COFFEE HOUSE or PUB???

So the main difference i have found between playing in the UK and playing in the states is that the local "watering holes" serve different water. I just wonder if that has an effect on the audience. In the UK, i would usually play at pubs. It was a great time to try out new tunes, play my version of all time greats, and introduce people to my music. Pubs seemed to be the place for this type of contact to take place.
Here in America, I can't play a bar unless I am a full on Rock band (Which I can do. by the way) or I am a country and western band (Which I can also do). if it is just me and my guitar, then i found that coffee house are the place to be. I am about to look into some new venues to mix it up.
I do wonder if the types of liquid consumed has to do with the way the crowd interacts. Anyway, I am gearing up for a bit of a European tour. I am booked through December, but am looking at booking for the fall and on. If you are local, come see me at a coffee shop near you!! Thanks for reading,

CD Baby & Garageband now selling "Stark Raving Calm"

These things take time. I have been very excited to get my new cd on the internet in as many places as I can for people to purchase. We all have our favorite way to shop, so I want to make it as easy as possible for you to do so. CDbaby has posted their web page for SRC and is working on getting it uploaded to my MySpace Store and iTunes (I love CDbaby). You can also purchase it on Garageband if you would like. Garage band is a place where anyone who loves music can sign up to review anyone who loves to make music. Monkey Cymbals did really well there a few years ago.

MyMusic on MySpace

In my effort to make it even easier to get my music to the masses, I have added a store on my MySpace (you know where it is because you had to go there to get here) where you can buy MP3's!!! But that is just the beginning. It will take a while for iTunes to post my music, so within a week or two my MySpace will have the new record available for download (that is up to cdbabay). You can also email to store to your friends or post it on your MySpace (like Dana did). The best way to get it until then is to use paypal and I will send it to you (trust me, the artwork is well worth it). I have been shipping the same day I get the orders. Levons L'ancre

I have had a good amount of people ask what the chorus of this song means. I was very intentional in the change from the 3/4 time in the verse to the 4/4 time in the chorus to add to the language change.
The lyrics come from a french phrase that Dana uses (Levons L'ancre means "Lift The Anchors") for "let's get out of here".
She would always speak french to the kids and I when she wanted to talk about a uncomfortable situation we were in. So I picked two uncomfortable situations to write about and the chorus is the dialogue of "wanting to get out".

The exact translation is as follows:

IN THE MIX

My new CD is almost ready. I am very excited about it. I posted two new songs today (it might take a few hours for them to work). I am 9 songs through the mix process. My Cd is in good hands with Vance Powell. It then moves on to the Mastering process and then the printing process. Once the mix is finished, I hope to have it all turned around in three weeks. I am anticipating a before Christmas release. I have also placed a paypal button on myspace for your pre ordering pleasures.
