Category: Music

**MEET-UP THIS SUNDAY JUNE 22***

Hello Bay Area/N California Pumpkinheads

We're having another meet-up in Berkeley on the UC campus
this Sunday /22 .We'll be getting started around 1pm.

Our Pumpkin Patch is, once again, a lovely grassy
area known as North Fork Strawberry Creek
(The intersection of University Ave.
and Oxford is a good way to orient
yourself and is also very close to the
site). See maps directly below.

Though There's food nearby (esp.
pizza!), feel free to bring food,
beverages, guitars, blankets...

Musicians, do bring your guitars, etc. :)

If anyone's interested in snagging one of our now classic collectictible
San Francisco 2007 The Year of the Pumpkin T-shirts (the very sames ones
Billy and Co. wear to bed each night I'm sure) , let me know and I'll bring one
for you (more info. about colors and sizes  in our T-shirt blogs)

Any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to drop me a line :)

See you on Sunday!:)

~Harry

As 2007 winds down, it truly has been 'The Year of the Pumpkin'. To commemorate and celebrate this
magical year in Pumpkinland, our '2007 The Year of the Pumpkin' T-shirts is available in 6
killer colors: The ever popular Black, Charcoal Gray (men's long-sleeves only), Purple, Hot
Pink, Red (Xl Youth Only — equivalent to a Small Adult), and Violet All are emblazoned
with the eye-catching Silver Sparkle logo (except the red shirts, which have a cool chrome yellow logo)

Short-sleeves shirts are **slashed 33% — a real steal at $10 (+ s/h)
Long-sleeve shirts are 25% off and a bargain at $15 (+ s/h)

While these shirts were originally designed for San Francisco Bay Area
Pmpkinheads, you don't have to be from the Bay Area to own one.
We have shirts floating around in half a dozen states, as well as in Australia. More
importantly, we're really one large community and extended family. Rest assured, you'll be in
*very* good company — Proud owners of the SFSP T-shirt include 4 special people whose
first names are Billy, Jimmy, Ginger, and Lisa (Billy, in fact, owns two. Yes, these
are the people I'm implying. And we assume they're proud)

Not only have people
commented on the SFSP shirt's look, but also on its durability. These
shirts are meant to last (heavy duty 6.1oz cotton) These festive SFSP shirts would
make a **Great Gift** for the Pumpkinhead in your life (or the person you're trying to
convert into becoming one). Or just treat yourself amid the holiday madness. If you order
by Dec. 20, your shirt(s)
should arrive in time for Christmas. I'm happy to save
you shipping and handling charges if you'd like to pick
up your shirt in person in
Berkeley.)

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to drop me a line.

Fillmore Ticket Sharing Forum

Fillmore Ticket Sharing

Even with 11 shows (3 more were added this morning as individual shows sold out quickly) not everybody was able to get a ticket. I thought this blog could serve as a combination message-board and Ticket sharing forum to connect fans who have extra tickets with those who don't have a ticket. I happen to know there are both types of people out there.

I shouldn't even have to say this, but **please** don't scalp your extra tickets, folks. These are your fellow Pumpkinheads! If someone you hooked up with here attempts to scalp his/her extra ticket(s), please drop us a note — though there's probably not much we could do besides shunning the rat (You shouldn't have to pay much more than $36.15 per ticket — $25 for the ticket and $11.15 for the service charge). Billy and the band implemented these unusual anti-scaplping/piracy' measures for a reason. Let's not taint a beautiful moment.

**

May everyone have a Ticket by mid July!

~Harry

Smashing Pumpkins Announce US Residency Dates!!!
Current mood: enthralled
Category: Music

3:32 PM - The Smashing Pumpkins announce US residency dates!

THE SMASHING PUMPKINS

CONFIRM TWO RESIDENCY STANDS:

NINE SHOWS AT ASHEVILLE, NC'S ORANGE PEEL JUNE 23-JULY 5

AND EIGHT SHOWS AT THE FILLMORE IN SAN FRANCISCO JULY 22-AUGUST 1

As they get ready to release ZEITGEIST--their sixth album and first of new material since 2000--THE SMASHING PUMPKINS have announced two sets of residency gigs: nine unprecedented shows at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC (June 23, 24, 26, 27, 29, 30 and July 2, 3, and 5) plus eight shows at the historic Fillmore in San Francisco (July 22, 24, 25, 27, 28, 30 and 31 and August 1).

At these very special and intimate residencies, the band will vary set lists from night to night. They'll perform songs from Zeitgeist and Pumpkins classics plus retool songs that didn't make it onto Zeitgeist and even offer tunes written the day of the show. The shows will give fans a unique opportunity to see the Pumpkins inside the process of creation and operating in the spur of the moment. The band will be taking chances in the hope of taking fans, and their music, to new places.

The eight concerts in San Francisco mark the first time the band has returned to The Fillmore since April of 1994 when they were invited to be the band to re-open the historic venue. The Asheville shows mark the first time the Pumpkins will have played a residency since their four gigs at the Double Door in Chicago in 1994 before the release of Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness. Fans attending the Fillmore and Orange Peel shows are invited to capture the concerts with audio and video recorders.

General admission tickets for these all-ages shows go on sale Sunday, May 20. The San Francisco tickets ($25.00 each) and will be available at 10:00 AM Pacific via www.ticketmaster.com and www.livenation.com. For the Asheville show, tickets ($20.00 each) will go on sale at 1:00 PM Eastern at www.theorangepeel.net or www.ticketweb.com.

PLEASE NOTE: Tickets for both shows will be available through internet ONLY. Tickets will NOT be available at either box offices, charge-by-phone or ticket outlets. Two-ticket limit per person. Purchaser must pick up tickets at the box office night-of-show only. Ticket-holders must immediately enter the venue. Photo ID required for ticket pick-up. Tickets are non-transferable. No refunds or exchanges. A service charge is added to each ticket price.

ZEITGEIST (Martha's Music/Reprise)--out July 10--is their first album of new material since 2000's Machina/The Machines of God and the free, digital-only release Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music. ZEITGEIST was produced by Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin, with Roy Thomas Baker and Terry Date working separately on various tracks, and represents the culmination of two years of work.

Look for the band's world tour to get underway May 22 in Paris, France with an intimate show at the historic and elegantly appointed Grand Rex--their first live performance since December 2, 2000. The Grand Rex show sold out within minutes of going on sale.

The Smashing Pumpkins have created one of the most acclaimed bodies of work in music history. Formed in Chicago in 1988, they released Gish, their influential (and platinum) debut in 1991, which was followed by more platinum and multi-platinum albums including the nine-times platinum Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness and the four-times platinum Siamese Dream. The pivotal group's many hits include "Disarm," "Today," "Cherub Rock," "1979," "Tonight, Tonight" and "Bullet With Butterfly Wings"--songs that defined the alternative music era and continue to resonate on modern rock radio, influencing a whole new generation.
