I met Common last night....Pharrell pointed me out in the crowd
Category: Music
damn that was an insane show last night in Seattle....N.E.R.D. opened up the show...OMG the crowd was just completely out of control...I got tossed around that venue like a damn volleyball from all the moshing and people rushing the stage...I cant really complain cause I waas like 14 or 15 rows back but got pushed up to row 3 lol so i cant complain much about that....A lot of the songs I couldnt really hear Pharrell because the sound of his mic was so low and the crowd was jus crazzyyyyy...Shay I couldnt hear him at all lol....The highlight of N.E.R.D.'s performance was "Bobby James" which is my favorite joint by N.E.R.D.......besides the crazy crowd the only complaint was that Chad was missing from the show....
COmmon was jus completely flawless...he did a lot of new songs off the upcoming album but stillll the shit was so hard.....His performance was very theatrical compared to Kanye's gitd performance....My favorite ones he did were "Testify," "The People",. "Drivin Me Wild," "Come Close," and he did this crazy ass freestyle near the end damnnnn he killed that shit....
after the show I waited outside with some other fans....I got to meet him and take a pic and get his autograph...He was a really cool dude and real down to earth...I asked him about the release of the new album and he said it will be coming out in NOvember...I gave him my ticket stub to autograph, cause I forgot to bring one of his albums to get signed....he told me that he doesnt like to sign autographs...but he said he would do it specially for me..lol I was like thats wuzzup...on the stub he wrote "Love, Common" (no homo) Lol...Ill post pix a little later......
I am in COMPLETE SHOCK right now...I just cant believe he is gone....I worshiped this guy as an entertainer....He is definitely one of my favorites along with Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy. We have definitely lost a talented gifted genius...My prayers and condolences are with his family and friends!
yo tonight for me was like a dream come true...not only did I see one of my favorite artists of all time on the stage tearing it down...but got to meet him right after the show
me and my homie Mike from Minneapolis went to see NAS perform at Showbox Sodo here in Seattle tonight...the show was off the chain mane! lol NAS has always been an artist that I looked up to and admired and hes always been in my top 5 of not only my favorite MC's but musical artists in General..
He pretty much ripped through his entire musical catalog, Here is a Setlist:
Hip Hop Is Dead Hustlers NY State of Mind It Aint Hard To Tell Lifes A bitch The World Is yours One Love Represent The Message If I Ruled The World Street Dreams Affirmative Action Oochie Wally Got Urself a Gun Rewind Stillmatic You're Da Man Nas Is Like Hate Me Now Made You Look Get Down Hot Boyz (Remix) (just His verse) Phone Tap Black Republican Cant Forget About You One Mic
I didnt want the show to end man it was getting better and better with each song... he was about to perform his new single "Be A Nigger Too" he had got about 10 seconds into the song until the crowd was chanting over and over for him to perform "Ether"....Nas laughed and said "yall know that was the greatest battle record ever."
Unfortunately the show came to an end...but it was cool the best part of the night came around about an hour later...me and Mike went to the back of the venue Where the artists usually go out to meeting their vehicles....NAS had finally came out about an hour later he came straight up to us and gave us handshakes and saying wussup....I told him that I really like the show and he tore it up and he said "thanks appreciate it fam"..and I asked him when did the new album drop and he said "July 1st" and he gave me handshake....I told mike to take my blackberry phone and take a pic of Me and Nas...this dumbass fool zoomed so far into the pic that it didnt even come out....fortunately mike I took a pic of him and Nas and it came out crystal clear (lets just say that me and Mike wont be talking for a while...and im dead serious)....anyway it was cool Ill guess Ill get over it...Nas didnt have enough time to take another picture with me but he was nice enough to sign me an autograph...he ended up signing my ticket stub from the show...ill post pix later!
Kanye West SHow in Seattle last night "SICK SICK SICK" performance (and I met Pharrell) yeaaaaa

wow that was definitely the best damn concert i have been to in a long time...i swear that is the best thing I have seen since MJ's performance at Motown 25 back in 1983....yes lol it was really that great
Im not going to spoil it for you guys and give away the setlist...if you got questions about that I dont mind telling you on one on one by email jus check out my profile here and get my email addy...
but anyway everyone had a GREAT performance...there were a few minor glitches but thats pretty normal for an opening night....overall still out of 5 stars i give it a TEN lol yesss it was really that great....that was my first time seeing all of the performers besides Kanye I had seen him perform in Europe last year...but this the time seeing him...it was like seeing Michael Jackson on the Victory Tour...he was jus FLAWLESS...he literally destroyed the stage...and brought the house down with his performance....those of you who dont have tickets I suggest you get them I mean hell if you need a little xxtra money then hit me up i recommend EVERYONE catches this tour....its rREALLY that good...my ONLY COMPLAINT was that those of you who plan on taking any kind of pictures you will be extremely disappointed...the security for the venue and for the artists were very strict about photography...
oh for the VIP holders...I had a 5 star VIP ticket...I would say overall it wasnt that bad....you get all the free food and alcohol u want..u get like a 5 minute backstage tour...which totally sucked but we got to see NERD rehearse at sound check so that was cool....the exclusive gift bags were not ready in time for the show so you will receive those in the mail later on..they also hold a raffle for some door prizes before the show...but the biggest thing about the VIP you get AWESOME seats...I was in ROW 1 in seat 23 right in the MIDDLE of the stage I believe I had the best seat in the house
Anyway about the Pharrell thing....well me and Pharrell are both from the greatest state... Virginia...so of course I went to the show with my VA hat on....when NERD came on stage I took my hat off and kept pointing at the VA letters and symbol on my hat but Pharrell couldnt really see me that well...finally I think in the 3rd song he finally seen my hat and he pointed at me and saluted me then laughed....then again in the next song he saw me again pointing at My VA hat and he pointed at me and through up The VA sign...after that he didnt pay much attention to me cause he was really into his performance...he and the band finished up the number and they bowed and left the stage...so i was happy that he had least made contact with me from the stage.....so about 5 mins later the house lights come on cause they were setting up for Riannha...I was actually texting my brother tellin him that Pharrell acknowledged me in the crowd and here he comes out of nowhere directly in front of me...he came up and asked me I had seen a little girl..and I was like "huh" he had seen a young girl in the audience and he got upset because he did a lot of swearing on stage...so he wanted to come out and apologize...so he went down further down the aisle to look for he and he didnt find her....about a minute later he comes back down towards me...he passes everyone in the front row who wanted to take pix and shake his hand...he came directly to me and shook my hand and said "wussup" lol best 3 seconds of my life hahahhahah
also one last note...Rihanna was performing that NE-Yo duet and at one point she was looking my way cause she seen that I was blowing her kisses...she had pointed at me and gave me a wink...I almost passed out hahaha....Im sorry that this review is sooo long but you can tell I had a great time if you guys got questions about the setlist...jus shoot me an email on here or on my myspace....peaceeeeeee
Part II
anyway about LUpe he was incredible...that was my first time seeing him live....its a funny story though..>I missed him the first couple of minutes when he came out...I was on my way from the restroom and I was making my way to my seat...I gave my ticket to one of the floor monitors so she could verify my seat and the dumb bitch dropped my ticket under the bleachers...i had to roll my sleeve back and stretch all the way under there to gte it...the funny thing is my arm was ****in stuck...i was stuck for abouta good 6 minutesi t was so embarassin...i was even extra pissed when the lights had went down and i missed lupe when he came out lol but anyway lupes set was great everyone in his band wore red....including Nikki and matthew santos
someone else asked me how long was the show lupe came on about 715 the show ended around 1145in response to wizdom no i wasnt born until 1985 the MJ victory tour was in 84 but being a hardcore o ffan of MJ ive seen a lot of the victory tour footage and that was MJ was at his prime and thats how I felt about Kanye last night cause his set was so electrifying
about the glitches there were very few...jus some minor feedback...Kanye had a little problem with his spaceship....he actually yelled at one of the stage managers on the mic lol...his cameramen did a pretty awesome job but one of them almost dropped the camera...maybe he got so caught up into the show he forgot he was actually their to work....
about Kanye's band they were set in the front of the stage...I Mean Kanye had the full orchestra he even had some guys playing Timpani drums...which was a good touch for Stronger, Good Life, and some other tracks he did...I think a lot of the strings were prerecorded I didnt see the string ladies at this show
Harassed by the Cops in Virginia (jus happened today)
Current mood: mad
Me and my brother had to come home to Virginia for a funeral at the end of this week! This is like the first time I had been home since I left Europe. We live in a rural town in the conservating commonwealth of Virginia. So anyway today we were walkin up the street to the bank...and this cop passed by...i had my ipod on so i was turning around lookin back as he drove by but i was lookin for cars comin but he thought we were lookin at him dirty or some shit...and then when we get to the top of the street...he comes chasing us and hes like i need to see your ID...and we like "for what" and hes all like "where u from"? "where u comin from"? and we like wtf did we do...he was all like we looked suspicious...so we showed both of our IDs and he seen we were both military...and then he wanted to know all of our history where we were stationed..what was our address? why we were here in Virginia? he kept repeating dumb ass questions and shit...my brother got pissed and i was gettin pissed....then when he called us in at the station he didnt have anything on us...and he tried to switch it up all fast talkin about he was in the military blah blah blah he was feelin stupid that he came and harassed us for nothing...and he was like " i dont normally harass military folks." and we was like whateva! everybody was lookin at us like we were criminals...stoppin their cars seeing what was goin on....we went into the bank and this lady called us "hoodlums" i was all like wtf...and the craziest thing about the whole situation was there was a big car accident across the street...he was so busy harassing us that there was a real situation going on across the street that he couldve handled.
"Behind The Face of Prince Charles" (A story a friend of mine wrote about me)

Behind the Face of Prince Charles
A man of honor, integrity, and humor all combined in one is my Navy buddy Charles Reed.Charles and I have known each other for quite some time, my entire Navy career to be exact. The guy's got humor, brotherhood and honesty, and very out-going all piled into him.If you need a tour guide to show you the lifestyle of any major city in America, maybe even the world, Prince Charles is the one you want with you.Having a bad day, Charles would be the one to help you through it.Or if you just need a good chuckle, so hang out with Charles for an hour, and you'll never be the same.
Charles and I have literally traveled every where together. We have formed a brotherhood through the months we have known each that can't be broken by anything.I trust this man more than most husbands trust their wives. They places we have seen and encountered can not all be described in a couple of sentences.Traveled to Scotland to go see Kanye West in concert. After about 1 hour of standing outside, they finally let us in, only to find out the anticipation will grow greater. We stood in that concert hall for 4 hours before Kanye West came out.But afterwards, it was worth it. The next morning, I left him at the hotel room since I had a plane that I had to catch that was going some where else that he wasn't.Only to his dismay, I was able to meet Kanye West that morning at the airport.Seconds later I call Charles only to hear him rant about how I didn't wake him up to go to the airport.
Our next adventure lay within the city of Washington D.C.We both have visited here before, but never indulged in the culture of the city. Our plan for the night was to go to Howard's homecoming party. If you don't know HowardUniversity, it's an all black college. And if you don't know me, I am not black, so this was going to turn into a very interesting night. As we approach the club, the atmosphere is estatic.People dressing nice, showing up in beautiful cars with beautiful women, the night was looking good.Upon entry into the club, I quickly found out that there were no white people.Did I care?Of course not, but I just thought I might have not blended in as well as everyone else did.Night is going great, having a good time, but all of a sudden I lose Charles and his friend.I think to myself, "Well it's going to be impossible to find them, but they should be able to spot me."Walked through the entire club lost, like a kid that was lost at the grocery store looking for his mom.Decided to leave and catch a cab to the train station to call Charles. As I come back to pick him up, he has this look like he just saw some person fall on the ice.He couldn't contain his laughter, and neither could I.The fact that I was just in an all black club was too much for either of us to contain.By the end of the night, we ended up spending roughly $100 on a $25 cab ride. But we stuck together and looked out for each other the entire night, even when we were not together.
The last trip we all took together was to Los Angeles, CA.He knew the area, and I didn't, so this was going to be a nice little tour that he was going to take me on.Saw literally everything that I needed to see, and some things that I didn't need to see too.One thing that you need to know about Charles is that he does not like dogs.No way, in a shape or form, he does not like K-9s.Quickly did we find out that at his friend's house that we were staying at, he had a dog that was no more than a year old.Charles requested to keep the dog locked up at all times, but that was changed as the night went on.As Charles was getting ready to fall asleep, his friend and I decide to let the hound lose.I have never seen a man move so quick in my life from a near dead sleep. He moved as quick as if he found out his house was on fire, or as if he just saw a ghost. The comedy of the situation was too much to handle. We explained to Charles that he won't bite and you just need to deal with your fears.Well that didn't work out either. He would try to make the dog sit, but the dog wouldn't listen and would act like there was a spider on his chest.Just screaming and freaking out.Dog wouldn't stop biting him neither. All in all, the night was a success for me, but a failure for Charles.
Next time you are thinking about going on a trip anywhere, get in contact with Charles Reed.He will show how to live like a king in any city you go, guaranteed. The companionship we have is like a man with his dog.Being stuck on a ship for 13 months together, spending every waken second with a man will do that to you.
NEW YORK - Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan apartment, and police said drugs may have been a factor. The Australian-born actor was 28. Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the residence in the tony SoHo neighborhood, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said. A housekeeper who went to let him know the massage therapist had arrived found him dead at 3:26 p.m.
A large crowd of paparazzi and gawkers began gathering Tuesday evening outside the building on an upscale block, where several police officers guarded the door.
Ledger was nominated for an Oscar for "Brokeback Mountain," where he met Michelle Williams in 2005. The two lived together in Brooklyn and had a daughter, Matilda, until they split up last year.
Ledger most recently appeared in "I'm Not There," in which he played one of the many incarnations of Bob Dylan ???? as did Cate Blanchett, whose performance in that film earned an Oscar nomination Tuesday for best supporting actress.
Ledger was to appear as the Joker this year in "The Dark Night," a sequel to 2005's "Batman Begins." He's had starring roles in "A Knight's Tale" and "The Patriot," and played the suicidal son of Billy Bob Thornton in "Monster's Ball."
Ledger grew up in Perth, and began doing amateur theater at age 10. At 16, he moved to Sydney to pursue an acting career, quickly landing TV movie roles and guest spots on Australian television.
After several independent films and a starring role in the short-lived Fox TV series "Roar," Ledger moved to Los Angeles and costarred in "10 Things I Hate About You," a teen comedy reworking of "The Taming of the Shrew."
Offers for other teen flicks came his way, but Ledger turned them down, preferring to remain idle than sign on for projects he didn't like.
"It wasn't a hard decision for me," Ledger told the Associated Press in 2001. "It was hard for everyone else around me to understand. Agents were like, 'You're crazy,' my parents were like, 'Come on, you have to eat.'"
