Costa Rica 2008
Category: Travel and Places

My passport was so happy to see that it was being dusted off and visiting yet another great country.  First, you fly into San Jose, which is a city that you don't want to stay for very long.

Day 2: We took a taxi to a bus to another bus to a boat, which took 7 hours to get to Tortuguerro.  A little village that has no cars!

T-Bird Swimming
Current mood: calm
Category: Pets and Animals

T-Bird cannot get enough of the water!   This was the start of the evening.  If we didn't throw the ball in,

she jumped in and did laps.  She was in the pool for 7 hours straight.  6pm to 1am.

Eastern Europe Continued

Germany continued.  They have lots of museums here instead of churches.  Here is a math museum with the famous math formula.

This is the small yet important city of Potsdam. Here the Cecilienhof Castle is where Stalin, Churchill and Truman met

after the war to discuss rebuilding.

Stalin was to set everything up so he planted the Russia symbol in the courtyard.

Look, it looks like they returned to do unfinished business with their wives.

Next is the Czech Republic where we visit the city of Prague.  The people here hold the record for the biggest beer drinkers.

They are also 85% athiests.

Check it out, they have changing of the guard as well.  Man those guys are cute!

I've seen a lot of churches, but how can I describe this one?  Well decorated?

The priest is pointing to the thief!

And back to Austria to the city of Vienna.

We rode on the famous Prada Wheel that can be found in many movies.

Our farewell dinner was awesome.  The Marchfelderhof Restaurant rolled out the red carpet and greeted us like royalty!

I met some great people on the trip.  My wonderful roomate Tomoko, Roman and Marlene, Mike and Laura.

Lastly, one of us asked for sugar.  This is what they brought us.  WOW!

This is definitely my favorite part of the trip.

Eastern Europe
Category: Travel and Places

Talk about walking into History!  It was a big circle hitting all the major cities in Eastern Europe.

Vienna Austria, Budapest Hungry, Krakow Poland, Berlin Germany, Prague Czech Replublic and back to Austria.

Vienna is full of great music!  Perhaps because that is where Mozart and Bach are found.

The first day we visited the Schonbrunn Palace which was home to the Emperor.

That night we dined in the Vienna Woods at Weingut Heuriger Reinprecht.  We got serenaded by the locals.  I loved the accordian player!

Hungary has archetectual spendors placed just so, so they will not take away from the beauty of the Danube river.  Nature and man working close together.

First we have parliament which we saw from our hotel room on the Pest side of the river.  The statue is Lady Liberty which was established 2 years before

they were no longer free.  It was a joke to look at during the cold war.  The 3rd picture is of Hugarian buildings.

Then we have a nice bridge between the Buda and Pest side of Hungary.

Queen Victoria had 12 daughters.  The king didn't believe in battle, but marriage.  He would take over lands by marrying off his daughters.  Next to it is the

Heroes Square where they celebrate all the men in the wars.

Fisherman's Bashion gives you great views of the Danube and Parliament buildings.

Now we go to Parliament to get a closer look.  I like how they value and respect the common job.  Here they have statues of common jobs instead of politicions.

They even show this in their parades!

Hungarians LOVE their paprika!  We had the most awesome Goulash!  Then in town I had fun taking pictures of myself.

Then we are off to Poland.  Talk about walking into a fairytale land!  Look how cute!

     this is called scraffiti.

Poland was my favorite.  They have stories of slaying the dragon.  Here is a dragon bone!  And from our hotel room, isn't this the most perfect scenery!

Now we go to the not so nice part of Poland.  The biggest concentration camp of the war.  Auschwitz.

Talk about getting a chill down your spine walking down these walkways. The 3rd picture is called the bloody road.

This is where they killed people like animals.  Then we get to walk into the gas chamber where the people thought they were going to take a shower.  Check out the chimney at the top.

Here is Auschwitz 2 for over capacity.  The dreaded train tracks that led them here instead of a better life like promised.  Once off the train they were sorted.  The able bodied got a few more days to live in horse barns and work.

Now we go to Berlin.  To the place where all this mess started.

We got to see parts of the Berlin Wall.  As you can see on the ground, they outlined in cobblestone where the wall use to be.

Checkpoint Charle was the only way in and out of the city.  Now there is a museum here that shows all the

different ways people tried to escape the city.

Pismo Beach 2006

We rented a camper from Luv2camp.com for our Pismo Beach trip.  It made the experience soooo much better.  So, here's the beach and our camper is on the right.

Here's me on my quad for the first time!  In my pink outfit.  I love the pink flames that I bought on ebay, but now I think I want to paint it pink.

Brendon had a blast digging holes with the kids!

And of course, what's camping without the smores.  As you can see, the smores were gone before I got out the camera!

We all had a really nice and relaxing time.  The fireworks were awesome.  I hope we go again next year.

Australia
Current mood: awake
Category: Travel and Places

Australia was Awesome

I got up my pictures!

!.  Sydney was nice, but there isn't a lot to do there but look at the

Opera House and shop.

While in Sydney we met up with the new friend we met in Ireland.

Alison really made our stay in Sydney awesome.

She took us to see the Blue mountains.  They don't look very blue to me!

These three rocks are called the 3 sisters.  Here, they have a railway.

The seats are a V shape.  I was praying to God halfway down,

then I decided to take a picture of the people behind us.

the last picture is the ride going back up the mountain.

Then you take the cable way back where we met a new friend Reg.

We did a bit of hiking and here we are coming out of the bush.

 2.  Cairns is where its at!  We went on a train through the rainforest to Kawanda, then a skyway over the rainforest.

3.  We learned about the aboriginals and threw boomerangs.

4.  We rode on a ww2 duck (boat/truck) through the rainforest with the most awesome guide that let a 7 year old drive!

5.  We touched kangaroos, koalas and wombats!

6.  Went to the Great Barrier Reef on a catamaran where it took us

to this sandbar and saw huge coral and huge fish.  One went after me!

It had to be 6 feet long!

7.  We went on a submarine.  Didn't see any turtles.  Oh well.

8.  We drove to the north of Australia to the Daintree rainforest.

I know Javier will get a kick out of the spider we found outside the

restrooms.  The 5th picture has a butterfly.

8.  All the aussies are totally nice and cool to talk to.  I can't wait to go back.

2006 Spring Training
Current mood: frustrated

March 2006 I went to Arizona to see my friend Corrina.  At the same time it was spring training so we were going to try to see some games.   Unfortunately we only saw 1/3 of a game.  We didn't plan it very well.  Hopefully next time will be better.

while we were there we met this awesome bunch of guys.

Andy, Corrina and I together again.

Stephanie and me.  Corrina's favorite people.

Corrina and I.  Having a blast.

 BASEBALL!

Just us girls tearing up the town.

The West Coast Crowd, together again!
