EXCERPT FROM CANDY MAN

HERE'S AN EXCERPT FROM CANDY MAN FOR VALETINE'S DAY.

Throwing her arms up in the air, she started pacing. "Just great. Oh, this is just great. Stood up on Valentine's day."

She stomped over to him and snatched the vase out of his hands. Scott didn't know whether he should duck for cover or run. Glaring at him, Annie circled around and stormed out of the living room toward the kitchen.

Several moments later her heard a loud thud.

The candy box still stuffed under his arm, he waited. For what, he wasn't sure.

She stomped back over to him, this time grabbing the box of candy from under his arm.

Scott Barnes', coworker Dean, railroads him into delivering candy and flowers to his girlfriend, Annie Chandler because Dean has another date for the night. Not liking his mission of having to deal with a scorned woman, Scott drives to her house. His plan is to get in and out as fast as he can. When Annie opens the door wearing sexy, black lingerie and a silky robe, Scott nearly drops the candy and flowers. After he tells her Dean's bogus story about something coming up at the office, Annie grabs the vase of roses from his hands. He's ready to duck for cover, but instead she storms out of the room, only to return and snatch the box of chocolate from him, too. At warp speed, she rips open the box and starts stuffing chocolate candy past her luscious, kissable lips. Scott's plan now is to get to know the woman with those kissable lips and obsession for chocolate. And will he be given the sultry pleasure of tasting those delicious lips?

NEW REVIEW FOR KARLY'S DRIFTER

I just received a new review for KARLY'S DRIFTER.

4 Roses from My Book Cravings; Reviewed by Char.

Karly has been following the rodeo circuit, taking pictures of cowboys for a coffee table book she plans to publish. She has been pursued, propositoned and chased by about every cowboy on the circuit. One night she focuses her camera and sees him, and her whole life changes.

Hawk rides bare back broncs, drifting from town to town, hiding from the pain of his past. He wants nothing to do with the fiery photographer even though everything about her stirs his soul. He knows he no good for her, so he does everything he can to push her away.

Unable to stay away from each other, they decide to have a summer rodeo fling, but both know from the beginning that the other is dangerous to their heart. When the truth is told about Hawk's past, will they decide he needs to move on or are his drifting days over?

This was a wonderful short story I read in just one read. Ms. Burnett nailed the on again, off again rodeo circuit romance and the emotions she portrayed between Karly and Hawk were rich and full. If I had any complaint it was that story wasn't long enough. I wanted it to go on longer.  Kudos, Ms. Burnett!!!
