One more tat!
Category: Art and Photography
I got another really beautiful tattoo today! A nice feminine piece on my right upper arm near where I had the puzzle piece inked in on the 4th.... I will post pics soon. Had an awesome party with my friends and family... it was a really good day. I am sad that a couple of my buds have to get home tomorrow, but it has been a BLAST having them here for a couple days.
I have to get back to my regular job on Monday, but it sure was nice to have a crazy, fun, wacky, spontaneous, and very memorable 30th birthday celebration week!!!!
Time to clock a few ZZZzzzZZZzzz's.....

New Tattoo!
Category: Art and Photography
So I got a new tattoo today!
I plan to get another tomorrow, today's was just a spontaneous fun piece.
One of my best friends, Brandy, and I wanted a friendship tattoo to commemorate our 20th year as friends. We have been trying to come up with the perfect idea but nothing has felt "right"... until today...
We went to the tattoo expo at the Spokane Fairgrounds and we were really looking forward to a show they were holding with "Enigma", the blue puzzled man. Turned out he was doing some of his legendary blue puzzle piece tattoo sessions and we both felt like that was our perfect 20th anniversary friendship tattoo! We both got a blue puzzle piece tattooed on us by Enigma and our pieces complete eachother. So when we put them up together they look like they would match if placed on a table... it may seem silly to some but it sure means a lot to us. I am VERY happy with it as is Brandy.
We are both going to try and get bigger more elaborate pieces done tomorrow just depending on funds, artist availability, and such.
Off to bed for me... we have to be up semi early to go back to the expo for a bit to finish our ink and then we are having a belated b-day party for my 30th with a bunch of friends and family... good times to be had!

Turning 30.
Category: Life
So... it happened... I am now 30 years old... but it has been a pretty smooth transition.
I did not grow any grey hairs, I did not break a hip, I did not even die or anything... *LOL* I am still me... just a little older, a lot wiser, and definitely in a better financial situation than I was a decade ago... so really, things are looking up. I really feel like I will have more to look forward to in my thirties in truth.
My birthday was very fun... my friends Nelle and Travis and my hubby Glenn accompanied me to see Ellis Paul play in Seattle on Friday night. I was so stoked he was performing close by ON my 30th birthday! It was an amazing show, I got to sing with him again, not on stage but from the front row in the audience and it was great. We got pictures together and he signed all of the CD's I have of his which is ALL of them. He was very kind and gracious as always. What a wonderful show and a great time I was able to share with my hubby and my friends.
Saturday we bummed all around Seattle going on an Argosy cruise, going to the aquarium, and to the science center, and ended the evening at a Mariners game where the Mariners got their asses handed to them by the Royals. That is ok though... we still got to treat ourselves to some garlic fries and that was worth it. After the game we enjoyed a long swim in the pool and a long soak in the hot tub at the hotel...
We just got back this evening. It is nice to go on vacation, but coming home feels pretty darn nice too!
I am taking this whole week off as vacation too so it will be good to catch up on things at our house and just kick back till this weekend when one of my best friends from Oregon comes up to visit and party!
Good times as always!!!

Ellis Paul Concert!!!!
Current mood: ecstatic
Category: Music
What a weekend!!!!! Glenn and I just got back last night from Seattle to see Ellis Paul, my all time favorite musical hero... It was awesome... Gosh, where to begin... well probably for me, I should start with the best part! It was amazing because during the concert we were in the front row and of course I was singing along with every song and on his last song during his encore he started his song "Conversation With A Ghost" and he was going to have the gal who opened for him, Antje Duvekot, (who is amazing as well, might I add), sing the female harmony part but they could not find her so he decided to do the song without her and when it came to the part where the female voice kicks in I started singing my heart out and he stopped the song and said, "You... you have been singing to me all night, you get up here and sing with me." And the whole crowd cheered! I was BLOWN away!!!! I am still reeling! To be told by your musical hero to get up on stage and sing with him.... oh wow...... I still can hardly find the words... I was so touched and excited and nervous.... my hands were shaking the whole time, but they had an awesome mic set up and I could totally hear myself and I did really good. (Of course I pulled Glenn on stage with me for support... hahaha... I am such a baby....) Afterward Ellis hugged me and gave me a kiss on the cheek and told me I was really really good! That was just icing on the cake... *LOL* Unbelievable.... that was WAY more than I EVER expected to have happen... In other news, we also went to the Seattle Zoo even though it was POURING rain at the time and got to see lots of cool animals, we went down to the piers to the Crab Pot restaurant for a unique dining experience, and we also went to the EMP (Experience Music Project), and played in the sound booths, saw some famous folks outfits and musical instruments, went to the sci-fi exhibit in there that has tons of old movie props and memorabilia, (Star Wars, Star Trek, Aliens, Planet of the Apes, etc.), and they also had a rare art exhibit that just happened to be there displaying classic paintings by Monet, Van Gogh (my all time favorite!), Renoir, Lichtenstein, etc... that was very surreal seeing the REAL paintings... some having been created over a century ago! Some of them the paint is so thick and rigid.... on some you can sincerely appreciate how the artist had to of deliberately created an affect of being up close to the painting and it appears all distorted and then as you step slowly further away it all comes into focus... it was truly breath taking! So all in all a good time, but it sure does feel good to come HOME and get settled back in... I am looking forward to having this week off to really get the house in order and get it more livable and ready to entertain people this weekend... we will be having our house warming party on the 15th... it should be fun.... I am so glad to be on vacation this week. I SO need it....

checking in...
Current mood: creative
Halloween was such a blast!!! We had a Halloween/29th B-day bash for my best friend! It was wild and soooo much fun!!!
Hope everyone else had an awesome holiday!
I am thinking a career change will be coming soon so I will be happier day to day and so I will have more time for my music and art.
The monetary risk is worth the piece of mind and decrease in stress.
It is time.

New pics added today!
Had to post one of myself in my costume last Halloween as it is the season! I went as "Mrs. Hyde." It was great fun and a very cute outfit with just a touch of creepiness. With my clunky 4 inch boots on I was like 6' tall. That was cool! :)
Not too much going on musically here recently. Trying to get refocused and re-inspired.
Loving this time of year though... crisp and cool... gorgeous colors. And the moon is phenominal tonight! Yellowish orange, full, round, and a wisp of charcoal colored clouds misting across the surface... heavenly.
