Yep, I’m still around!
Current mood: cheerful
Category: Life
I just wanted to let everyone that, YES, I'm still alive and well... LOL... I've been very busy this summer and haven't had much of a chance to get online to do more than check email and pay bills (yuck!). But fall/winter is coming, and I'm sure I'll be writing and posting once again.
Thanks to all of you who've send emails saying "Where are you!?!", I promise, I'll be back writing all sorts of things soon. I wanted to send out some love to my readers, and I hope you're having as great a summer as I am!

Race Day
Current mood: tired
Category: Writing and Poetry
The roar in my ears has a circular pattern
Cows fly and dogs run on wings and feet made of buns
Hands plunge into the icy cold to quench the thirst of those young and old
Lightening flashes in the distance stabbing a sky the color of dirty dishes
And the roar in my ears has a circular pattern

So (a poem) **Warning ~ Under construction**
Current mood: loved
Category: Writing and Poetry
So and so and so again and so I say no more Sew and sew and sew again my tattered heart upon the floor
Go and go and go again and so I go no more Sew and sew and sew in vain those wounds received in war
Run and run and run again and so I run no more No longer must I sew again You've healed my heart for sure.

Everything merges with the night (a poem)
Current mood: quiet
Category: Writing and Poetry
Everything merges with the night Silver light takes over the day Colors fade into the grey
Crickets sing in softening light Flowers retreat and wind up tight Birds head home in feathered flight
Gentle breezes tease the trees Mother earth beds down to take her ease
Everything merges with the night

Prompt Challenge (a poem)
Current mood: sleepy
Category: Writing and Poetry
Here’s today’s challenge from NavWorks Press: Go to a book shelf, magazine rack, CD drawer, or other place you find written/recorded material. Scan the titles and/or contents of the articles, chapters, etc. Look for interesting phrases or key words that "prompt" a poem in you-- and write it. Please cite your source before or after your poem. For instance, you could say, "this came from H.P. Lovecraft’s book: The Seas of Infinity." And then post the poem you wrote. Remember you are not limited to books, you can find software titles, CD titles, DVD titles, or any media content. In other words, find phrases, titles, or statements in another form of communication, art, or medium and use it as a title or line in your poem. Bonus Challenge: Do the same as in the challenge above, only find a way to reference the author or work in your poem as an allusion or by simply naming them. Here’s my response:
with an aching head and blurry eyes I peruse this Motley Crue and ponder their prescription
Enslaved to a Bitter Pill living on the Wild Side of Home Sweet Home, Afraid, Without You
that the Same Ol’ Situation will turn you into Dr. Feelgood lured by the Glitter of Girls, Girls, Girls
Primal Screams rip from my throat as I Shout At The Devil shooting Looks That Kill
you leave me to Kickstart My Heart, it’s worn out, because you’re Too Fast For Love
Smokin’ In The Boy’s Room there’s nothing left to say except, Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)
I picked up the first CD in the pile on my desk... it happened to be Motley Crue’s Greatest Hits album (1998)...And yes, it’s mine... lol... The songs listed on the album are:
1. Bitter Pill 2. Enslaved 3. Girls, Girls, Girls 4. Kickstart My Heart 5. Wild Side 6. Glitter 7. Dr. Feelgood 8. Same Ol’ Situation 9. Home Sweet Home 10. Afraid 11. Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away) 12. Without You 13. Smokin’ in the Boys Room 14. Primal Scream 15. Too Fast For Love 16. Looks That Kill 17. Shout At the Devil

Synergistic Cinquains ~ Challenge Response (poems)
Current mood: silly
Category: Writing and Poetry
So NavWorks posted a Synergistic Cinquains Challenge... Click here ---> NavWorks Press Poetry Forum to check out what they are, and other posts... they’re short and sweet! Here’s what I wrote...
Rip Van Winkle wishes for a long winter’s nap. Late night, waiting for the caffeine attack!
Then I wrote this one about my friend Angel, and her banter with DE (the host of the forum)....
Angel of Light banter twists words of the master provides us with a repartee Touché!
There is a variation of Cinquain called a Tetractys, which inspired this one (which uses the said style)...
I wonder why we are writing poems styled after large flying dinosaurs!?
Poetry is fun!!! So go to the forum and enjoy...
