TRICK 'r TREAT was written and directed by Michael Dougherty and produced by Bryan Singer, Alex Garcia and Dan Harris. This will be Michael Dougherty's return to Screamfest as he won Best Animated Short in 2003 for his short DEADTIME STORIES.
The 8th annual festival will be held October 10th-19th at the Mann Chinese Theaters in Hollywood, California. This will be the first public showing of the film.

Beverly Hills, CA (September 19, 2007) – In advance of the nationwide release of 30 Days of Night, Columbia Pictures'/Ghost House Pictures' highly anticipated vampire horror-thriller, the film will have a special screening at the annual Screamfest Horror Film Festival at Grauman's Chinese Theatre on October 16, it was jointly announced today by Rachel Belofsky, founder of the festival, and 30 Days of Night producers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert.The film will be released in theaters everywhere on October 19, 2007.
The special screening will be attended by the film's stars, Josh Hartnett, Melissa George, and Ben Foster.Producers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, director David Slade, and Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith, authors of the graphic novel on which the film is based, will also attend.(Niles also contributed to the screenplay.)

30 Days of Night marks Steve Niles' return to Screamfest; last year, the festival opened with David Arquette's The Tripper, which Niles executive produced.

The largest film festival held in Los Angeles, Screamfest (a non-profit 501 (3) (c) organization), is an internationally recognized showcase for independent filmmakers and writers of the horror, science fiction and fantasy genres.
Film entries are being accepted in the categories of Best Feature, Directing, Cinematography, Editing, Special Effects and Musical Score to name a few.In addition, there are special categories for Best Animation, Best Short, Best Documentary and Best Student Film.The early deadline for films submissions is June 15th and normal deadline for film submissions is July 15th, with a late deadline of August 15th.Screamfest accepts film completed after January 1st, 2004.
