The future of Internet radio is in immediate danger. The Copyright Royalty Board in Washington, DC has more than tripled the royalty rates for webcasters and left unchanged they will kill Internet radio. These exorbitant rates go into effect on May 15 (retroactive to Jan 1, 2006!). Without Congressional action the majority of webcasters will go bankrupt and silent on this date. We need your help. Please take a moment to send a letter to your member of Congress to keep Net radio from being silenced.

6:12 AM - Gov't To Kill Internet Radio

Ladies, Drunk Rocker Chicks and Gentlemen. The Federal Government is set to narrow your selection of radio down to a handful of stations, most likely owned by large conglomerate media companies.
How are they doing it? The Copyright Royalty Board has approved new royalty rates on internet radio for SoundExchange, the company which represents record labels and collects royalty fees. These rates equal over 100% of the income of most internet radio stations despite a decade of 1-2% rates and will effectively destroy the world of itnernet radio which is now in it's 10th year.
This will not just hurt internet radio, but also artist and labels which have used it was an effective medium for getting their music heard.

For those of you who are our loyal listeners you know damn good and well that our station has been down since Wednesday (explanation is in our blog). Well after days of data recovery efforts and countless hours of being awake with the help of Red Bull, Bawls and other energy drinks we have finally gotten our stream back online.
The website will be offline for another day or so as we finish up the repairs on it. When the site comes back online you will be able to request music again, until then that feature has been disabled.

Our host, www.sharpnet.net, sufered a massive Hard Disk Failure on Christmas Day. This failure rendered our website inaccessable and knocked our station offline.
While repairs are underway it is our understanding that due to the severity of the failure it could take days or even a week to repair all the damage.
I deeply apologize for our downtime and assure our listeners and artist that we will be online again soon.

Last month saw RadioRevolt.com hit a new milestone.
After all the dust settled and the numbers were counted our station saw 61,280 listeners in November. Our listeners tuned in for an average of 1.5 hours per day while listening for a total of 97,293 hours.
