CLASSICAL METAL – Why do Heavy Metal fans like my music ?

I get alot mail from Heavy Metal fans saying how much they relate to my music and what I'm doing. If you check out some of the comments I've got on my 'fans page'- all the top right hand section is from Metal Heads. I've also noticed that when you type in 'classical' in the MySpace search box a lot of metal bands have categorized themselves under 'classical', for example - gothic/metal/classical or classical/deathmetal/progressive etc. And of course, Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin choose my album "Bellatrix" as one of his top ten all time classical favorites.

There seems to be a special though, unusual relationship between Metal and Classical music which I am keen to learn more about. I'm looking to put together an article about this unusual chemistry from 'the composers" point of view and would like some feeback to get a better understanding of it.

So, my question is this :- Why do Heavy Metal fans like my music ?

		As many of you know, I'm on a mission to spread a little beauty with some real music and real musicians. As a 'people's composer', one of my aims is to reach out to those who might not normally have the opportunity to hear 'classic cool music' and give them a chance to enjoy this beautiful and inspiring work.
