Notox

Hambakenwetering 7
5231 DD 's-Hertogenbosch

THE NETHERLANDS

Notox is a commercial contract research laboratory 'specialized' in toxicity trials. Its headquarters are based in Den Bosch, The Netherlands but they have support offices in Switzerland, Japan and the United States as well. This sick company is offered huge amounts of blood money by clients in the food, household products, (agro)chemical and pharmaceutical industry to poison innocent animals. Pesticides, food additives, chemical compounds and so forth are all tested on living, sentient beings in useless, unreliable and above all cruel experiments. About 200 beagle dogs and many more rabbits, rats and mice are trapped inside the Notox lab in Den Bosch. These animals are subjected to pain and abuse on a daily basis and live in constant fear and stress. The (vast) majority of experiments conducted here is done without using anesthetics as is common in the field of toxicity research. Similarly, in most toxicity experiments no methods of pain relief are applied nor are analgesics used as these 'may influence or even mess up research findings'. In this manner, Notox tortures and kills around 30.000 animals annually, accounting for 5% of all animal lives squandered by the vivisection industry in the Netherlands. Yet scum at Notox want to abuse even more animals; from its inception in 2006 they have taken an interest in REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals), a new European Union Regulation put in place to address the production and use of chemical substances, and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment. Within this legislation 30.000 chemicals have to be retested for safety reasons even though many of them have already been extensively tested before and have since been in use for ages. It is estimated that conducting all required safety trials will take up to 11 years to complete and will cost about 8 million animals their precious lives. For animal killers like Notox, this means business. They compete with the likes of Huntingdon Life Sciences and Covance to get as many REACH-related contracts as they can get their bloody hands on. CEO Wilbert Frieling does not see anything wrong with exploiting and torturing animals as long as he and his sadist colleagues can fill their pockets. According to this sicko all animal experiments at Notox are 'required by law' so they don't even have a choice. Besides the fact that toxicity testing on household products does not legally require the use of laboratory animals let it be clear that nothing or no one forces Notox to systematically poison animals and cutting them open. Let it be know that laws that make animal testing mandatory are there just BECAUSE companies like Notox and the industries they work for want them to be. They are the ones having executives on advisory boards and commissions that put pressure on regulatory authorities that deal with animal research or are often even part of said authorities. Notox and their scumbag workers are to blame for the suffering of thousands of animals every day. They themselves have full responsibility for the vile acts of torture they commit. There is no hiding from the truth. Close down, Notox now!
