Rochelle has been collaborating with German techno boys 'Alter Ego'.
The first track due out is going to be known as 'Gary / Boy's Club' (Klang Elektronik) and features Rochelle's vocals over Alter Ego's synth driven instrumental cut 'Gary' from their 'Why Not!' album.
The CD single, due this summer, comes complete with a remix from Tiga, and will also feature on Alter Ego's 'What's Next?!' Remix LP, depending on the copy u have! More news as it comes in.

Our man JFB, the UK DMC champ was the first DJ to drop the new Product.01 bass boom on Radio One. 'Ready2Rage' got aired as part of his guest mix on Rob Da Bank's Blue Room show on Dec 17th. Check out JFB cutting it up in this Radio One clip - it's in the music box !

1. Whats your DJ handle and real name?

Product.01 - Rochelle Vincente

2. Where are you from?

Austr(al)ia !

3. How would you define your style?

Vocal charged electronics. The song based element is important to me. When our debut album comes out this year our cross range will be more evident.

4. What got you into DJing / making music?

An accident ! It's a long story, I had a deep desire to express myself thru music but I never imagined I'd actually end up writing songs and making records, it was one of those pie in the sky things that manifested. And then once it hooked me in the real challenges began.

5. What are your earliest musical memories?

Frank Zappa's keys player Allan Zavod teaching me 'ChopSticks' on our houseboat in Australia, and learning the drums to satisfy my crush on Phillip Campbell (Ozzie drummer) & Jon Moss !

6. What are the best clubs / venues you've ever played?

Metro, Palais & The Palace in Melbourne, Australia. Postgarage in Graz, Austria. Stealth in Nottingham, UK. Astoria & Shepherd's Bush Empire in London, UK. The Dome Pavillion in Brighton, UK - it's where Abba won Eurovision!

7. What was your worst club experience?

I obviously have more than one, but one that comes to mind is in Oz, after soundcheck it started with me coming out of the girls loos to find some girl giving the roadie a blowjob, I sighed and went to drop some stuff off side of stage, then proceeded to the bandroom, where by this stage the band is looking on in horror as the roadie and sound guy are 'spit roasting' this girl (she also snogs the sound guy, him not knowing what I know about where her mouth has been, keeping in mind none of these guys have washed in a week if you're lucky!) and our lighting guy is using a torch on them as a joke...right on, we were out of there...so, nauseas feeling band waiting in the wings, side of stage, then go on..drummer is gasping for air as the smoke machine is facing his fan and fanning the smoke into his face at a rapid rate. angry drummer = tinnitus. after 1st set, sax player goes to the loo and as he walks past pool tables someone yells to him "fagot" to which he goes "pardon?" (not quite sure he heard right) to which suddenly he is finding himself ducking a pool stick that's just swung at his head, and running for his life...he bursts into the bandroom shouting "ready for action?" the doors behind him tear open before we get a chance to go 'boo', and suddenly 15 guys are piling in ready for a punch up...I grab a chair and stand in the middle of the room using it to fend off anyone who comes close, meanwhile watching an all out brawl circling me...there's a guy there who's just got out of prison that very day (famous for killing a couple cops) on his mobile calling more gang members in the area and within minutes more and more guys are piling into the room, until bouncers and police FINALLY arrive to break it up. we were then police escorted to our van and out of the area....icing on the cake was getting home and telling my mate, laughing so hard I walked into the dishwashing machine hook as the door was open, and my leg was attached to the dishwasher. I still have the scar !

8. Which DJs / Producers do you most admire?

Honestly Adamo - otherhalf of Product.01 is a producer I most admire. I know I work with him so I'm not supposed to say that here perhaps, I also dig Mouse on Mars, Jacek Sienkiewicz, Vitalic, Jeff Mills and Fernando Corona aka Murcof is amazing. As for DJs Brighton's Ed Lee is one to watch...

9. Which labels and genres are impressing you at the moment?

I'm not really a genre chick, I just gotta feel it in the 'plexes!
It seems that a lot of artists are running their own labels these days, which is great - if majors don't have the balls and wanna play safe then f**k them, their loss. Music is not a democracy if it's gonna stand for anything and actually speak to anyone. Most people are developing a pretty good built in bulls**t detector, and are not easily fooled. I certainly don't buy it.
Off the top of my head, I dig what Modular People, Turbo, Bpitchcontrol are up to also.

10. What music off-the-mainstream should we be looking out for?

Cursor Miner, Mount Sims, Alloy Mental, T.Raumschmiere, HK119, The Presets..

11. What is your all time favourite record and why?

That's hard to answer.....Prince's Purple Rain because it defines a huge chunk of time in my life in Australia, so many great things were evolving with this LP as my backdrop, and the songs are awesome, so well crafted, nothing seems to top that sort of originality, quality and edge these days does it?
And maybe because when I met him he was sucking a lollipop and wearing that suit !! It all ties in neatly.
