From the online diary of Roger Sanchez...

Here's what Roger Sanchez had to say in his online diary about his night at Room 960. Thanks to boramusic.com, the Room 960 staff, all the DJs and of course all of you for making the scene what it is becoming in downtown Hartford - people are noticing! You can read Roger's online diary at www.rogersanchez.com .

"February 23rd 2007 Room 960 Hartford, Ct

We make our way to Harford Connecticut which everyone always says what's Hartford? Well let me tell you this has to be the eascoasts best kept secret in the house music scene. This city has such a great vibe it's insane. You definatly have to give respect to Bora and his crew who have created this scene and continue to make it a great place for visiting djs. During the summer we did an outdoor event in Hartford that drew an amazing crowd, This time we are at Room 960. This is an upscale sexy club in downtown Hartford.
Tonight the crowd is pumped. Roger gets on the set and the crowd is cheering. Roger goes right into it with "Feel For You" Axwell remix. The crowd is dancing there ass off. The club is a nice lounge style club with a mezzanine overlooking the dancefloor and the dancefloor is nice and intimate for the dj to get down. Also they have dancers on the side on platforms adding a nice sexy vibe. This night Roger just played a high energized set that had the crowd bouncing all night. It was closing time before you knew it and the clubbers wanted more. Roger gave them one more & it was a night to remember for Hartford. Great times as always in Hartford. "

Glad you had a good time Roger - - we look forward to the next time!

Room 960 at WMC 2007

Yet another Winter Music Conference draws to a close....

This year Room 960 headed down to South Beach with a few employees and a lot of friends - what better way to enjoy the best music on the planet? So many parties and DJs and not enough sleep. Here's a rundown...

Tuesday - Landed at about noon and headed down to Lincoln Rd for lunch and a few drinks. Relaxed a little before heading over to Suite (one of my favorite clubs) for the Sharam "Party All The Time" party. Sharam of Deep Dish was headlining along with Cedric Gervais and Sultan. Gervais (who is destined for stardom) threw down an unbelievable set and Sharam drove the place crazy till about closing at 5am. Everyone had a great time and Roger Sanchez, who was also at the party, even hung out at our table for a little while.

Wednesday - Headed over to the Clevelander for the Fortune Elevation party featuring Donald Glaude and LAs Vegas favorites Scotty Boy and Joey Mazzola. The Clevelander despite its grimyness, is ALWAYS a good time and an outdoor fixture of Ocean Drive. We stayed there all day drinking and eating while enjoying the Miami sun and sick house beats courtesy of Sin City. After the Clevelander, we headed back to the apartment, cleaned up and went over to Mansion for Roger Sanchez's "Release Yourself" party. Roger blew the roof off in typical S-Man all nighter fashion. At the bar, we chatted with Peter Bailey, Richie Santana and Boris who were taking in Roger's set before heading over to Space to catch Eric Morillo after. We headed over to Twilo -- one of downtown Miami's new afterhours-- for Steve Lawler's Lights Out party and Steve did not disappoint! A blistering set of electro delivered through a Phazon sound system to a jam packed venue is all we needed to wind up a perfect night of clubbing.

Thursday - Woke up at noon and had a tough decision to make - Tenaglia and Calderone at The Shelbourne? Or Robbie Rivera's Juicy Party at Nikki Beach? Since we were going to see Calderone in all his darkness at Twilo Friday night, we opted for the all day/all night Juicy Party. The lineup was one of the best of the WMC - Robbie Rivera, Gabriel & Dresden, Benny Benassi, Judge Jules, Axwell, Mark Knight, Chus & Ceballos, Tom Stephan, Antoine Clamaran, Donald Glaude, Harry Romero, Bob Sinclair and a few more. We got a table outside on the beach, the weather was perfect and the vibe from the 2000 or so in attendance was off the hook. Sets the stood out to me were Mark Knight, Axwell and the best of the day in my opinion - Robbie Rivera. Night began to creep in on us so it was time to leave and get ready for the Bullitt Bookings invite only party at Miami's newest and hottest club - Set. We arrived at Set at about midnight. This was going to be a sick industry party with the Bullitt Bookings roster -- Deep Dish, Sultan, Paolo Mojo, Miss Nine, Cedric Gervais, Nic Fanciulli, Danny Howells, Dean Coleman, etc. The problem was by the time we showed up, the venue was at capacity. This is one of the downfalls of the WMC. There are so many house music lovers and so many good parties, that many of the clubs reach capacity early and shut down their door. It didn't matter that Room 960 was guest listed or even that we had tickets in hand. No one else was getting in. Oh well. We headed down the street to Love Hate - a bar opened by the guys from the TV show Miami Ink - and drowned our sorrows in shots.

Friday - Woke up early and went out to the pool. after a few hours of relaxing, went over to Pete Tong's Radio One pool party at the Shelbourne. Another ridiculous line up at this one - Richie Hawtin, Erick Morillo, Pete Tong, DJ Dan, Cedric Gervais, Frankie Knuckles, James Zabiela, Nic Fanciulli, David guetta, Sharam and more. This party is broadcast live all day on Pete Tong's Radio One show on the BBC in the UK. Another awesome day of non stop music. We headed back to the apartment and then headed out to Ink - another new club in Miami - to catch the Swedish House Mafia better known as Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso. This space is comparable in size to Room 960, so the place was jam packed and the vibe was through the roof! The three swedes took turns on the decks each playing about three songs. It was incredible and the crowd was so into it. When Ink closed at about 5am, we headed over to Twilo for the Richie Santana, DJ Vibe, Victor Calderone show. When we got there, Calderone was on and the place was on fire. The lights and sound in this venue are second to none, and Victor absolutely destroyed the place with his signature tribal style infused with a techie twist. HOT!

Saturday - Spent much of the day catching up on sleep and then headed down to Lincoln Rd. for dinner. After dinner went right over to Space for the Yoshitoshi party with Deep Dish (as Bora mentioned, we are becoming Deep Dish groupies). Got there at about midnight and thank God we did. The massive club was already approaching capacity and was only allowing guestlisted patrons in. We entered the club to the sounds of Paolo Mojo in the main room which soon gave way to Dubfire and Sharam. They played an unbelievable set of dark tech house that got the party going. As things began to get going, the outdoor terrace opened and Miss Nine got us started outside. Night gave way to morning so we left the club for the terrace where Dean Coleman and Sultan were setting up things nicely for Nic Fanciulli and Sharam. By now, it was morning and if you've never experience the Space terrace in the morning, as a house lover its something you must do in your lifetime! The vibe is incredible and the music is even better.... alll under the Miami morning sun. Locals wake up early and head down to Space at Dawn for this party.

Sunday- Went to Skybar to see Felix da Housecat who played a great diverse set of house and rock. Tiesto ended up dancing next to our table with his girlfriend! Left skybar and went over to Shine for Sander Kleinenberg's "This Is" party which was awesome. Banging house music and a full house. What a set by Sander. Sander was set up nicely by Rene Amez. No afterhours tonight.... too tired!

Monday - Relax. Beaches and restaurants.

Tuesday - Back to Hartford.

Best Club - Twilo
Best Party - Juicy at Nikki Beach
Best Set - Victor Calderone at Twilo/ Robbie Rivera at Nikki Beach/ Sander K at Shine
Best Lineup - Space. As always
Strangest Site - Kered on the terrace at Space in a scuba mask

Once again, the WMC was all we expected it to be. If you haven't been, stop putting it off and go! You'll love it...
