The Same Crap
Just a blog on random thoughts... It's weird...I saw a post from someone about moving to LA and I checked out their page and saw their Directors Reel notice the same type of thing done in music videos of today. The same colors, the same style, the same type of shots, etc. It makes me want to throw up quite honestly. Sure, it LOOKS cool, but where is the heart and soul on most of these music videos? Sure, people can look at my films and ask me the same and they have every right to, but I don't think the average prick who calls themselves a "writer" goes through the blood, sweat and tears that most of us go through. Most people do not experience the work we do to make a film, from casting to shooting, to the late hours of stressful editing, etc...
I feel like and hope I am doing the right things... I really do... Doing shit that is not the same as everyone else, films especially. I refuse to fall into that way of making art. To me I feel a lot of things can be art, and everyone will have an opinion, even me, so if anyone wants to honestly listen to what I have to say, great, and feel free to comment. I don't expect people to agree with me. I just hope to make understand that there is more to society and our minds than the same old shit that we see in every single music video. Business falls into the category as well because we have bands that need to sell records and because of this, they need to look like every other band or similar...Why? Because it sells. Image has always sold the band and the record.
When is it enough? I guess whenever we try to make things that are different than other people. It's either be a robot or be a freedom fighter in a sense. You can make either your own vision or you can make someone elses vision. Up to you.
Time to stop making the same old shit. Let's be more original and show the world something they haven't seen in a long time.
Shit man, in the fucking 60's and 70's no one cared about making their film just like so-and-so's. They just made it for the art. I talked with my friend Chris about this and I think if more people looked at filmmaking as an art-form rather than a stupid popularity contest, then I think we'd be better off.

My Next Film, "The Project"
Hey all, as many of you know I am big into politics and conspiracies that may or may not be true. I have been thinking hard about what film to do next after "Loss of Hope" is done and I thought why not make the film that is most close to my heart... That is film is "The Project" and it's about a man who refuses to be a part of society after Martial Law is declared. I have been working closely the past few shooting days with an actor who I have become good friends with, Chris Margaritis and I'm hoping that he accepts the duty of playing the main character, which I am sure he will. There was just something about his acting in a mock 16mm Vietnam Sequence for "Loss of Hope" that struck a chord with me. I felt the passion and the truth behind his acting and knew that it was natural. I felt it was coming from the soul. And he also is a commited and honest person. Here is his Myspace, give him an add: www.myspace.com/chrismargaritis .

Very interesting juxtaposition with Scott taping Paula after she shot four shows at Manhattan Neighborhood Network switching over to Paula interviewing Scott. Alan Steinfeld and Joe Friendly having a noticable power struggle in the control (or out of control) room! Fun and insightful about new directions for 9/11 truth

Horror Business Documentary
Horror Business is an outrageously entertaining documentary about guerrilla horror filmmakers and the bizarre culture that drives them to pursue their dreams. In 2003, filmmaker Christopher P. Garetano began what would become a two year journey to discover what possesses people to become horror filmmakers... Armed with nothing but a camera and a microphone, Chris traveled all over the United States to visit independent filmmakers on and off their sets. In Horror Business you will witness that two year journey unfold and meet some truly independent filmmakers including Mark Borchardt (American Movie) and Dave Gebroe (Zombie Honeymoon) along with monster movie personalities like Herschell Gordon Lewis (Blood Feast), Joe Bob Briggs (cult film critic & author), and Sid Haig (Spider Baby, The Devils Rejects). Horror Business is a timeless essay of popcorn generation nostalgia and behind-the-scenes moments that just may prove ..movie making really is no way to spend a life..
NOTE: Scott Goldberg will be featured in the sequel to HORROR BUSINESS entitled SON OF HORROR BUSINESS as one of the main subjects, so check out http://www.myspace.com/horrorbusinessmovie for updates on both films.
