and they cry
do they know
they do not cry alone
after
do they feel You close
tenderly wiping away their tears
holding them close
comforting
as they tremble in pain
in fear
do they know
you are there
great sadness in Your eyes
for their pain
tears of Your own that fall
as You remember Your own suffering
as You reach out
to heal
to take away
the fear
the sadness
the pain
to replace it
with love
Its a known fact, bad things happen. We may never know in this lifetime why it does. Just that it does. But, to me, in all the adversity and struggles, I have found the strength and power to keep going, in the faith and love I have in my Savior. I am a domestic abuse survivor, I am a cancer survivor, I am a Christian not bemoaning the fates and asking why- I ask 'why not?' and accept it as a way to grow closer and strong in my faith..I use it as a training ground so that should I meet someone struggling, I can and do understand- I've been there. Not alone- I've been there with love.

I Know You Hear (a poetrynest2 challenge)

So many Lord are crying out to You
their tears fall freely, their sobs shaking their body
they have reached the end of their strength
they are weary and battle worn
their souls are broken, their hearts torn
with hands clenched tightly, as their body shakes
with words that won't quite form
they seek You
crying out, begging for the peace
that they know, comes only from You
and they seek You
for the healing of their heart
the rest that will come, when they are safe in You
abiding in Your love, Your holy mercy
from down on their knees they cry
imploring with silent words straight from the soul
they seek You
as they cry, as they pray, asking You
for the strength to continue
rest for their weary soul
peace, for their troubled mind
healing, for a body wracked with illness and pain
suffering, from this worldly life
with hands stretched, reaching to the heaven's
reaching to You
heads bowed, unable to look, ashamed in the knowledge
of past wrongs
they seek You
So many Lord, so many seek
so many pray
and I know, You hear them all.

Were my words right Lord
when he asked the question?
Did I say what You wanted me to
when I spoke of You
some times I fear I stumble
and my words come out confused
was the meaning clear
did I say, what he needed to hear?
How do I answer the questions
that some are bound to ask
help me Lord, know the way
to the right words to say
Help me to be prepared
when the questions come
let me know where to start
with the answers held in my heart
simple and direct
nothing that will confuse
help me that my answers are simple and true
when I speak to others, about You.
Allow the seed that I plant
about Your compassion and love
allow me to speak freely in every place
explaining happily, of Your mercy and grace
make my words, carefully chosen
find a home in the listener's heart
let my words be Savior driven
as I talk of how all can be forgiven
This world has become such a confusing place
with so much clutter hiding the important
allow me to know from Your absolute perfection
how to bring out Your beauty and truth, for easy detection
Were my words, the ones You'd have me speak
when I answered the questions asked
because his questions seemed honest and true
and I wanted to answer, bringing glory to You.

Never Let me Lord

I love You Lord
and I simply ask
give to me
understanding
for the actions of others
can be confusing
allow me to understand
so I will know
how to act
what to say
to those I pass.
Give to me wisdom
awaken my heart
to the needs
and concerns
of those I see
so that I can reach out
in compassion and love
as You do.
Help me Lord
to always remain strong in You
always have my eyes and my heart
strong in You
never forgetting
You are here, beside me, with me
always leading me
home to You.
As I walk with You Lord
never let me miss a chance
to share You
never let me pass by
a wounded soul, in need of You.
for You are the Healer of hearts.

I am one voice

I am one voice
I am not a name
known by many
you will not see me
in the movies
on your television screen
my voice will not sound
from your radio
I am
a mother
a sister
a daughter
a friend
I am
a cancer survivor
I am also a voice
crying out
seeking
asking
reminding
there are those that still fight
they need
us
so they too
can stand up in the face of this disease
so they too
can turn and walk away
a survivor.

I thank you, my Lord
that I can come to You
humbly before You bow
spending time with You
resting in Your glory
talking to You Lord
about all things.
I can tell You Lord my worries
the fears that grip my heart
Knowing, that you already know
but are waiting for me
to bring them all to You
and lay them at Your feet
realizing, that once there
You will handle them, in Your time and way
and I worry no more.
In my weary state, when the days beat me down
with You, I can find rest
with You, there is a quiet comfort
that I can find, nowhere else
I do thank you my Lord
my Savior
that I can in all humility
come into Your presence
and even though I am unworthy
in my heart, I know
Your all encompassing,
love, mercy and grace

I walk in Faith

I walk in faith
knowing, without any doubt
that You are with me
I feel a peace inside
that can only come from You
my soul rests in the ever present calm
that is You
In my belief, I dance
celebrating joyously
with full abandon
singing Your praises
shouting Your name
as my heart rejoices, fully in You
fully in the knowledge of Your presence
in the comfort that surrounds
protecting me from worldly fears
securing me, in Your love
I am able to recognize Your mercy
acknowledge Your grace
as I walk in my faith
believing and trusting fully in You.

And your voice whispered, "I'm sorry"
how many times before
have I heard that?
as you picked me up
held me close, tended to the hurt
but it no longer mattered
and you whispered, "I didn't mean to"
once again
a bandaid on an open wound
a salve for your soul
that doesn't help mine
your words come easily
just as easily as the blows
your apologies mean nothing
for I no longer hear them
you can no longer hurt me now
never again, will your blows bring pain
save your tears
save your false remorse
your guilt
save you apologies
for you can touch me no more
I'm not sure what possessed my muse to go this route. Thankfully this is not something I deal with on a personal basis. Not any longer any way.
