Are you Bromophobic? (don’t answer just yet)
Current mood: amused
Category: Music
In my last post someone asked me what was up with Lil' Wayne wearing a "T-Wayne" shirt and I responded by saying that him and T-Pain are forming a group and that's the name. I then referred to the name as "bromosexual" and that seemed to catch a few people's attention. I even got a text message early this morning asking me "what is bromosexual?" I'm pretty certain that Bromosexual doesn't have a Webster's definition, but if I had to come up with one I'd say that bromosexual referrs to a seemingly platonic male relationship with slightly homosexual undertones.
Examples: *Lil' Wayne kissing baby...bromosexual *T-Pain talking about the size of Ray-J's "meat" (his words not mine)...bromosexual *The way that Game is obbsessed with Dr. Dre...bromosexual *Young Buck crying about how Lloyd Banks and Yayo would feel about him...bromosexual
I think you get the point. Oh you don't? You need a more extreme example you say? Ok...
...sigh you asked for it. You understand now? Great. I appreciate your time. I hope this experience has been educational and fun. You can now return to bro-ing out or whatever it is you do when you're not reading my blogs. Don't forget to check out www.fatkidfresh.com!!!! I post so much sh*t over there on the daily! you're missing out son.

Now I'm a fan of different sh*t and I tip my hat to T-Pain for making something outside the box, but I have to ask...is this video slightly disturbing to anyone else? And am I the only one gets slighty sick in my stomach when Wanye "sings"?

Hip-Hop The Movie Staring Asher Roth as Stan
Current mood: bitchy
Category: Music
1st and formost I already know that I run the risk of falling into the category of hater with this post but I annoyed and I feel the need to talk...or...type out loud. If you're not familar with the man pictured above his name is Asher Roth and he's Hip-Hop's newest great white hype. He's got a mixtape out hosted by DJ Drama and he's signed to Steve Rifken's (of Loud Records fame) SRC lable. You may remember a few months ago I wrote a blog on Def Jam signing a white rapper by the name of Pittsburg Slim. Well much to my percieved haterific delight he went on to do nothing. I was in Best Buy last week and I stumble upon dude's CD. Who knew it even came out!?
Anyway this isn't about Slim, its about Asher Roth. Before I really get into talking about this dude you need to hear what I'm talking about so listen to this track and then continue...
...Ok now let's continue. I don't want it to come of like I hate white rappers becuase I don't, some of my best friends are white rappers (honestly). I'm not even gonna say that I don't like Asher Roth because honestly I'd like to like him. I'm just undecided @ the moment. I don't like how he carries himself @ the moment. I guess it would be ignorant of me to not start off by pointing to the fact that he sounds EXACTLY like Eminem!!! You did notice that right? His vocal tone is dead on that perticular song wasn't a good example of the fact that he flows and pronounces words like Eminem, I just started with that cause that song is going to be his first single. Here's another Asher joint so you can see the Stan in him...
...See what I mean? I'm not even gonna front and say that I don't like that song cause I do BUT when I listen to it about halfway through I have to remind myself that I'm NOT listening to Eminem. We all learn to rap from somebody, look up to somebody, borrow pieces of our style from somebody, but in my personal opinion his style is a little TOO dead on Eminem. It might even be more acceptable is Eminem was dead as we had numerous rappers from Trick Daddy to Ja Rule envoke the spirit of 2Pac once he passed, but Eminem is still with us and rumor has it is working on a new album. Too me his sound is a slap in the face to Eminem who is the G.O.A.T. of white rappers and one of the best MCs period.
The picture above that I swiped from his myspace page is my next issue with Mr. Roth. On his myspace page under this picture it says "seriously...its a hobby". Honestly I would like to punch the next rapper who says that they are not a rapper in the mouth! That goes for rappers like Young Jeezy and Shorty Lo as well. If you're not a rapper why don't you go sit your @$$ down somewhere so us rappers can get deals. People used to be proud to be and MC now its cool to rap and not be a rapper. WTF is that!?
My 3rd and lord willing final beef with Mr. Roth is this whole "I Love College" frat boy thing he's trying to sell himself on. The frat boy thing is about as un-hip-hop as it gets yet when I hear this dude in interviews he's tryin' to come off so hip-hop. Its not even that I don't think that he is hip-hop I just hate the pandering of hip-hop to suburban kids to turn a buck. This applies to overly niggerish (excuse me) songs by black artists as well. I'm not sayin' that dude is fake. If he's about all that frat boy sh*t that's cool. I'm just not gonna throw my 12 bucks down to relive everything that annoyed me in college packaged on a compack disc. Okay I'm done I really do wanna hear what you guys think about this dude. If I'm just being salty feel free to tell me.
Shouts out to the white rappers I know and love. Clokwise, Smokey Smelko, Agile, Ill Poetic, Invincible, Mike G, White Spyder, Joe N., and anybody else that's slippin' my mind right now I'm hungry and need to eat.

I'M GONNA GET RIGHT TO THE POINT AND I"M GONNA BE ONE OF THOSE ANNOYING PEOPLE WHO TYPE IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE I"M THAT EXCITED!!!! WHY YOU ASK!? WELL BECAUSE MY FACE IS GRACING THE HOMEPAGE OF OKAYPLAYER.COM TODAY!!!!!
Ok, let me breathe...El Keter gave mine and Terry Cole's album an AMAZING review in the Blogarhythms section of okay player today!!! The review is great...this guy REALLY got the album. I was humbled by all the great things he had to say about me, Terry, and the album. The craziest part of it all for me is to be on the front page and for the caption to say "Respiration eas cool, but RideOut and Terry Cole want to KEEP the city breathing". Respiraton by Black Star feat. Common is and will forever be my favorite hip hop song and I got mentioned in the likes of that song on okayplayer, which is like their home! That's a big deal to me on a very personal not. I mean I have a tat that was inspired by that song. He even mentioned me in the same vein as artists like Lupe, k-os, and Blu. Not bad company at all!!!! You can read the full review HERE

Those of you who have been reading the blog for a while know I used to post tracks for download all the time. Will I'm introducing a new way for me to disseminate my music and the music that I enjoy. I've finally found the time to get my blog site www.fatkidfresh.com up and running the way that I want it. Starting today I will be putting out 2 free Fat Kid Fresh mixtapes or "BlogTapes" a month that will feature all kinds of music, not just rap, not just underground, and not just commercial. The plan is to release a BlogTape on the 1st and 15th of every month. Since we're already well into the month I'll be releasing on today and another tomorrow. So with no further ado...

*I never got around to posting on here, but me and Terry' Cole's songs were in two contests about a month and a half ago and we won them both. One being best Alternative Hip-Hop Song of the month on ourstage.com and the other being best new song of the week on hoodhype.com. We ended up getting interviewed live via telephone on episode 65 of HoodHype. I posted the complete audio to our first appearance and the interview over at my blog site http://www.fatkidfresh.comso if you're interested in hearing that its over there. We won the contest on HoodHype with our song "Ways To Lose Detroit" and on episode 67 they played our song "Giving Love". So we're once again in the hoodhype contest so if you have time please go tohttp://www.hoodhype.com/artist_vote.aspx?en=67and give us 5 stars so we can win this contest again.
*We'll be shooting a music video for "Giving Love" next week, but in the mean time you can see the test video that me and my man E shot for my mixtape track "PlayHerNot"
I also have a new song posted on my myspace page called "Get The Money" check it out!!!b Its also on the BlogTape!
Now for the THE BIGGGGGG NEWS....
RideOut and Terry Cole have signed a licensing deal with Japanese record company P-Vine Records and our album "The City" will distributed in Japan this coming September!!! Koneechiwa bitches!!!
Shouts and thanks to: SoundScape, E, Antonio, Tanesha, Doc K, Glenn Danielson, and everyone who has bought the CD so far!
While I'm givin' out all this free stuff...
*If you're a fan of Potishead or even if you're not download Natalia Lanni's "Beyond The Window: The Portishead Project". Its an EP of Portishead covers produced by my man E and some remixes done by Digital Ghost. Its an amazing piece of work.
I got a big blog coming @ you later today, but since I'm up and just watched a video that's pure comedy I thought I'd hit yall with it. I heard a few days ago that Terrance from 106 and Park was crackin' on Rocsi during the show and Rocsi caught feelings and walked off the set. I just found the clip and I must say its a classic BET moment. Just watch the tension build...
LMAO! All I have to say is this would never have happened with AJ and Free!
Boo This Man!: Messy Jesse
Current mood: hungry
Category: Music
Ya know just when I didn't really think I could think any less of "Rev." Jessie Jackson he goes and gets his d--k caught in his zipper while making an appearance on FOX news. Now I don't know the full context behind why Jesse Jackson was on, what show he was on, or what he was talking about, but I do know they PLAYED him. Messy Jesse as Nas has called him thought his mic was off during a commercial break, but turns out his mic was on AND the cameras were still rolling. Why everything was still recording during commercial break is beyond me but since they were they caught Jessie saying amongst other things that he'd like to "cut his (Barack Obama's) nuts off". Wow...not a good look Jessie. Hell see it for yourself...
To me this is much bigger than Jessie talking sh*t about Barack. I mean if Jesse wants to cut Barack's nuts off that's his business, my thing is why is Jesse Jackson always on FOX News!? If you haven't got the picture yet they hate your black @$$!!! They invited you on TV to talk about Barack and then they put you on blast by showing you making statements that techincally should have been off the record. Now you look like a bigger @$$hole and hypocrit than you did before and I didn't really know that was possible. There's more I could say about it, but I really think Nas sums it up well in this video...
I also find it very fitting that this scandal broke the same day that Nas dropped his new video for the song "Sly Fox". "Sly Fox" is taking it to FOX News. The was directed by Rik "I Shoot The Videos Your Lable Won't" Cordero. Peep...
That's all for this post. Boo Jesse Jackson. F_ck FOX News, Cop Nas's new album on July 15th. New Killer Mike album in stores now.

Lil' Wayne sold 1,005,545 album in his first week...you can't tell this dude nothing now. I'm not even gonna hate on his achievement cause it is that, an achievement. They still say you can't sell records and even with a DJ perpously leaking his album on the internet the dude still sold over a million in 7 days which hasn't been done in 3 years (though Kanye almost did it with Graduation).
The Carter 3 = Hard Knock Life Vol. 2
Now while I can't hate on his sales I can point out that I think this dude road the short bus to school. Peep the thank you vid.
Auto-tuning You Out
Current mood: annoyed
Category: Music
If you've been listening to the radio as of late ofrfrequent any of numerous popular hip-hop blog sites then you should be well aware of a painful epidemic that is currently plauging hip-hop...this epidemic that I'm talking about is auto-tune aka that sh*t that T-Pain uses to make his voice sound like that. It was "cute" when it was just T-Pain using it, I mean I admit that it annoyed the sh*t out of me when T-Pain was making songs like "I'm In Love With A Stripper", but by the time "Buy You A Drink" came out I was like "Okay this guy is kinda entertaining and this is HIS thing". Not anymore now its becoming EVERYONE'S thing. That I can think of I've recently heard...
*Chris Brown *Ray-J *CNN (Capone N Noreage) *DPG (Daz and Kurupt) *Kanye West *Lil' Wayne *LL Cool J *Lil' Kim *Snoop Dogg *Lil' Bow Wow *R. Kelly *Just Blaze (hook on a Siagon song)
I'm sure there's more, but I'm drawing a blank right now and those were the ones that came to mind. We all know that the keys to getting a song on the radio for the past year have been to have either T-Pain or Lil' Wayne on your song. But the key ingrediant is to HAVE T-Pain on your song not to SOUND like T-Pain, cause guess what guys and girls? YOU DON"T SOUND LIKE T-PAIN!!! I heard a lot of auto-tune tracks lately and 98% of them sound like @$$. You may ask yourself how can you sound bad with auto-tune? Doesn't it automatically tune? Well the key to auto-tune is to have some, even be it small, SOME ability to sing. If you're tone deaf its not gonna work. Not to mention you're just JOCKING T-Pain.
There have been a few people that have used it that have actually sounded dope. Kanye used it on Wayne's "Lollipop" remix and Young Jeezy's new song "I Put On" and sounded pretty good. Snoop used it on "Sexual Seduction" and in my personal opinion may have done it better than Theodor Pain. But that's pretty much where the buck stops. I MIGHT have thrown Wayne in the mix for his use of it on Lollipop, but he disqualified himself by abusing it on numerous other tracks.
In closing I would just like to urge you all to vote no on propsition 08 and put an end to all this atuo-tune bullsh*t. Use it tastefully or don't use it at all.

Welcome Back Busta!
Current mood: awake
Category: Music
There's all kinds of Tom-f*ckery going on in the world right now...Barack Obama gives his wife a pound and Fox News calls it "a terrorist fist bump", Chester The Molester aka Robert Kelly beats 14 counts of child pornography and what not (I guess Dave Chappelle was right, that piss was digital), and the list goes on. But ass I came home from work after an annoying night as usual I ran into this new Busta Rhymes video that made my night! This video made me feel like I was 12 again. This is the Busta Rhymes I know and love, if only he could grow the dreads back. Enjoy this while I decide if I even wanna waste my key strokes writing another blog about nasty @$$ R. Kelly.
PS. Meet The Spartans and Super Hero Movie are TERRIBLE movies. What ever happed to well done spoofs? Be Kind Rewind with Mos Def and Jack Black sucked to.
