TORONTO (Hollywood Reporter) - Porn star Sasha Grey, the 2008 Adult Video Network female performer of the year and star of more than 80 porn films, is set to star in the Canadian low-budget horror film "Smash Cut."
Grey will play a TV news personality who goes undercover as an actress in a horror film to discover the killer of her older sister, a stripper.
"Smash Cut" director Lee Demarbre insists his indie movie has no nudity or sex, and Grey will remain fully clothed throughout.
"The only penetration is by knives and axes," he said of the slasher pic, a production of Ottawa-based Zed Filmworks.
Grey will co-star with B-movie legends David Hess ("Last House on the Left"), Michael Berryman ("The Hills Have Eyes"), Ray Sager ("The Wizard of Gore") and director-turned-actor Herschell Gordon Lewis ("Blood Feast," "2000 Maniacs").
Demarbre and "Smash Cut" producer Rob Menzies hope to release the film on the festival circuit ahead of a theatrical run in 2009.

NEW YORK — AVN Female Performer of the Year Sasha Grey has made her way into another music video for a major recording artist.
This time around, it's Grammy-winning hip-hop group The Roots, for an as-yet-unreleased track called "Birthday Girl."
"I was approached to do this music video for The Roots in 2007," Grey told AVN. "The video was shot very low-key and in a relaxed style on location in Long Island."
Directed by Rik Cordero, the video was shot last weekend and as of yet has no set release date. The song will be released exclusively through iTunes.
"For me, it sends an interesting message," Grey said. "Our society is obsessed with using sex to market videos, films, music, campaigns, etc., etc., but yet porn is considered taboo and immoral. The concept of the video is a girl turning 18, and luring men to her because she's of age, and her sister isn't happy about it.
"The entire video is filled with sexual innuendos, which is quite normal," she went on. "It will be exciting to see how many viewers get angry that a porn star is playing the role of a young woman who is embracing her sexuality in a naughty way."

Sometimes I feel like a stranger in my own country…
A stranger in a strange land.
This is really a rant. Yes, I do realise this is a bigger issue on both sides.
I don’t hold great pride for this country, but I do enjoy the benefits it provides-so call me a hypocrite…if that would make you feel more comfortable.
The land of the free (under surveillance).
Who’s to say my complaints wouldn’t be exactly the same if I was in another country…?!
The other day, my first day off in seven days, I went to get a massage at an "authentic" Thai spa. I handed the lady my debit card, and she looked at me like I was an imbecile. The same thing happened after I handed her cash. I felt like the entire staff was looking at me as if I was supposed to know how their business was run, and what set of stairs I was supposed to take to my room, etc.
I’m not writing this to elicit feelings of sorrow, or empathy, it’s just a rant.
Who should feel more uncomfortable the native, or the foreigner who has made a successful career for themselves in a country where they may not have such opportunities? Should both? Should either? That’s why America was "born" right?
It really pisses me off when foreigners hold a "holier than though" persona to an American citizen. I never treat foreigners with disrespect and I’m NEVER condescending as I’ve seen many people act. I treat them as my equal, and in fact I have many foreign friends and acquaintances. I’ve also had a few friends get deported, so this isn’t about hate.
Sometimes you get the older woman who won’t say hello or can I help you when you enter her deli.
Sometimes you get the man who addresses your fiancé, (brother, cousin, or male friend), when you asked the question.
Sometimes you get the man who expects you to step to the side so he can walk by.
Sometimes you get that young girl who pretends she doesn’t understand you.
Okay, enough with my fucking sometimes!
I may not like everything about this country, but I have enough positive reasons to live here at this point in my life.
And what about lack of assimilation…?
On the positive note, as I said I have many foreign friends and acquaintances (as well as fans). Most of them have worked very hard to fit into American culture, and they would never have it any other way. Many of them share the same complaints about Americans, as I’ve shared in my recent experience. So it does go both ways (sorry had to point out the obvious).
Just so you know, I don’t have an answer-stank you very much J
I’ll leave it here so everyone can share his or her thoughts/feelings.
P.S. I don’t agree with right wing immigration reform, bs! Us fat Americans wouldn’t have fresh fruit, or rotting veggies on our hamburgers if it weren’t for immigrants willing to work from the bottom to the top. Most Americans (primarily youth) believe they have some right that everything should be handed to them; they don’t have to work for it.

Thank you everyone for all the birthday well wishes. I sneaked into my lecherous 20th year with all the exhilaration of a middle of the road Johnny Mathis greatest hits comp stuck on repeat. I finally caught up on some sleep (being a pirate is hard work folks) and then Ian and I had outstanding Thai food for lunch…came home worked in the office for an hour or so …it was supposed to be a simple email check but you know that never happens. Ian somewhat clandestinely suggested that we go bear witness to the new David Gordon Green film "Snow Angels", playing at the Arclight in Hollywood …so after some small deliberation we were in the theatre enjoying the film. I suggest you go check it out, curious to know what others think Okay so the film ends, the lights slowly come up and I have to pee (like usual) Ian... like a little kid trying to pretend they didn’t see you eat Santa’s cookies and milk…notices the usher placing directors chairs in the front toward the audience. Could the director actually be coming for a Q&A …nawwww. Yes he did…and I did enjoy it, I just wish I could have thought of a question to ask him damn…next time gadget! It was a nice birthday surprise …and later Ian and I did a little work in the bedroom…my sock draw is finally organized…it felt soooo good.

Conversely …I'm energized and animated to share with the globe what I did yesterday …that's right I paid my taxes…NO just kidding…I was intensely active shooting a brilliant 3 way scene with the mighty BELLADONNA and Evan Stone for Digital Playgrounds: Pirates No.2! …In fact I'll be busy shooting more swashbuckling-fucking adventures for most of the merry madness month of March (I love alliteration) …even on my 20th birthday 3 .14. I'm excited to see it completed in its final grand FX montage state. More electrifying news to come…but now to sleep perchance to dream…of a blood red moon and rioting corpses …neat-o ?

Woke up early… decided to write some slipshod words in a small book with tiny handmade fonts…if you can dig that. Ass to mouth. Nineteen-eighty-five, plus you really have to watch what you say I told you couldn't use the word porn or porno without thinking …I mean that's the funny thing about words they make you think and act on them …read them…it's a bloody violation. I heard that Kurdt Cobain had the constipation (yes I put the "d" in there) I read it someplace album jacket notes…some shit like that.
Album covers…not dinky cassette "art"…or fucking coaster sized cd covers…I'm talking about man sized album art. I'm talking Velvet Underground Lou Reed ill type shit, so smooth it'll make a pimp take off his hat and bow down. The slightly moldy smell of the album jacket, goddamn I love that! The lost art of hunting for vinyl-or finding that perfect needle. Maybe I'll have to make some hot coco and but a paintbrush to a dull canvas, fuck Photoshop. Remember light bright-mine was missing half of the designs-I mean the real light bright not that faux raver/etard shit. I'd make my own designs; pretend I was making a Star Trek ship.
What about lemonade? They have sweet lemonade, Jamaican lemonade, and ghetto lemon-AID:that would be one lemon, half a bag of sugar, add water and stir. I can't believe I used to drink that shit. Fuck now I want some lemonade.

After appearing in the album artwork for Zeitgeist last summer, I was asked to be a part of the Smashing Pumpkins new music video Superchrist! The video debuts tomorrow February 27th, on the Pumpkins website. Superchrist will be part of an exclusive compilation CD available only at Guitar Center outlets March 1st. The video was a lot of fun to shoot, done very simply and with only four or so takes. You can also see the advertisement on smashingpumpkins.com (more info under news section). In other news, I know I'm way behind on updating everyone, I'll have some stuff to post really soon:)
