We're Back!!!
After 20 Days in Cuba, 13 days being followed by immigration agents, multiple times stopped by police, military interogations and countless times being told that we could never pull this off, we are finally back in the United States. Our trip was going to be for 30 days, but we had to cut it short due to the amout of 'heat' we had on us. We do not exagerate when we tell you that the pressure we felt from the government just for being there with cameras was intense. Doesn't that tell you they have something to hide?
Well, let us just say it feels good to be back. We had a difficult journey, harder than we expected, yet we feel the experience itself was well worth it. As for our film, we gathered a lot of great footage as well as thousands of photos. We plan to make almost all of it available for the world to see. For the safety of the Cuban people that we spent time with, we cannot show film with their faces for fear of their imprisonment. The human rights issues in Cuba are a serious problem and they must be addressed. We cannot back off of this, their government controls their very lives, from owning all the homes and cars to rashoning ridiculous amounts of food that no human can live off of. They live their lives in FEAR, fear of becoming too rich looking, fear of being caught for using a cell phone, fear of getting caught watching satellite tv (they only have five local chanels, all propaganda), fear of talking to the "wrong person" since they have informants on every corner. So, if you decide you would like to make a little extra for your family, the only way is to go against the government, even though you will be severely punished with no questions asked, no lawyers, no trial. They do what they want and the "law" changes from day to day.
The word needs to spread, Cuba is in need of help more than ever. It's time for change and the people know it and feel it. Cuba will not last another 47 years. Cuba is no longer the paradise some may remember. I'm sorry to say those who think it is, you did not make this journey with us, but you will soon learn when you see our film. We have posted some new pics, hope you enjoy them and we will keep you updated on our next steps... Risky and 3vol

We Feel Much Safer...
Well, after our 1200 km jorneey around the country, we have made it to a safer place. We were followed back by the agents for almost 150 km before we actually lost them. But, we cannot begin to explain how it felt to be followed and harrased like we were. They actually BUGGED OUR ROOM!!! When we got back to the room the other day at a house we stayed at, our host shut the door and informed us that agents had been there, looked through our bags and placed bugs in our rooms to hear our conversations!!! Luckily she warned us, so we were extremely careful! But, the feeling of helplessness and lack of any kind of rights is un describable feeling that we wish on no one! Much Love... Risky & 3vol

Things are getting bad...
Misery is starting to set in for us. We have been followed by the authorities since we left Havana. We were detained for taking pictures of non'tourists areas and for speaking to locals. And of course, we are going to continue to do what we came here for. The police came to one of the houses we were staying in and spoke to the lady of the house, asking her what she thought our intentions here were. They said they would be back to check on us, meaning they were going to look through our things while we were gone. At times we feel that this is getting harder to enjoy our time here, 3vol was very sick for a few days, fever, vomiting and a very sore throat, and the lack of juices and soup made it very hard for him, but we have medicine and he is getting better. At this point we really are not afraid anymore, we are continuing on and we will not be imtimidated. But keep us in your prayers, we need them now more than ever... Much Love, Risky & 3vol Here are some pictures... Enjoy

Hello from the East side!
So it's been a few days since we could find any internet. The things we have seen along the way have been incredible and amazing. The way people live doesn't seem to suprise us anymore. The father East we travel, the more and more struggle we witness. We are now in a larger city. It is very alive and beautiful. But the towns we pass along the way are so poor and ignorant to the city life, it's as if they still live in the 1800's. We have seen many people without shoes or running water. Propaganda rules the country side and they don't seem to know that anything else even exists. They look at us as if we were aliens, they don't know what to make of us. But, they are still very happy people. We are now heading towards another larger city and we hope to write from there... Much Love! Risky & 3vol

Reality has struck...
So, outside of Havana, reality hits... The moment we stepped foot outside of the tourist spots, no phones, no internet, and no food, Ham and cheese (not me of course) is all we can find. Although breathtakingly beautiful, the country is as poor as you can imagine. We headed West for a couple of days, where we went to a secluded beach called 'Maria La Gorda'. There we saw some of the most amazing beaches we have ever seen, but you are lucky to find a bottle of water and our stomachs can tell if we don't drink bottled water if you know what we mean... The next few weeks are going to be a challenge as we head East. Our Guide assures us we will be fine, but we have our doubts. We were stopped twice, slightly harrassed and asked for our passports heading West and we expect more of that throughout our journey. We hope to be able to write soon and send more pictures as soon as we can find a computer with access to a CD. Stay with us!!! Love ya'll Risky & 3vol

What a Day!!
What a day!! Our tour guide turned out to be the man, he's a true hustler, he knows the ins and outs of everything! He knows what time it is and we feel very confident and much more comfortable that this trip is going to turn out GREAT. Last night we met a few local girls and they took us back to their place and we danced Reggeaton and ate fried shrimp and drank rum. Today, we explored Old Havana for 8 hours! AMAZING! We saw everything from the capital building and main train station to the Malecon and where Jose Marti was born. But the best part was all the people we interacted with. Toway was a tremendous success. Love ya'll for the support!!!! Risky & 3vol

WE MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, after 6 HOURS of interigation, we made it. Customs officials were harrassing us for 6 hours. We did not go to jail or anything, but they literally made us wait for 6 hours after they found all our equipment and notes we had. I wish I could say I was as strong as 3vol, but I was talking a shit! But, we kept to our story and never drifted. They has to let us into the country. We our now in an AMAZING hotel in La Habana Vieja, called Hotel San Miguel, check it out online guys. We got here just in time for the most beautiful Sunset we've ever seen. I hope we can post the pictures online tonight. 3vol is already making friends as expected and as for me, I'm still cleaning the shit out of my pants. The drive from the airport to the hotel was such an unbelieveable exprience, we cannot describe it in words. But, this is 1 of 30 days to go. We will be in touch. And please keep us in your minds and in your hearts. Risky & 3vol
