Sophie
Write the world's best love song.
Play at least 2 or 3 shows with the new Rosyvelt lineup.
Perfect my Karaoke version of Otis Redding's Loving You too Long
Find no less that one perfect present for Sophie a week.
Reconnect with some old freinds.
Go to Soul night as many times as possible.

3 shows down! a lot to go

Both Black Angels shows tonight were amazing. And if you have not heard the Warlocks you are missing out! The Comet show was rather awesome as well. I love the direction the Hungry Pines are goin in! Thanks to the bands, volunteers and music fans that made it all happen. We truly appreciate it.

Looks like tomorrow's Two Gallants show is too close to selling out. And with the awesome lineups at Conor Byrne and Sunset Tavern, you might want to get their early.

1 day own 4 to go! See you there!

Windy Wendy

Currently...

The windows in my highrise are flexing as a result fo the wind storm. It is creepy and I am expecting some sot of Die Hard-esque implosion/explosion any moment.

Watch your words...

If you are to declare a crush for a movie star, make sure your brain is all there. Today I was trying to say the mother from Gilmore Girls is hot when I accidentally replaced said show with Golden Girls. All day at the office people have been sending me lude comments and picutres about Estelle Getty. In case this name illudes you knowledge, this is her.

http://www.estellegetty.com/main.html

Of Stop or my mom will shoot, Mannequin and Mask fame. I was unable to obtain a single young picutre of this woman anywhere so I had to take shit from my coworkers all day.

Estelle, why must our love be forbidden?

Heart,
Jeffrey

See Jeffy in the Opera starting Sat Aug 4th

That's right. A while ago I auditioned for the Seattle Opera Chorus and got in. It is now 2 months later and the show is upon us What is the name of said opera. The FLying Dutchman. One of the largest choruses in in the history of opera. It will be a spectacle for sure. And the bass/baritone singin gthe Ductchman part is fabulous. Anyways. You should come out. There are just a few $25.00 tickets left, the next level up is $25. I know it is expensive, but if you can work it into you budget, then I think you will enjoy yourself. Here is the link for tickets.

It has been too long...

This large heart of mine. it is pumping again. The crushes are left and right. People simply fascinate me lately. Is it just the spring horniness? There is some of that, but there are just always interesting new people who wander into my life. And I thank them for that.

Tonight I was at Jules Maes with Brent Amaker and the Rodeo for their birthday(Sugar and Brent). I partook of the the firewater a bit.. Thus  was a little shitfaced. I dawned a sombrero and played trumpet on a song. I helped serve birthday cake while doing whiskey shots. Then I spilled the birthday cake all over the monitor and stage while I was trying to stuff a piece in the guitarist's mouth.

The place was filled with super hot rockabilly chicks and  for some reason I am home now and I have a shredded pair of pants on. Particularly useless if one were trying to cover the crotchall area. Dear me. The nuns would not approve.

And I think I left a vehicle in Georgetown. Who is going to breakfast at Smarty Pants with me tomorrow so we can pick it up?

Heart,
Jefrrey

Hal Hartley and kissing scenes...

Movie: The Unbelievable Truth

Director: Hal Hartley

Final scene. All characters are arguing  and wandering off in various directions from a van parked near the beach leaving to two main love interests (Adrien Shelley, who was recently murdered in NYC, and the guy from Robocop 2, don't ask me how I remember.

he caught her entangled with some jerk in the city just before and ask iher in response:

What about that guy...

He means nothing to me...

How do I know that?

You have to trust me

(At this point he lifts her into the air in front of him like a misalligned hug and there is a descent length pause) He continues

"I don't trust anyone"

and she slowly lowers to his level where they kiss..

Call me sappy. but that scene gets me everytime.

Tres passionata.

I have not blogged on here as much lately for I started bloggin in the main internet sphere where people do not have to sign up to read what I have written. It get tless hate mail that way. Anyways. If you really want to read my blog Crush of the Week, let me know. I will happily surrender the address. Don't be shocked if you made it into an entry. i have probably had a crush on you at some point. And that is a great honor.

Jeffrey

2. hours sleep....

Things are funnier at work today because I am completely delerious. This is the right amount of lack of sleep to be absolutely useless and nonsequential. I love it. Plus everyone just got little office toys so I can play with remote control cars and mini basketball and pool as well as fly a tiny chopper in circles. Christmas really does come twice this year.

Thank you

Tonihgt I have spent no less than 2 hours answering constant emails, watching movies you sent and keeping up amazing conversations. And I have almost made it until I might actually get tired. Anyways now I am making Cinnamon Swirl Frinch toast with Mexican Vanilla. It smells so good. Damn.

Good night!
