On the Beaten Path: Progressive Rock - Now Available!
Hi everyone,
I'm very excited to announce that my second book is finished and available now! It's called On the Beaten Path: Progressive Rock – The Drummer's Guide to the Genre and the Legends Who Defined It (Book & CD), and it's available at www.amazon.com and www.alfred.com, and more book shops are popping up with it every day. It also just shipped out to local drum shops nationwide, and will be available at Guitar Center in the next week or so, and Barnes & Noble soon after.
I hope you can take a minute and check it out.
Thanks to all of you for your support and encouragement throughout this entire process. Believe me, it really means a lot and is never forgotten.
Feel free to pass this along to anyone you know who might enjoy the book, and I'd love to hear what you think once you've had a chance to read it. Posting a review on Amazon is super helpful too if you'd be so kind!
Thanks, and I hope you're having a great day!

On The Beaten Path Wins No.1 Book in BOTH Modern Drummer AND Drum! 2008 Reader’s Polls
I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for voting for On The Beaten Path: The Drummer's Guide to Musical Styles and the Legends Who Defined Them in the 2008 Reader's Poll's for both Modern Drummer and DRUM! magazines. Thanks to you, it ended up winning 1 Educational Book in both polls! This is quite an honor and I am truly thankful. To top things off, the latest issue of DRUMscene magazine, Australia's leading drummer magazine, had a beautiful 5-page feature on the book. They said that it has "set a new benchmark in music education," and they called it "the groove and reference bible for a huge part of the modern drum set." I just wanted to send this update and let you know it's all going very well, and thank you very much for all the continued support!

Greatest Recorded Moments in Prog Rock Drumming
Category: Music
I think the greatest recorded moment in progressive rock drumming is Neil Peart's monster drum fill in Tom Sawyer. It's what made me pick up the sticks and start playing. What's your favorite recorded prog rock drumming moment?

Who is your favorite drummer and why?
Category: Music
I can't pick just one, which is why I had to write an entire book on the subject! But I'd love to hear what drummers are blowing your mind at the moment. This is a place where you can discuss your drumming heros, past and present, and what it is about their playing that is so impressive to you.
