back with Livewire
Current mood: anxious

on July 18 I flew to CA for 10 days of action packed...

...module building

On July 27 - Livewire Electronics delivered 100+ AFG's (VCO with a wallet that says this on it)

As of today I currently have another 60, along with 90+ Frequensteiners waiting for assembly.

I guess this means I'm building for Livewire again : )

seriously...
I'm stepping into the production process. I'll be running Livewire from the rust belt until Mike returns.

"resurrection on a rust belt"
Current mood: busy
Category: Music

new track

ambient...
ebow...
ARP odyssey...
Ableton Live...

the idea was to make each of the instruments sound like something it wasn't

the ebow'd guitar sounds like a synth
the ARP odyssey is all of the drum/rhythm

not ready for bulletins....
Current mood: relaxed

so I'll blog instead.

I'm in the new place.
Just got back from vacation.
started working on "stuff"
can't call it "new stuff"
can't call it "good stuff"

it's been over 3 months since the last time I had everything within reach and switched on, which makes this is a whole new process for me all over again.

the odyssey and the modular's getting used a lot
most of my drums have been coming from my bent SR16 and samples recorded in in the basement (pics below).

I made an entire kit out of empty boxes left over from unpacking.
A little distortion and proximity effect from a D112 can do some really cool things.
(note: nothing was detuned or radically eq'd)

Once I get over being fascinated with "sounds" I hope tracks will actually follow.

last days...
Current mood: calm
Category: Dreams and the Supernatural

18 years after rolling into town, with a band riding in a modified international harvester school bus...

...I'm rolling out and headed for the midwest

long story short: "yes - I'm out of mind, but that happened long before this decision, yes - it's worth it, yes - I'm sure"

there's plenty that I'll miss and very little that I won't miss (that's supposed to sound like a good thing)

just remember:

drums....
Current mood: blank
Category: Music

(from rtopia.net)

yeah - I'm back.
been doing a lot at the day job.

now that I'm relocating - I'm doing the "packing/trashing/finish what needs finishing" drill.

I just completed a series of faceplates for my Ken Stone drum module kits:

(pretty maids in a row)

(cynare deluxe - the lower 6 knobs are "shimmer controls)

(close up to show texturing on the metal - 220 grade sandpaper and an orbital sander)

(cynare standard - no shimmer controls)

(drum sim 1 - 2 808 style twin t circuits)

(drum sim 2 - same as the other one except this one goes a lot lower)

this is the patch bay for the tin man modular:

(step 1)

(close up to show the texturing on the metal - same as cynare face)

(installed)
