Dearest Lightworkers, so it is that you enter into the month of December and you enter into the Heart of Light. This is the place of Infinite Power, Possibility and Potential, that is found at the Heart of the Unified Flame of Unconditional Love.

So, Beloved Ones, you have experienced the intense energies of the Twin Flames becoming One in your own Hearts, and now you rest in that place of Deep Silence and Peace. It is a Gentle place, a place of Softness and Sweetness and Intimacy and Warmth, a place so Delicate that it can be missed if you are not focused into the Still Center at the Heart of your own Being.

As you have opened your Hearts, and as you have allowed the Twin Flames to unite within you, so you have entered into Fifth-dimensional Consciousness. You have experienced the Diamond Flame within that burns brightly with the Consciousness that All is One within the Radiant Web of Cosmic Being.

And, dearest souls, that "Oneness" will bring you into the Unified Center of your own Radiant Heart, and there, within the Temple of your High Heart, you will find the Deep Peace and the "Pregnant" Silence of All That Is. You will feel this Peace as a Profound and Intimate Gentleness that rests at the core of your Being, your I AM presence. You will find the Gentle Sweetness of your Essence, that place within you where Heaven lives and exists as part of You.

And, from that moment of Peace and Silent Sweetness, you will be ready to begin weaving a New Creation from the Light of your Heart.

What will You Create from Heaven's Sweet and Beautiful Essence within You?

Dearest ones, in this month of December, with its powerful alignments, we urge you to consider how you might create and live an "Authentic" life of Freedom and Joy, for this is what "Heaven" means to Beings of Light. And, while this may seem a paradox, to be One and Yet to be Unique, it is this dance of complementary energies that characterizes the Higher Dimensions. When duality, with its clash of opposites falls away, then there is only Unity with its wonderful blending of diverse but complementary energies, the Yin and Yang of All Existence.

"Authentic" means to recognize Who You Are within the Flow and Dance of Life. That you are a spark of the Divine Essence in Human form, what we call a Human Angel. It means to recognize that you have nothing to "learn" on Planet Earth, all that you need to know is already within you in that place of deep wisdom at the Heart of your Being. You have nothing to "heal", you are already a Perfect Being of Light who seeks only to see that perfection reflected in the outer world of manifest reality. "Authentic" means, dearest Lightworkers, recognizing that You are here to Become your Highest Potential as a Soul, to grow, to explore, to adventure out on the waves of light, and to discover more of Who You Are through the Joy of your Creations! This is the essence of life in the Fifth-Dimensional Consciousness. And, the way to access this level of consciousness is through the Heart. As you enter into your personal role of service to this great co-creation called a Planet, you will feel in your Heart a desire to experience Life and Love in a way that is Unique to You!

Yes, beloved Lightworkers, each of you is as unique as a snowflake crystal, and each of you expresses Unconditional Love in different ways. To be in an "authentic" state means to experience your flow of heart energy in a way that uniquely expresses You and Who You Are. This will not be the same as others, for while you are "One" in the Flame of Unconditional Love, you are unique in your Beauty and in your soul expression, through the experiences of your soul accumulated in many and diverse past, future, and parallel realities and lifetimes. Do not be afraid to enter into the Deep Truth of Who You Are, and to express and explore that through Love and through the Light of your Heart.

How will you know when your life is "authentic" for you? You will feel within yourself a deep sense of Peace, Joy and Fulfillment. You will feel Gratitude and a sense of a life well lived. And, even if you do not feel those things now, you can know that with the present Twin Flame Heart alignments, you are empowered to begin to shift towards this state of Inner Peace and Joy.

So, we will suggest only how you might begin to manifest and hold the Fifth-dimensional consciousness within your Heart.

Be Free and Experience Freedom within Yourself :  Know that you no longer have to please anyone and you no longer need to "fit in". You need to be You. When you are "authentic" you are Loving and Gentle and Peaceful, and people around you will not feel threatened by your uniqueness, but will celebrate it with you. When you live in this way, your soul will feel free to be All that it can be, and you will unfold into your Full Potential. Be responsible for ensuring that you maintain your own inner sense of freedom and lightness to be Who You Are.

Be Passionate and Share your Passion : Follow your Dreams and Desires. When you are "authentic", people around you will be attracted to you because of your Passion. Do not become obsessed. Remember, a Passion is something that you share with others, it should not be a way of escaping connection and intimacy. A passion in your life should deepen intimacy and love with others, as their Heart passion unites with yours. Know that every Heart has its own Unique Passion and way of expressing that. Be willing to honor and respect the passions of others, and they will honor yours and share yours. When a group of people works together from the united Flame of their Heart's Passions, it is indeed a powerful energy of Love and Creativity.

Be Open and Honest with Yourself and Others : Be aware of what you are feeling within yourself and do not be afraid to express this. Be willing to express your truth. If you do so without anger and aggression, then it will be accepted as such by others. It may not be their truth, but that is not your concern. If they are able to accept your truth, then that is well, but if not, then you should allow yourself to move on until you find those who are will be equally open and honest with you. But know, dearest ones, that the ability to be open and honest and loving rests on the ability to be open and honest and loving with yourself first. The extent to which you are open and honest with yourself, will be reflected in your ability to be that way with others.

Be Original and Adventurous : Don't settle for a life of security, dearest ones, for there is no such thing in the material dimensions. The nature of all existence in the Fifth Dimension, is Fluidity and Flexibility and Change. Cosmic Heart Energy flows and is always seeking new forms and expressions. Be willing to move with that Flow and to allow yourself to create from that Flow and to have fun in the process. Remember how it felt as a child when you embarked on an "adventure" with your friends? So it should feel as your soul explores the new "adventure" of each day. No matter what your life may be, you can always create small adventures of Love and Beauty for yourself within each day.

Be Peaceful and Be Gracious : When you live with your awareness in the Fifth Dimensional level of Consciousness, you will find that you need and desire Peace and Grace. And you will be able to create these things wherever you are, even if you live in the center of a big city and are in the middle of a busy street! For your consciousness will create such a powerful "zone of Peace and Beauty" that it will be felt by all those around you. They will be attracted to you, and this will be reflected in how they respond to you. The Peace and Grace that radiates from You will awaken Joy and Kindness in them.

Live Beyond Social and Verbal Cliches : Dearest Lightworkers, do not assume to know how another person thinks or feels or where they are. Allow them to be where and what they are. Allow them the mystery of their own Uniqueness. In this Fifth Dimensional space, all is Love, and Fear is an illusion. It serves no purpose to say to another : "You are in Fear", for this is more of a reflection of your own need to judge the feelings of another and to feel safe with your mental analyses of what they mean in your life. Look rather to see what is the "Message of Love" that this person brings to you through this reflected "illusion". Most often, it is the need for you yourself to look at your own illusions and to make changes in your life, perhaps to see where and how you have allowed these illusions to take hold in your heart. Dearest ones, living within and yet beyond illusions, in the heart of your own unique truth, is the "skill" of Multi-dimensional Life.

Do not Resist the Flow : Dearest Ones, in the Fifth Dimension of Consciousness the Flow of Unconditional Love is powerful and it will bring many surprising events and changes when you live an authentic life. Do not resist the flow of change, for to do so is to block the flow with the heaviness of old energy illusions. We call these surprise events "miracles", for even if they do not seem so to you at all times, they are designed to keep you within the flow of Abundant Love. If you resist, you block the Flow of Abundant Love within your own Heart, and it begins to flow around you, and so you experience isolation, loneliness and lack. As soon as you open your Heart once again to the Flow of Unconditional Love, then the flow of Abundance will find you. Resistance to the Flow is always a result of fixed expectations and ideas about outcomes. Once you have the ability to release expectations and allow change and flow, you will not be upset or rigid if a manifestation does not materialize as you had expected. Know that all things flow in Divine Order, and that there is a blessing in every shift and change in your life. When you accept change with Grace and Gratitude, you will see and perceive the Abundant Blessings at the Heart of All Things.

I am moving

Hi there, just wanted to post a little note letting everyone know that I am moving on September 1st.  I have been really busy with readings and the emails are coming in fast and furious.  I'm trying to keep up and get to replying as quickly as I can but there are some times that its taking me a few days to get back to people.

That's another reason why I haven't been updating my blog as much as I'd like.  Too much packing!  We are all quite excited to be getting into our new place though.

Everything should be back to normal for me by mid-September -- as long as the new 'old' house doesn't need too much immediate work (it was built in 1896 or there about so we aren't sure yet what will need to be done).  At least I'm psychic so I know it might slow us down a bit, but it won't break us.

Why readings will not normally work for skeptics

We are all a part of a Universal Energy Grid.  The grid is available to everyone, no exceptions.  The Energy is the ocean, and we are drops in the ocean.  It is just a matter of whether or not each individual wants to acknowledge the energies or not.  We clearly have a choice in this.

If you were to sit in quiet meditation and clear out the mundane physical/emotional stuff, you would be able to feel the energies surrounding you, and feel the grid.

When you choose to ignore the energies, you cannot feel them quite so much.  Everyone talks about "following their guts or instincts" or "I knew I should (or shouldn't have) done that", "someone is watching me" -- all these things are brought about by energy.  It doesn't matter if you are a believer or not, you have felt something at some time that cannot be explained by the physical.  Even if it is just an uneasiness at some point about something or some place in your life.  We have a choice in this.  Ignore or acknowledge, its up to you.

I am usually very connected to this energy.  I allow myself to feel it and connect with it.  When I do readings it feels as if all the information is just 'there' and all I have to do is focus and pick it up....as if out of thin air.  I also believe that anyone can do this with practice, trust, patience and coming from a place of non-judgment.  It is our judgments of what we are seeing and feeling that get us mixed up.

I do not walk around in my daily life being 'turned on' or 'tuned in' to other people's energy.  At least I try not to be.  I can feel strong energies at any time, but when I answer my phone, or read my emails, I make a conscious effort not to tune in to the energies of the person I am dealing with at that moment.  I chose not to because you never know what you might end up with.  Not everyone that contacts me has a high light vibration, some are quite low actually, and I don't need to be sucking that up all day long.  Occasionally I will get a phone call or email from someone who wants to disprove what I do, or who wants to attack my energy in some way, I'm not leaving myself open to that.

Much like when people 'play' with Ouija boards.  Entities will likely come through if you try it.  Its just that you don't know what type of energy it will be until it gets there.  Many people who know nothing about energies will play with these 'games' and they will attract all kinds of unsavory types of energy.  These energies take any opportunity they can get to come through and play with people.  I do not allow them to come in when I am doing a reading.  Daily, I protect myself, surround myself with light, and bring in, or connect, with the Light Source Energy of the Grid.  I tell anyone (or anything), that it is not allowed to come near me if it does not come from God and the Light.  I also ask that things be for the Highest and Best Good of the person I am reading for, myself, and all of the Universal Energy.  Negative energies will come in at any chance they get.  The are most likely to pop in when there are novices opening a portal through things like Ouija boards.  It is never a good idea to play with these things if you have no knowledge about how the energies work.

I do not need to be picking up the energies of everyone at a shopping mall either.  It certainly does not serve the highest good of all.  Its not that I can't feel anything when I'm out, its that I make the conscious effort to blanket the feelings to a degree.  There are times when I start to get something, and I really don't want to.  I have the ability to block that out.  Just as a skeptic has the ability to block out whatever they want.

It works very well with skeptics.  If you do not believe in the Universal Energy and you go though your daily life affirming that it does not exist, then you will effectively block it.  If someone comes to me and there is something that they do not want me to see, chances are I will not see it.  Not in its entirety anyway. 

I have no desire to try and prove anything to anyone.  That is not why I am here and that is not my job. My job is to help people on their path and help them to connect to the energy themselves. Everyone needs to find their own way in life.   We are all here for different reasons.  I believe that skeptics have a pivotal role in all of this.  There are many people out there that pretend to be connecting when they aren't.  I think its great that skeptics can tune into that and expose it. 

 If someone asks me to tune into their energy and/or talk to their loved ones or teachers or guides, then I will do it with them.  When I do my readings it is an exchange of energy between me and the person I'm reading for.  I need to have permission from the person's higher self before I can do it.  If a skeptic is sitting in front of me, it is rare if they allow me to tune in.   Sometimes I think it would be easier to help a skeptic tap into their own personal power and intuition than to prove to them that I have already done it myself.

The energy today....

There's another energy shift going on right now.
It woke me up around 2 a.m. last night and I have been awake since.
My phone has also been ringing off the hook for readings the past 24 hours.  Obviously a lot of people are feeling something.
I wanted to write about it for anyone else who is feeling things.
I'll explain my version of it.....
For the past week, I've had almost like a feeling of vertigo.  I checked with some other people I know that work with energy and in one form or another, each of them has been feeling things (some dizzy, some nausiated).
Then last night, I had what felt like a dream, and then I woke up at 2 a.m.   I don't remember the details of the "dream" except that there were an awful lot of spirits around.  All night it felt as if there were entities around keeping me awake.
This morning, my son was upstairs getting dressed for school and he called me.  I went upstairs and he was on his bed with the covers over his head.  This is unusual behaviour for him by the way (he's almost 7).  I asked him what was wrong and he said he was really scared.  He went into my room and something scared him, so he put a blanket over his head.  I had to stay right with him upstairs while he got dressed and brushed his teeth.
I want to make it clear.  I DO NOT feel anything ominous or dark or threatening.  Just a big shift and a LOT of activity going on.
I haven't been told exactly what it is....It could even just have to do with me and my family.  It also could have to do with a major event or shift going on with Mother Earth or a disaster of some kind.  I might find out later, or I might never know.
I just wanted to share it in case others' are feeling a little funny right now.  It might help you to know you aren't alone and that you need not be worried.

What's up with the Energy Right Now?

There is something different about the energy just now.  I know myself that I was somewhat 'down' in March, and feeling strangely apathetic through April.  I was also feeling the need to ground myself all the time.  Its as if if I didn't work on grounding my energies I would spin right off the planet.

Those of you who do energy work or who are aware of subtle energies may have felt this feeling of not being grounded.  Those of you that aren't aware of energies may be feeling 'spinny', unfocused and unable to care to the degree that is normal for you.

Just now I'm getting back to normal, but I'm noticing a lot of my friends and family are feeling it too.  Its a very hard feeling to explain, but if you happen to be going through it, you will know exactly what I'm talking about.  I wanted to write about it because the more people I talk to, the more I realize it is more than just me.  There's nothing worse than being in a mood or state and feeling like there is something wrong with you and wondering what it is. 

I've noticed it in my readings and with my friends and family.  I brought it up at the group I just had in my home, and everyone there knew exactly the energy I was talking about, they were all experiencing feelings that were not the norm for them.  The range seems to be from a feeling of depression or lethargy to feelings of not really caring about what is going on.  My friend was telling me about her young adult son, who is very empathatic and normally a really caring guy and he is having feelings of being drained by his friends.  Normally he is the kid who listens to all his friends problems and helps them out.  The past couple of weeks, he's been fed up with his friends and can't seem to bother caring.  He doesn't have the energy to even talk to them right now.

Its as if we need to be taking care of our own business and sharing energy just isn't the way to go right now.  The more people I talk to, the more I hear "I just can't seem to make myself care about other peoples' stuff right now". 

Looking a bit deeper into these feelings, when you focus on your family and friends you still feel the love in your heart - its reasonating just like always.  You just don't have the energy to share with them.  You don't have the time or focus to get involved (or even listen to) their dramas.

This doesn't need to be a big deal.  If you recognize it for the shift that it is, remember that you still do have the capacity for love and that these feelings will pass, you should get through it just fine. 

When I was going through it myself it felt as if a shift was occuring.  I had a really big urge to move house too.  I'm holding off on listing my place until the energies calm down a bit.  I don't want to make such a big move until I am sure that its not just the shifting energies that is making me feel the urge to get out of here.

Every now and then the energy of and on Mother Earth seems to shift and change, and a lot of us feel these shifts and changes.  This isn't new for me so I just spent some time alone to regenerate and recharge myself.  With all the energy sharing I do I need to do that sometimes.

So, if you happen to be feeling 'not your normal self' lately, try not to be so hard on yourself.  Just know that the energies are shifting, and that you will get through it.  The key to getting through it seems to be allowing yourself to let things go.  Try and spend some time alone or just continue to go through the motions, don't make any major life changes, ground yourself , meditate if you can and allow it to pass.

signs, signals and are you on the right path?

Many people question their intuition and wonder if they are doing the right things, and making the right choices in their life.  Its fairly natural to feel this way, especially with the big stuff, even if you regularly meditate and get guidance from your Teachers and Guides on the other side. 

One way to get a little devine assistance is to ask for something, like an omen of sorts.  Mine is a feather.  Whenever I'm at a crossroads and unsure of something I ask for a feather.  You need to be very clear of what question you are asking of course because if you aren't clear in your question, you will wonder what the answer means.  If you are thinking of making a change in your life, if you have already made one, or if you are just wondering if you are heading in the right direction you can ask for guidance. 

My most meaningful example of this from personal experince was when I had quit my job and was going to start doing readings as my life's work.  Of course I was a bit stressed.  I had quit because I was listening to my intuition, and I was "told" to quit (in meditations and other ways in daily life), but I am human after all, and with that comes the questioning of things.

I asked for my 'peeps' (what my husband calls my helpers from the other side) to provide me with a feather if I was indeed doing the right thing.  It was the middle of winter and I wasn't quite sure how a feather would be produced in the snow, but I knew that I needed some help and that my helpers on the other side would be there.  I figured maybe I would be out and a feather from a down filled jacket would float into my field of vision or something.

What happened is this.  I went out to a local pub to have some lunch with friends. There were a few of us sitting around and the friend that was sitting beside me had the most beautiful parrot feather sitting in front of her at the table.  She was playing Keno (a form of gambling for those of you who don't know), and it was her good luck charm. 

I was sitting there wondering if that could be my "sign", my feather.  My first thought was "of course its my feather".  Not really questioning (just a little inkling in the back of my human mind wondering if that was it).

A few minutes later, this friend got up to leave.  She placed the feather square in front of me, maybe 10 inches from my nose and said "Here, you have this feather, maybe it will bring you more luck that it brought me".

Wow!  I was pretty amazed. 

Not every feather that I have received has been quite so amazing, but there have been a few that seemed like impossible things until they presented themselves right to my face.  So next time you are wondering about your course of action, and trying to listen to your intuition, and you just need a little help, ask for something - pretty much anything, and see if it doesn't come presenting right to you.  Just make sure you are clear with your intentions of what you want the answer to, and PAY ATTENTION.

Moving into the Future

I just had to write an article on moving forward. I've had so many people pass through my life recently, friends and clients, that are suffering financially and wondering if they are truly doing the right thing.

I myself went through this a few years ago. I was working full-time for the government, with a good paying, responsible job, working my way up the corporate ladder. I figured if I got high enough up there I would be able to make a difference.

I also just happened to be a psychic. I did psychic readings on the side for many years, and just kept trudging along like that, figuring that it would last indefinitely. I had a pension plan, regular paycheque, seniority, the ability to work anywhere in the province, and most of all I had security.

Then it hit me. What was my true calling anyway? Like many others on earth right now no matter how hard I worked or how much work I brought home, or how many people I supervised and tried to help, I simply didn't feel like I was doing all I came here to do. It was lucrative, yet it felt empty in so many ways.

I really enjoyed the psychic readings I did. I met so many people. Helped so many people. I was able to help more with my psychic readings than I was at the Welfare Office where I worked that's for sure. My day-job felt so empty. It got to the point where I felt badly just getting up and going to work in the morning. Where was the difference I was supposed to be making in the world?

It seems like I meet people all the time who are in the position I was just a few years ago. Some are feeling a pull to do more, some have quit the rat race and have started their own thing, yet are still struggling. Where is the relief?

Many of us were taught that in order to have things we needed to work very hard and sacrifice. If there is no sacrifice there is no reward. These days, that just simply does not make any sense. Some of us still have family that tells us "your suffering is your own fault, if you just went back to work at a real job and got a paycheque your life would be so much easier". This isn't true for us as a species anymore.

The world is changing very quickly. We as the humans of earth right now are ascending with Mother Earth herself. Things cannot go on the way they always have. Lightworkers and scientists alike have now realized that we are the Creators of our own reality. There is the "Law of Attraction", and we can and do create whatever we want. What we focus on expands. We need to get our focus away from the old words of "you must sacrifice and work hard to survive".

Now, this is not to say that we sit around on our behinds all day doing nothing. What it means, is we are allowed to live our dream. We are allowed to leave the rat race and dedicate ourselves to helping others. We do not need to suffer anymore.

There are many people who think they have realized this. They make a decision. Say that they are ready to take whatever comes, they will change their lives and they will work to change and improve their own little corner of the world. So far so good. Off they go with all their good intentions, and nothing happens right away.

Panic sets in. "Oh no, what if I have made the wrong decision". My debt load is going up. Income is sporadic at best at first. The doubt builds and builds. Each day, we doubt, and each day things seem to go downhill a little more. From the beginning, we have been doubting whether or not we've made the right decision. When things don't happen as quickly as we would like, we start to think more and more about the past. How things were when we were 'working'. Not mentioning of course that we are still 'working', just at something that we are more passionate about. And remember, we were taught from a young age that if we do not work and suffer, we will never be financially successful.

Maybe we should go back to our old job - "They might take me back", we think. Or, at least "I know I can get a job doing the same thing as I was before". Here's where the Universe helps us out. Things get even trickier for us, especially financially -- because that is where our focus is. Then, we may even get a job offer, or see a position advertised, or hear from a friend that someone is hiring. We would be perfect for the job! It is exactly the job we left that we were so good at.

Those of us that have become accustomed to thinking that there are no coincidences may think that it would be in their best interest to take that job. After all, Spirit has put it right in front of us. Who would we be if we didn't listen. Maybe we are meant to go back to our old line of work. We do need to eat. The thing that many of us don't seem to realize is that WE are the Creators. By being unsure of where we are going, by constantly questioning "are we doing the right thing", we are creating our own financial suffering. Then the Universe gives us exactly what we have been asking for, which is more doubt. We create a job that we can go back to. Yes, we created it. Spirit did not place it in front of us. We created it because it is what makes us feel safer.

Now here's the hard part. Can you turn it down? Do you want to live in your past? Repeat your past? Do what you have always done? Sell out? Go back to where you swore you never would? These comments are not meant to make you feel bad. They are the comments that we all have running through our heads when we are in this situation.

This is your chance. Your chance to make your decision, once and for all. Do you want to move forward or do you want to go back to where you were before. Its important that you know you cannot fail. No matter what your decision -- you will NOT fail on your path in this lifetime. You can slow yourself down, experience different things, but you CANNOT FAIL.

I cannot make decisions for you, however, I can give you my insight into these situations. You need to make a decision, trust your decision, and stick with it. No doubt, no fear. You are supported. We all have helpers on the other side, they will never abandon you. You simply need to TRUST. Trust that you have made your decision. That the decision is correct, and that you will not go backwards. See where it is you want to be. Financially, spiritually, physically. See it and trust you will get there. Don't worry about how you are going to get there. KNOW you will get there. You are supported.

As soon as you let go of the idea that you may need to go backwards, or that maybe you won't be successful, you will see abundance like you have never imagined.

How many of us see things that we simply don't talk about?

We were sitting at the dinner table a couple of weeks ago (Oct 26), and I was talking to my son who is 6. I saw line of energy above his head, just appeared there for a few seconds and then was gone.

It was about 2 feet long and was a little wider in the middle. When it disappeared again, it reminded me of the very old televisions, the ones where when you turned them off they got this white line that went outward to both sides of the screen and then kind of sucked into itself, made a dot in the middle of the screen and was gone.

Things like this happen frequently around here and my family is used to me chatting about things I'm seeing, or 'getting' (don't really want to say 'hearing', wouldn't want you to all think I'm nuts LOL).

Anyway, I'm telling my awesome other half about it, and my son says "I see those all the time, in my room after you tuck me in and leave".

Now, I know that my son has a lot of my gifts. He is very much a 'textbook example' of a Crystal child - except, like his mom, he started talking early and hasn't stopped talking since.

Anyway, I just said "Oh" and let him continue. He told me that he does not see them when I am in the room. It is only after I leave that they appear. I asked him if they were "on the walls", wanting to make sure it wasn't a play of the light through the blinds.

He told me with a lot of certainty that, no, they were floating around, and not on the walls. He also told me that there was a circle underneath them, kind of in the middle.

He told me he wasn't really afraid of them or anything, just that they were there. Funny how with certain things, kids just take for granted that everyone else feels and sees what they do. Its not until they get older do they realize that not everyone sees these things.

I think there are a lot more of "us" out there than we realize. There are a lot of people who just don't feel like they can share this type of thing without being told they are lying or crazy.

There's a whole lot of people out there, young and old, who deny seeing things like this, or push them away once they hit school age and just simply forget about them, until who knows when. Sometimes forever I suppose.

I think its time for us to stop hiding, don't you?

What's Up With This?

I was watching the news on Global just now. I really wonder what is up with the state of our world these days.
One of the top stories was about a woman in Las Vegas who had been feeding homeless people for years. She was in a park and had what looked like fairly nourishing food, with fresh fruits and everything.
These people clearly needed her help, and they said so. God bless this woman and her kindness.
Unfortunately.....this wasn't just a nice human interest story of one person helping others. Turns out the story was about how Las Vegas has just passed a bylaw that makes it illegal for this woman to feed homeless people. The city counsellors say that they will feed them with soup kitchens and that she can be fined up to $1000 for feeding them. Unbelieveable.

On to the next story. This one is closer to home for me, up in B.C. We have had quite the heatwave here for the past while. They are using words like 'drought', which I suppose is a appropriate word since we have barely had rain this July. Well, they first talk to one fellow who is growing potatoes. He has to irrigate his fields at a cost of $3000 per day. He had to buy an additional piece of equipment at a cost of $40,000 to irrigate a larger part of his field. Then the screen flips to the next farmer that they are talking to. Here is a vegetable farmer that cannot afford to water his entire crops, so he has to decide which ones to water, and which ones to let go. How sad is that???

Here are these men, who in this day and age have decided to work hard at farming (and it is hard work), a job that not a lot of people aspire to lately.
They have such a super important job. They are feeding people here! If they were not there what the heck would we be eating.
Now there would be a worthy cause for the government to step up and help to water the crops.

So in one short newscast I learn it is illegal to feed the poor, and no one cares that the precious food that we might have available right here, is worthless to government and the powers that be --- they aren't going to go broke because a field dries up. Nor will they go hungry because a field dries up. They have the money to get whatever type of food they want from where ever.

I pray that one day we will live in a society where it really is okay to take care of each other.
