I NEED YOU(R) BACK!
Category: Art and Photography

The Backbone of Peace
(an artistic photographic series of nude women's backs)

Women 18 & up of all sizes are needed to complete an artistic photographic series of nude women's backs to be displayed at the U-Turn Dance Center.

The idea for this project came from a questioning of what I believed to be the largest difference between men and women. The main difference to me is in intention and women's intention being that of peace in relationships (be it romantic, family, friend, etc.) Not that women are all daisy carrying hippies, but that the intention to avoid confrontation in our relationships and those we see around us is there. In my opinion this is not a quality that can be labled as good or bad, but I think in different ways it can sometimes hinder or stimulate a relationship. I'm interested in the state of existance of our beings and simply enjoying an awareness of what makes us - us. This series will be displayed in the lobby of the U-Turn Dance Center during the running of the production of VOW (Voices of Women) which will last from March 3rd to March 31st.

The photographer is female, each photoshoot is individual, will last approx. 15min. and you are welcome to bring someone along. Tattoos are not a problem. There is no pay.
As I do not have funding for this project other than what I put in personally, I can not provide prints in exchange for participation. However if you would like to purchase a print, the cost will be minimal. My aim is to photograph the backs of 50 women.

The following is the shoot information:

Location:
U-Turn Dance Center 3580 Aloma Avenue, Suite 7
Winter Park, FL 32792

Dates/Times:
Wednesday Feb. 28th 7pm-8pm
Thursday March 1st 5pm-7pm

Please call Teresa at 407.272.9792 to reserve your photoshoot time slot. ..> ..>

make it happen...

Press Release

CLOUD MATTER: it's what dreams are made of...

CELEBRATION, FL: This summer the ultimate, completely customized program for a child's particular dream will begin. Cloud Matter is an unconventional way of learning to use every day life as a tool to realize and live our happiness in the form of a dream.

"I believe that with dreams, the what isn't nearly as important as the how. If we can dare a child to dream, no matter what the dream is, only having the dream will do little if a child isn't also taught how to make it happen starting today," says Teresa Mallon, founder of Cloud Matter. "Usually, as a child grows up, their dream changes, but the skill set needed to put a dream into motion does not."

The philosophy behind Cloud Matter is simple: by concentrating on developing a child's natural talents and passions we can enrich the general learning experience and therefore increase their confidence, love of learning, and appreciation of life.

Cloud Matter is hands-on learning meaning field trips, experiments, interviews, observation, and more.

Cloud Matter is open to children ages 7 to 12 years old. Sessions are to run June 1st thru August 1st, dates and times are customized to each child. Sign up deadline is May 20th.

For more information on Cloud Matter or to register contact Teresa Mallon at: (321)286-6677.

a stream for the unconscious...

a life of chosen harm
slicing its way through today
ashes carelessly strewn about
offspring evolving with delusive fragments of a diluted dream,
direction for a reclusive thought choosing to run.
simplicity amidst a global chaos.
strings of hallow haunches rest periodically.
motions of absurd rituals
made holy by perceived emotion
traveling amongst choppy parallels
circling around a prey who felt imminently forgotten.
running into waves of remembrance
crashing upon wounded shores
reflection, perfection, perception
pausing for hesitation
inspired by transition
dissolving into visions preconceived long before
quietly watching the ambiguous before me.
wondering, creating the future lines of my face, my thoughts galore.
rhythmic palpitations of my pen's remorse.
repetitions of moments in time.
nostalgic sediments tying souls into a frayed knot.
intentions askew.
familiar vulgarities fly
buried in scarves of many colors of what makes me, me and you, you.
performance of a restricted morsel of being,
true to somebody's everyday normalcy.
little often comes of my stationarious rants
right where i belong no, write! write where i belong. here. now.
temptation of a snare
drum? beat me throughout the day, night.
keeping in tune with the hum of electrical pulses of my repetitious self torture,
agitating the measures of reoccurring clicks of my tongue.
its all about you.
a finger pointed in the right direction,
racing through trivial points in space,
pointing me toward the impeding and eminent tomorrow.
garden of fingertips burned ever so gently by my time, bided by loneliness.
so entertain my gaze for awhile
while i kneed my ball of indifference.
im saving up my courage for another day
thats quite so rainy as today
walk the rosen line, sprinkled with sparkles and other shiny distractions
convenience my suffering and self hate by staying a while,
take care of my disbelief of hope which was bred into me
wait by the pier of abandoned ships
where easy green chairs invite us to rest a while, rest forever in fact.
walk towards the light, oblivion awaits.
choose. chose. the chosen one.
bob your chin down the stairs, hallway calling,
beckoning me to the foot of the bed where ill refuse to kneel once more.
fake flickers of an imaginary flame, colder than any fire ive ever felt.
fare too costly for most calls me into action
out of the fog of my own insecurities.

state of me...

To whom it may concern:

soft delicate fragile
do not define me
though this is once what i chose to believe

robotic insecurities tie me to praise
falsification of hope felt
internal doubts swell
check one check two
asphyxiation merely an expression of pain
leather bindings merely visual interpretation

attach self to spheres of uncertainty
attach barren skin to tabooed conflict
check one check two check
three solid legs suspending saving grace
delayed response slowly creeps to surface

falling up, i choke more than ever
accustomed lungs full of water
begin gasps of spurts of air
resignation seeps into core
meanwhile strength is mustered for single last ditch effort
check one check two

pretty feet tiptoe nearby
imaginary water
imaginary weights
imaginary reality
imaginary slips, slipping away with concentrated release

surrounded by clutter, mind’s overflow
piece by piece evaluation
reclassification reveals hidden passions newly aglow
torments understood, transform towards points of reference & relevance
idle hands breathe restored energy
check one check two

singular days bring singular knowledge
not without effort
not without appreciation
current falls follow paths of light
struck by lightning
impact of lonely occurrence
harmonizing flow
seeking to cultivate present potential union.

to whom it may concern.
