We can now notify you by email if a ticket becomes available. This has been one of the most asked-for features, and we hope it is well received.

You will be prompted to add an email alert if there are no tickets available for the event you are searching for.

There are some restrictions on this. We have limited the number of emails that we send out for any one event. We have set this limit to 20 initially and will review this at the end of the summer. Each registration for alerts will entitle you to 5 notifications - after that then you will need to re-register. If you click to buy a ticket then your alerts will stop for this event for all future tickets. You can also stop receiving alerts manually.

We would be very keen to receive feedback on this feature.

Reading and Leeds Festivals

We are handing Reading and Leeds tickets - they are listed alphabetically (Reading/Leeds) in the main Events list.

As in previous years we are listing all types of ticket together, including weekend. one-day etc. If you are selling tickets then please make clear what you are selling.

Before you have received the tickets we suggest that you do not take payment in full from the buyer. It might be reasonable to make a small deposit as a sign of good faith.

Because of the high value of Festival tickets then please take particular care to avoid fraud. We offer an escrow service if you cannot meet face-to-face. We urge you to take reasonable precautions when buying tickets from strangers.

Scarlet Mist on BBC2

Scarlet Mist is being featured on BBC2's Working Lunch on Monday (10th March) at 12.30pm. There will be an in depth look into how it works and prevents ticket touting. If you're busy at work/uni/school at 12.30, it will be available on BBC iPlayer at this address:

Goverment report on ticket touts

The DCMS Government Report on ticket touts has now concluded. Their report can be found here and the evidence from Scarlet Mist is on page 170.

The report does not seek to ban ticket touting, but asks the touts to behave like nice boys. 

We believe that some sort of exchange or refund mechanism for unused tickets is essential.

Scarlet Mist has argued that the way to control ticket touting is through taxation, and that ticket touts should be subject to paying taxes.

25,000 tickets!!!

On October 1st 2007 at 5.42pm, 4 and a half years after we began, the 25,000th ticket was exchanged through Scarlet Mist 

Over half these tickets have been sold in the last year alone. Our busiest month on record was August 2006 where 1790 people were sold face value tickets to all sorts of festivals and gigs.

We would like to thank you all for your support over the years and hope you will continue to use the ethical ticket exchange

Beware of Fraudulent sellers

We regret having to draw to your attention that there are some scumbags and fraudulent sellers who have been using Scarlet Mist to defraud people. They have advertised tickets for sale and then failed to send tickets.

Please be careful. Do not send money to people you do not know, especially by Paypal or bank transfer, unless you are sure they will send you the tickets you are buying. You should determine their postal address, phone number etc.

We provide an escrow service for your protection.

If you are contacted by anyone calling themselves Liam McMahon, Lee Davies, Kiera Bell or Ray Katsanda then please contact Scarlet Mist directly.

It is our policy to cooperate closely with the police and to share security information with other websites and agencies.

Scarlet Mist Party at Glastonbury

Scarletto invites everyone who has bought or sold a ticket through the mist, and all Scarlet Mist supporters, to our Glastonbury party. Meet the people you've been dealing with across the internet. Lets see what we all look like. Its on Thursday, the night before the music starts, at the Jazzworld stage mixing desk from 8.30 till 4 am.

Get your tent up, then Get Down to Scarlettos Party. Wear your Scarlet Robe and your Red Dancing Shoes! Music festivals are about Music, but they are a lot more than that. People go for the atmosphere and the buzz of being there. Our prefence is for dance music of all types - Dance, dancing-jazz, dancing-gospel, dancing-reggae, dancing-soul.

New Ticket Sales as well as Old

You can buy 'new' tickets, direct from the Official Suppliers, through Scarlet Mist. We have added a new feature to show tickets that have recently gone on sale, and a search facility.

We receive a small commission for every ticket that is sold through this link, and we are hoping that this will pay for the cost of providing the free ticket exchange service. Please take a look and see if the gig/event you want is listed here before looking at other ticket agencies. We are also expecting to increase the ticket inventory in the near future.

Reading Leeds Tinthpark and VFestival

As in previous years, we will be handling tickets for these festivals. We will list all tickets - day/weekend/camping/non-camping together. We have tried doing this diffeerntly in the past, but most people prefer to see them listed together.

Because of the high monetary value of these tickets, please take exceptional care to avoid fraud, scams and tricksters. Scarlet Mist is unable to offer any help if you are the victim of a thief. We urge you to meet face to face, or to use the escrow service.
