I'm not sure how to read into this, but opening my mini fridge and finding a liter of Mountain Dew Code Red may be the happiest part of my day. For now anyway. I mean, once I see the lady, that will be the happiest part of my day. Anyway. I had to work today. Once in the morning for two hours, and then again tonight for six hours. Tonight should have only been two hours, but so much for things turning out like they're supposed to. I should know better by now. To fill in all the gaps of the day I've been thinking about all the wonderful things I get to yell about tomorrow. Things like, why don't we have drinking water in the shop when I was yelling about it three weeks ago? All this got me thinking about what kind of effort I want to be putting into things like this anymore. Its funny how random thoughts will suddenly drift into your mind and how, often time, those random thoughts seem so fitting for the moment. As I pulled up to my house I remembered the definition of "insanity". Not many days go by when I don't think about the times I went to meetings and how they often talked about insanity. Doing the same thing over and over again, each time expecting a different result. My life has pretty much become insanity. Only now does it become clear why I feel the way I feel.

Though passion, I gain strength.

I have, through progress and failure, attempted to find some kind of peace and balance. I have worked hard to be at peace in this world of mine only to be let down and taken advantage of. These words are not true for all parts of my life, do not get them confused with the things that bring me joy. I am talking about the things that attack the soul of a man. The things I must deal with day after day. The things that test power. Things happen for a reason; this I believe. To approach this with patience and care is a view I seem to have lost faith in. As I have said, I have worked hard and I have done what is right only to have been left with this feeling of being lost and taken advantage of. And then it was found. The anger grew to beyond a point of control and action was taken. A slight victory, but at leaste it was something.

I’m a bit down at the moment. While I was at work today I got a call from my brother, he said that one of our kitties wasn’t doing so well. I say kitty, but she has been with the family since I was a kid. By the time I reached the hospital she had passed. Her kidneys had failed and she just couldn’t hang on any longer. She was such a great kitty. Such a great kitty. Thats it.

Not that I really have time to write this since today is already majorly fucked, but I did want to say that I can't help but to laugh at the fact that after such a great weekend away from work and everything related, I come back to every possible bullshit situation that can happen here. Ok. I just got home from my first band practice in a couple months. It felt good to get back to the thing I love to do. We learned two new songs written by Daniel. We may try to put them in our set we play in Vegas. Oh yeah, in case you didn't know, The Upshots are playing at the Double Down Saloon in Vegas on February 29th.
