Sweetie, get over it...
Category: News and Politics

All I can say is "tee hee hee!"  This makes two instances where the Obama campaign has cried "foul" when someone attacks him using the same tactics he uses.  I have to admit that after hearing Governor Palin's speech last night, I was reassured why it is good to be an Amurican.  Democrats all last week talked as if the US was on the verge of being taken over by aliens and we'd all become their slaves if we don't jump on the bandwagon.  Nothing they said last week made me feel happy about being in "these, here United States."  This is a problem that continues, and will continue to do so, if Democrats continue to be leery of embracing what is good about being an Amurican.

A co-worker of mine seemed a bit unhappy with the constant "Messiah" bashing that started Tuesday night, and neglected to recall all of the Republican bashing that seemed to define their entire convention, not to mention their campaign.  Additionally, we are still waiting for Senator Hopenchange to have his "Sistah Souljah" moment with the members of his party and his acolytes in the media who have been infected with Palin Derangement Syndrome.  My co-worker talked as if hyperbole and exaggeration were absent from their convention and that we all should forget that it is the Democrats who control Congress this term and are the chief reason why we in the common world are experiencing financial hardships nationwide (As if we should expect liberals to take blame for their actions...they just want us to remember that they tried, not that they failed).  As for my co-worker, after hearing the Giuliani/Palin speech last night, she's considering voting for McCain, the first time she'd be voting Republican.

Senator Hopenchange is mad, mad I tell you, because the speakers last night had the unmitigated gall to ignore his status as a constitutional law lecturer, a state and US Senator, nor his tenure as a civil rights lawyer.  They used the exact reasoning that Obama used to claim he has the experience to lead...his three years as a community organizer, while he never gave Sarah Palin credit for being governor of the largest state in the union (He called her the mayor of some imaginitive town in Alaska...).  Seems to me, Obambi is a little upset that his curtain is being pulled back to show what an empty suit he is.

Off topic, a little bit...isn't it interesting how no one dared disrupt Hopey's I Have a Dream, too speech last week?  I hear that some anti-war loons have disrupted Johnny Mac's acceptance speech.  Talk about class acts, eh?

The Obama campaign is hoping that Sarah Palin will goof up somewhere so they won't have to deal with her (I guess the truth hurts...).  And that was before the McGovern/Eagleton scenario came up.  If that's the case, then why is Mr. McChangerson planning to roll out his female surrogates shortly after the RNC ends?  (I think he's worried that Palin will identify a whole hell of a lot better than Hillary Clinton, Governors Kathleen Sebelius (D-KS), and Janet Napolitano (D-AZ))  Ignoring his own ties to Washington lobbyists, Mr. McChangerson will now attempt to paint Palin as a Washington insider... (kinda confusing, don't you think?)

The boy's nervous folks...call him a waaaahmbulance, please before it's too late!

Have a great day!

SHOCKUH: Dr. Asten agrees with Obama!
Category: Life

Before you call the police and wonder what has happened to your favorite non-real doctor doctor, I haven't bumped my head and become a Snobama supporter.  However, the point that he made in his I Have a Dream, too speech last week concerning ending (unlawful) discrimination in all areas is one that I must agree with.  I have been a victim of discrimination more times than I can count solely based on who I sleep with at night (Even if I agree with them politically, ain't that amazin'?).  The type of lifestyle one leads should not be a reason to discriminate against them.

Most of the other gays that I run into are just as regular as straights, the only thing that separates the two is their orientation.  It should not matter whether one has a religious objection to it, especially in cases where a person's moral objection causes more disruption than it intends to stop.  It would be different if a person's sexual orientation is causing a disruption in the work place, provided no one is out there seeking to dig some dirt up on someone (which is what happened in my case).  h/tGene Policinski

Both times I was outed, the person's motives were divisive...they intended to do harm.  The first instance was to direct the conversation from the fact that the person had HIV/AIDS to talking about why I had so many male contacts in my cell phone.  The second time arose when one of my coworkers became jealous of the fact that I pick up concepts quickly.  The person then found a picture of my boyfriend and I on MySpace and soon that news spread like wildfire, to the point that lies were being spread and I was forced to resign my position.  That is the main reason why I support Congressman Barney Frank's (D-MA) ENDA bill.

By the same token, I don't think that ones moral opposition to homosexuality should overshadow other accomplishments.  Too many times GAGs and other left-wing groups (and sometimes on the Right) focus on one issue that should diminish all the accomplishments someone has done.  The Human Rights Campaign's opposition to Sarah Palin's candidacy based on her cloudy record on gay rights is not really a good reason to oppose her, just as my opposition to Barry-O's candidacy based on his association with terrorists and convicted slumlords, should not diminish his work as both a community organizer and a "present" state senator.

Have an awesome Labor Day!

Sean Combs weighs in on Palinmania...
Category: News and Politics

Now, I am all about expressing one's opinions, even if I disagree with them or they're just flat out dumb as hell.  Sean P. Combs Sarack Obama, a Senator Hopenchange supporter, shows not only his lack of understanding the Amurican governmental system by demeaning Johnny Mac's running mate, but also appearing to be an expert on Alaskan demographics.  Between listening to him proclaim every 5 seconds about McCain's evasive onsetting dementia (read "bugging the f--k out"), it makes me wonder if he launched into hyperventilation mode and proclaimed that the Democratic party was "bugging the f--k out" when Snobama clinched the Democratic nomination for president (I believe something colored his decision not to do it...).

I'm sure it was news to the past 45 vice presidents that their job was to become the leader of the free world (I guess, in a sense John Nance Garner was right, being the new "leader of the free world" IS just a a "bucket of warm piss").  Funny, considering several vice presidents were kept out of the loop several times during a sitting president's administration.  Something tells me that Sarack is using the hated Richard B. Cheney as his example.  Or maybe he was too busy drinking the courvoisier instead of passing it.  (We'll just let the whole racist statements that were intertwined within slide right on by)

I suppose he's still bent outta shape at the fact that he must fly coach because gas prices are so high...

Happy Labor Day!

Johnny Mac’s still at the top of the ticket...
Category: News and Politics

The assault on Palin continues, from both sides.  While I do understand the point that some on the right are saying, that John McCain will be at the top of the ticket, and we should be concerned about his squishiness more than being distracted by Palinmania (but not in the Senator Hopenchange sense).  McCain is still a squish on illegal immigration, courting to the disasterous views of La Raza and Juan Hernandez and Geraldo Rivera.  He's still a squish ...on, and a squish on the First Amendment (anyone remember McCain-Feingold?) Additionally, one question that he hasn't answered convincingly, for me, is what type of judges he would appoint to the courts.  It's easy to say to the base that he would appoint judges in the model of Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justice Samuel Alito, but for me, actions speak louder than words (another reason that I won't be casting my ballot for Senator Hopenchange).  h/tMatthew Continetti

I mean, it's still hilarious that some on the Left are still haranguing Johnny for choosing an "untested small town mayor" as his running mate, some are even challenging his mental state (as if that's something new...).  I mean, out of the gate, pundits on the Left and Right were claiming that Johnny only met with Palin once, but recent evidence indicates that McCain and Palin had several meetings over the course of months, and TIME has already said that the surprise and shock across the political spectrum shouldn't have happened.

Most of the doubt on the Right about Palin comes from the assumption that she will not be able to effectively take on Joe Biden in October, and that she'll be ineffective in a McCain administration.  Regardless of how much money Johnny raised in the moments after he named Palin his running mate, there is still some uneasiness about his conservative bonafides.  It may be, in this case, that those who will vote for McCain would be actually voting for Palin, since she's regarded the more conservative of the two.  It appears to be working, as the McCain/Palin ticket is up two points over Obama/Biden in a Zogby poll, but Ace and STACLU warn to take that with a grain of salt.

I am reminded over and over again that voters rarely decide on a presidential candidate based on his/her running mate.  So, why is the Left so focused on derailing Palin, and why is the Right uneasy about her supposed lack of experience?  We should refocus on why Senator Hopenchange would be an unmitigated disaster for this country and why John McCain, while not the best candidate, is the better alternative...

Have a great weekend...I'm eating oxtail

I hope you’re Palin attention...(UPDATED)
Category: News and Politics

Of course it was not going to be long before the flat-footed Democrats and the Left would start attacking Sarah Palin for allegedly faking a pregnancy or firing an Alaska State Trooper for political reasons (both of which she didn't).  The giddiness that I feel about Democrats scrambling to regroup hasn't made me lose my common sense.  I know that it is a long time to Election Day 2008, and Hopey's penchant for resorting to dirty tactics won't let him lose without a fight.

I was thinking about the last time a woman was nominated for the VPOTUS slot and was trying to draw some parallels.  Of course, there aren't too many, if any.  Walter Mondale was more about establishing precedent than anything else.  Additionally, he did nothing to separate himself from the disasterous policies of Jimmy Carter, ran a staunchly liberal campaign and didn't really appeal to blue collar workers and voters in the deep south.  Furthermore, Mondale was running against a popular president.

McCain, on the other hand, needed to unify the conservative base and picked someone who would help him do so.  McCain, as well as his running mate, has been vocal when they believe their party is headed in the wrong direction (notably absent are times when Baracky and Biden have done the same for their party).  McCain is effectively separating himself from President Bush, even though most of the things that Democrats are saying about Bush are lies and distortions.  He does, however, need to concentrate more on how his presidency would be different from the times when Bushie has been wrong.  It has been argued that Johnny Mac may have beat the Dems at their own game by nominating a woman.  As Allahpundit notes, a man probably wouldn't have stood a chance, considering Hillary Clinton was a force to be reckoned with during this past long and divisive Democratic primary.

Another note is since the Left is having difficulty finding negatives about Palin, she and McCain have to be especially careful about not beating Joe Biden in the gaffe game, because it will be more damaging to them, probably because we all know that Biden has a big mouth.  Get ready for a version of the argument that some black leftists use against their conservative counterparts, expect radical feminists to paint Palin as being shameful to be a woman, or a closeted lesbian...

Let the countdown begin...and have a great weekend!

UPDATE:  Well, here's something that may pose a problem for Palin...then again, not so much.  Joe Solmonese, chair of the Human Rights Campaign, scolds us for supporting Sarah, when she supported the 1998 constitutional amendment banning "gay" marriage (Methinks Mr. Solmonese doth protest too much) and supports stripping domestic partnership benefits from state workers (Maybe because some of the state's gay workers are changing mates like they change underwear and it's costing the state too much damned money and time to keep up with the seasonal mate changes of some gay workers...).  Ignored in all this is that she's been hailed by the Log Cabin Republicans (a GLBT group largely ignored by groups like HRC, as well as most gays, in general) as one who will bring members of the GLBT community to McCain's side.

That was quite a show...
Category: News and Politics

Well, you should know the rest by now...

I thought it would be a bad move to do it, and I read somewhere that for Johnny Mac to name his running mate on a Friday, news of it would be drowned out by fainting praise of Barry-O's I Have a Dream, too speech last night.  Unfortunately, it appears that the pundits were wrong and Johnny Mac has shown his maverick side again.  I honestly thought that McCain was going to pick Governor Tim Pawlenty (R-MN) as his running mate because of his youthfulness.  He had too many soundbites deriding Mitt Romney and would be regarded as a hypocrite for slamming Hopey McChangerson for picking a person who derided him.  h/tEd Morrissey and AoSHQ and Ed Morrissey again

This was a smooth move by McCain, and though there are some stories already coming out about her "support" for recently indicted Senator Ted Stevens' (R-AK) infamous "Bridge to Nowhere," and her support for windfall profits taxes on "Biggg Oil," among other things.  This has Democrats worried about potentially further alienating Hillary supporters, because they had obviously created dossiers on the three men on McCain's shortlist for veep.  While Hopey did receive a nice bump in the polls, I'm not sure how long the gap is going to last.

This does some things for McCain, it opens the possiblity for Palin to easily run for the presidency in 2012, and become the first female president (Provided Johnny Mac doesn't jack it up...).  It steals Obama's experience meme that has apparently been his strength for the past eighteen months, and it also brings out the misogynists lurking in the Democratic Party (As I type this, Keith Olbermann is doing a story about Sarah Palin being a beauty contest winner, much like McCain's wife, Cindy, and it giving us a clue into what Johnny Mac sees in women...).  It is quite hilarious that Democrats are now questioning someone's experience, while assuming that questions about their nominee for president was grounds for throwing the race card.

While Dems are now eerily concerned about someone's experience in their job as grounds for assuming the second highest office in the land, we must remember that all of Governor Palin's experience is in the executive arena, while BHO and Joe "Dunkin Donuts" Biden's is only legislative.  Palin has a record of reformation and maverickism, that is the hallmark of Johnny Mac's legislative career.  Unfortunately for Barry-O, his one opportunity to go against his party leaders (the bill he cited in the Saddleback Forum), turned out to be just one more opportunity where he towed the party line.

I think that the party that claimed they were so unified last week, just got all disunified again...damm that John McCain !  For an added bonus, CNN's John Roberts believes that Governor Palin won't be able to take care of her youngest baby, who has Down's Syndrome if elected to the VPOTUS slot...

Have a great day, and remember, Johnny Mac may have made the slam dunk needed to win this election...

There’s a lot of flatulence in Denver...
Category: News and Politics

Ok, so it IS the Democratic National Convention.  Because it is so, I expect the spin cycle to be in overdrive as Democrats play ignorant and act as if the 110th Congress is just a figment of our imaginations (Maybe they think we are as delusional as they are...)  Rational thinking people are aware the cost of living has risen under Speaker Mimi and Pinky's leadership, but oddly blame Republicans, who have a desire to do something about both the pain at the pump and at the cash register.  h/t: Doug Patton

All we have heard this week is how Republicans have ran the government for the past eight years and things aren't as prosperous as they were during the peaceful, yet scandal-driven years of the Clinton Administration.  Sure, we had peaceful times during the Clinton years, but he was also restrained by the GOP-led Congress.  I am willing to bet that had Democrats ran Congress through both of Billy Jeff's terms, things would be much worse than they are now.  We should also note that some of the poorest areas in this nation are run in mostly liberal-leaning areas, and in the other liberal-leaning areas, a regular guy like me couldn't even afford to live there.

We have also heard how Johnny Mac is illustrative of what is wrong with the past eight years, because he has seven houses and is worth a couple million dollars.  Funny how the American dream that Democrats have claimed all week to have been thrown to the four winds, is now evil and corrupt.  It is also odd that it was unfair to focus on John Edwards' $400 haircuts, Al Gore's hypocrisy surrounding his carbon footprint and his high electric bill, Billy Jeff's offices in Harlem causing the housing rates to skyrocket, John F'n Kerry's many tax shelters, or Ted Kennedy's leasing of government offices to the government.

Each and every speaker at the DNC has told us ad nauseaum that Barry-O is on the right side of history and will guide us to the New Frontier...oh, wait, that was John Kennedy.  Even if Captain Bulls--t is elected president, his empty-suitiness may make him appear about as effective as Governor Deval Patrick (D-MA), a politician who was elected specifically because of his skin color (Oh my bob, could you imagine San Fran Nan and Pinky being the de facto president?  I may have to vote for Johnny Mac instead of Bob Barr after all...).

Have a great day!

The Politics of Change just stay the same...
Category: News and Politics

Call it a lucky guess, but I kinda always knew that Hopey McChangerson was going to pick Senator Joe Biden (D-DE) as his running mate.  I have written before that I believe that Biden is one of the few sensible Democrats left in the party.  However, just when you think that the case, he says something that makes  it sound as if his inner Michael Moore trying is trying to come out.

But what does this say about Hopey's constant reminders that he is all about changing the way Washington works?  He's picked the man who's been in Washington about six years more than McCain, and who's had at least two runs for the presidency in recent years.  Additionally, this choice will do nothing but throw nuggets to the RNC and the McCain campaign, who will use Biden's own words and actions to bring Obama down from his Messiah-like pedestal.  It also underscores something that not only I have been saying, but others as well, that Barry-O lacks the experience both leadership and foreign and domestic policy necessary to be an effective president (I should also note that I did say the same about President George W. Bush, that he lacked the foreign policy expertise to make informed decisions in that area, and that is why I supported Gore, since he had at least eight years in the White House, as well as time as a Senator and a Representative). h/tEd Morrissey

We have known for sometime that Obamessiah is nothing more than an empty suit and his choice for a running mate does nothing to dispel the belief that Obama is just a black version of Bill Clinton in 1992, a slick politician willing to use his flowery language to make people fawn over him.  Shame that he ignored Michael Moore's advice (something sensible, oddly) and pull a Cheney, or go with Hillary.

Shortly after Baracky got his ass handed to him by Johnny Mac, he went on the defensive attacking McCain for being clueless, yet again, on the economy...trouble is, he used dated quotes and others out of context.  This isn't the first time Hopey has distorted something that McCain has said, and there are a litany of examples proving such.  So when Obamessiah whines about being treated unfairly, it rings hollow...and it should.

Have a great weekend, and remember, Barry-O is just another politician, and I told you so...

Lights Out!
Category: News and Politics

Remember how Democrats claimed that the arrest of Cindy Sheehan during one of President Bush's State of the Union speeches was a "truth to power" moment?  While the rest of us rightly dismissed Sheehan as a kook, she did provide the GOP with an idea that they should have capitalized on when Speaker Mimi shut down the House for their August recess.  Instead of walking out gracefully, House GOP members should have staged a protest (I'm sure Democrats would have done it, had the shoe been on the other foot...) when Capitol Police were ordered to shut the place down at 4:30 Friday afternoon. h/t:AoSHQ

It has been known that for sometime that Dems have been on the wrong side of the gas prices issue.  Even Barry-O, while deriding both Hillary and Johnny-Mac's call for a gas tax holiday, and pretty much any method to ease the "pain at the pump," as being gimmicky, has finally acknowledged that drilling on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) will allow gas prices to fall, and did a slippery flip-flop in Florida, as a way to win the hearts and minds of people who pay more of a substantial amount for a gallon of gas than I do.  I noticed a dramatic decrease when President Bush lifted the moratorium that his father put in place.  During the week he decided to lift the ban, gas prices dropped from $4.04/gallon to $3.81/gallon for regular grade.

The unfortunate thing is that people aren't holding Captain Bulls--t's nose to the grindstone, and I'm afraid that it is a sign of things to come, if he's elected POTUS 44...

Have a great weekend!

Hypocrisy? Nas in the least...
Category: News and Politics

I don't listen to "rap," if that's what they want to call it.  I do, however, tend to keep up with "rap artists'" incessant episodes of disingenuousness.  In the end, it doesn't matter how many times this is pointed out, their apologists will rush to defend them, in the name of free speech.  We know about P!nk's ignorant rant about President Bush in her song, Dear Mr. President, and the Dixie Chicks' whining about feeling marginalized after their bouts of ignorance about Amurican politics, and Kun-yae West's fact-challenged comment about President Bush not caring about black people, but what about "rap artists" who are bent out of shape at misinterpretations of racism, while at the same time, sputter lyrics about committing violence against others, and wearing t-shirts with the "n-word" plastered on the front? h/tMichelle Malkin

It appears as though NaS' involvement with ColorofChange and MoveOn is yet another episode of a "rap artist" being spoonfed the facts instead of learning about the issues on his own.  After all, P!nk fell victim to PETA's ignorance about mulesing, and later had to relent on her opposition.  But NaS apparently forgot to recall that Michelle did refer to Barry-O as her "baby daddy," something that many black women themselves do.  He also failed to note that Bill Orally was defending Michelle Obama, but used a bad choice of words.

The bottom line is that it appears that NaS is another celebrity that needs to leave certain things to people in the know...

Have a great day!
