RIP us (for now anyway)

Due to not being able to find a bassist and the ever-so-classic internal turmoil it is with lots of sadness and absolutely zero regrets that we've decided

Public Disturbance is DEFUNCT

once again, between not being able to find a bassist who will either stick around, not get involved in a fucked up drug situation, or not be a complete whiny baby, and the shit going on in between bassits. we decided maybe it's not exactly best for our message to be conveyed when we need to get OUR shit together.
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU
those of you who supported us throughout these past years
those of you who never stopped talking shit and perpetuated our presence
those of you who came to all our shows
those of you who ACTUALLY BOUGHT stuff from us
the kids in all the states we've hit up throughout the years
the kids we've partied with
and most importantly those of you who we influenced to become more politically active.

PUBLIC DISTURBANCE WAS:

Brian Disturbance: Guitar/Vocals (2002-2008)
Dave Disturbance: Drums (2002-2008)
"Trench": Bass (2002-2005)
Tom: Rhythm Guitar/Backup Vocals (2002-2004) (2007-2007)
Ant : Rhythm Guitar/Backup Vocals (2004-2005) (2007-2007)
Bill : Bass/Backup Vocals (2006-2007)
Dango: Bass/Backup Vocals (2007-2007)

[for those of you who may be interested in getting our music or whatever merch we still got left, contact me at www.myspace.com/brian_disturbance and i will be more than happy to make you up a cd. even fuckin better if you're not gonna make me pay for shipping and actually give me something for it. i know how cheap all you bastards are though, and i wouldn't have it any other way.]

We stole this from Elaine
Category: Religion and Philosophy

On her radio show recently, Dr Laura Schlesinger said that, as an observant
Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance . The following response is an open letter to Dr. Laura, penned by a US resident, which was posted on the Internet. It's funny, as well as informative:

Dear Dr. Laura:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. ... End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Law and how to follow them.

1. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

4. Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. The passage clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an
abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? - Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

Your adoring fan,

James M. Kauffman, Ed.D.

The Fabulous Life of:

Do - Nothing people in society.

In complete lethargy i watched about 15 minutes of this atrocity on VH1 (go figure) and it was an hour long special on how GREAT the lives of the rich and famous are, and how much better than you they happen to be because of it.  It makes me sick that one person can own 17 acres of beach front in a town that's about 80 acres big, just so they can ride their horses all over the place.  This coming from contributing to one of the most neccessary  occupations, being a good actor.  Meanwhile the people who make sure you have clothes to wear, food to eat and all sorts of other ACTUAL staples, make barely enough to own where they live.  The we send soldiers out to risk their lives, and even if there was a way to die four or five times, they STILL would not make a tiny iota in insurance of what these people wipe their asses with.

Granted, money is filthy anyway,  but in terms of using it to describe value, we value "Toy Story" more than we value the lives of the people we send off to die by the thousands "in defense of our freedom"  (something america values greatly ::scoff::)  How great a country we have that we piss moan and groan for this war.  we pay for it in taxes and taxes and taxes. Then we go and pay EVEN more money for these "entertainers" to sedate us til we forget about it.  Make it go away for an hour and a half Mr. Costner.  These people have a quality of life you and I will NEVER see if we continue to ALLOW IT.  If we continue SUPPORTING them, and if we continue to TURN THE OTHER CHEEK.

Thousands more will die, and even more will sedate themselves to take the blame off their shoulders.  We make these people richer and richer inadvertently.  Boycott hollywood,  there is no way some billion dollar coke-blowin toothpick is better than you or I, EVER.  So lets show them that.  Besides, there's a world out there, why buy into being confined?  Honestly, think about it. When's the last time you went out, and you were not just out of the house and in another four-walled confinement, but actually outside?  rarely do we see people in the streets.  Inside is where they want you.  Any programming on television ALWAYS takes place indoors.  They don't want us on the streets.  If we take to just lazing about on the streets as opposed to confined to our housing, we would start talking to eachother, and that's how people would find out that the polls on tv are all lies, not everybody is out to get you, and you can count on your neighbors more than the pigs in blue.  So give it a shot, next time instead of going to the movies just hang around outdoors.  Say hi to random people, take a walk. INTERACT.  Set an example.  Change is gradual, and it starts with all of us.

oh yeah, fuck hollywood and any band that makes you pay more than 20 bucks to see them

make an anti recruitment effort

Recruiter Near YOU
by
The Slingshot Collective

The following US Army recruiting stations are in or near areas that have significant radical communities. Therefore, this is a reasonable initial list of recruiting stations that could be targeted for disruptive actions designed to cripple the US war effort in Iraq. A diversity of tactics is in order, ranging from protests, telephone call campaigns and informational pickets to occupations, wheatpasting, graffiti, etc. Folks may want to design theater performances wherein buzz cut potential recruits show up and ask some mighty hard questions about all those weapons of mass destruction and the “don’t ask, don’t tell policy.” The recruitment arm of the military is essential to the functioning of the whole machine — they shouldn’t get a free ride here in the US while the slaughter continues in Iraq. Get together with your friends, use you’re creativity and don’t get caught!
