Current mood: stoked

I got the front fenders with light bodies (energy drink cans) done last night. Wahooo, this was and engineering challenge from the begining but, I pulled it off. Now to run LED lights for my running lights.
Burnin Man Projects, only a month to go!
Current mood: high

Spent the weekend out on my In-Law's land workin on the trailor and shade structure. Ran the LED X-mas lights off the truck battery all night no problem. You would not believe how much light the 3 strands of white LEds lights up the area. The orange LEDs will be used on the trailor for mood lighting and or nightlight when we are away or sleeping.
The chute flows in the air like water it's very peacfull. Of course when the storms roll in, I am gonna guess it will get very violent. The worst I think I would get out of it those is some bent emt. The chute won't be going anywhere once pounded into the playa. I forgot to bring allot of stuff for the shade structure. But, it all came together well without some of the key stuff that will make it very stout.
Wish I had brought my starfield laser and blacklights to add to the LED lights. At night without the wind it feels like your under a festive circus tent. It's like building a great big fort with a few blankets and chairs like when we were kids. It droops down and lays on the flourescent orange parachute cord which lights up good in UV light when the wind dies down. When the wind is blowing it fills up like a sail which looks very cool. So I just need to add a few guy lines and another pole that will tie into my hitch and the shade structure is set. Feeling good about it's strength against the elements and the lack of.
1 spot from DFW to BRC and back.
Current mood: adventurous

My wife Mystical, our newly acquired passenger Zac and I are a group of virgins looking for one more person to share in gas / motel expenses for the trip too and from BRC. We have 1 more spot available in my Toyota Tacoma crew cab, which will be towing a 16 foot flat bed trailer. I'll be the only one driving unless you are experienced in pulling a big ass trailer.
I would like to leave midday on Friday the 22 and be at the gates of BRC Monday morning. So preferably be at our house Thursday night and crash on the couch so we can have the trailer all packed up. We will head back Sunday at some point. Resting in Vegas for the night then planning on being back by late Tuesday night. We would like to get to know you before we commit fully to sharing our ride. I think you can get a good idea of us from my photos so feel free to check them out.
We plan on seeing a few sites on the way there and back. Open to any suggestions about our route and stops, so nothing is in stone. So if you are experienced in this cross country trek that's definitely a plus for us. Not planning on doing more than shooting a few pictures and checking things out then, back on the road again.
We may or may not hit all of these spots depending on time and resources.
The route there- Our first point of interest on the way to Burning Man is going to be the Cadillac Ranch, Amarillo, Texas where we will leave our tag on one of the old classics. It's 350.1 mi, 5hr 34min from the house to the Cadillac's.
Our second point of interest on the way is Route 666 now known as U.S. Route 491. We hit it after exiting off of West I-40. It's 413.9 mi, 5hr 53min from the Cadillac Ranch, totaling the trip at 764 mi, 11hr 27min.
Our third point of interest on the way is Mesa Verde. It's 165.9 mi, 3hr 6min from the start of Route 666, near the town of Cortez totaling the trip at 929.9 mi, 14hr 33min.
Our fourth point of interest on the way is Arches National Park. It's 138.7 mi, 2hr 22min from Mesa Verde, near the town of Moab totaling the trip at 1068.6 mi, 15hr 55min.
Our Fifth point of interest on the way is the Bonneville Salt Flats. It's 348.1 mi, 5hr 42min from the Arches, near the Salt Lake City, Utah totaling the trip at 1416.7 mi, 21hr 37min.
The route back- The start of our way home and first point of interest is Las Vegas The Entertainment Capital of the World. It's 492.7 mi, 7hr 42min from the town of Gerlach. We are going to crash here if we can.
No longer hittin the damn due to the pain in the ass of getting searched because of driving a trailer. Our second point of interest is the Hoover Damn. It's 30 mi, 33 min from the Las Vegas, leaving us with a total of 522.7 mi, 8hr 15min.
Our third point of interest is the Grand Canyon. It's 251.9 mi, 3 hr 56 min from the Hoover Damn, leaving us with a total of 774.6 mi, 12 hr 11 min.

Fenders mounted for fittting purposes.
The yellow-green pole with the two eye bolts is one of three main shade structure tubes. Thanks to Jasmine for getting me these bad boys. Not to mention we both got to put on hard hats and walk around the warehouse full of fun metal to build shit with. Fun fun fun! They are a son of a bitch to drill holes in. Super stout metal! Only thing left is to make them dayglo candycane looking so my drunk stoner ass dosen't walk into them in the moonless nights at Burning Man.
Sharpening the tips of the main support tube's rebar stakes, to make them go in to the ground easier(in theory). One of them shown to the left of the yellow-green tubing. Kinda looks like a bullet on the tip?
Close up of the ammo boxs before spray painting stenciled icons on the sides.
Finished playa coat storage chest with latches and bike gear knob.
