The Arguments
This 5 piece band is from Glasgow consisting of David O'Hara (Guitar & Vox), Ronan McMacken (Guitar & Vox), Paul Moody (Saxophone & Keyboards), Alan (Bass & Vox) and Barry Morgan (Drums & Percussion)
There style is rock / indie and they seem to slot quite nicley into each genre with diffrent songs and sounds. There use of a sax in some of this proves an intresting mix of musical influence.
Ok, im going to go with reviewing pink flowers just for the fact im a girl!!
The song is about the love of your life, the one that got away and looking back on what happend. Everyone has been through this whether they like to admit it or not!!
The tune its self is great, not trying to be complicated and superstarish, but still a great sound, almost reminds me of U2. All the instruments go together and everyone plays them well, I especialy like the keyboards in this paticular song.
The singing im not overly sure about, it can be a bit hard to make out and a bit forced in the chorus. It would work well for some songs but to me this is a nice and simple song and a softer approach to the singing might work a bit better.
The lyrics are good and its something everyone can relate to :)
Would i buy the album? No...not that i dont like them, iv seen them live and they were fine, just that its not the kind of music im totaly into.
Would i pay to see them? If they were on suporting another band i liked then id be happy enough.

John Langan - Review
Current mood: calm
Category: Music
Ok, for the first of my reviews im gonna go a wee bit out of the norm :)
John Langan, a singer song writer from Irvine brings an irish sound to his music with soft voice and powerful lyrics.
His songs have a very chilled out theme to it, Being acoustic just makes it all the more intresting as you get what you see and theres no hidding behind mixing desks. To be honest its not something id usualy listen to, but as im sitting tired from a hard day, trying to get 10 minits piece writting this i can feel all my stress just ebbing away!!
3 Candles is the most played on his myspace page (837 veiws so far!) , so i thought id see what all the fuss was about!
The song was created when John was at home one day and had 3 candles lit and seemingly the song wrote its self, not a bad thing either.
Anyway to the song, To me its a love song, a guy with questions about life and being guided to what it is he wants to do and how he wants to live, But rather than just telling him what he should do , she coaxes out what he already knows in himself. Its realy quite deep for this style of music, Most other songs you just listen to for the song, not the lyrics, but with this you realy do listen to it and take it in.
The actual music is an amasing to be honest, its been put together very well and theres nothing that sounds out of place, the penny whistle (why did i wrote pan pipes??!!??) is a haunting addition which basicaly finishes it off what already is a lovley song. Totaly fantasic and i cant wait to hear more!!
now..the all important questions....
Would i buy an album? Yes!!! Totaly, Id love to hear more from John if his songs are anything like 3 candles, the guy is superb!!
Would i pay to see him? Yes, If your after a mad night out, id say it wasnt for you, but if its just a nice relaxing evening with a few friends then go for it!
