Where to bring your stuff
Now that we have storage space, we can take all your donations!
The usual stuff: clothes, books, CDs and media, household and kitchen things, etc can be brought to Food Fight Grocery (4179 SE Division St) during their normal business hours (10am - 8pm every day). Please bag or box these items up securely and wrap fragile items in newspaper or clothing.
Tables, clothing racks, and large items should be brought to our storage place at 4109 N Winchell St during one of the drop-off times. We would be very happy to take all your smaller stuff at this location, as well (Food Fight has limited space). The next drop-off time is Sunday, April 29th from 4:00 to 6:00 only. You can also make an appointment with Elise by contacting us!
Huge things like heavy dressers can't be stored at Food Fight. Please contact us with pictures of the item(s) and we'll work something out - it may be best to bring them on the day of the sale (May 13). Remember that it has to be something someone would buy, so please no mattresses, grungy couches, or the kinds of things you can easily find for free on the sidewalk.
If these drop-off hours and locations absolutely cannot work for you, please contact us and we'll do our best to help out. We especially need lots of tables and clothing racks, so we'll make something work.
Thanks for reading and donating - see you soon!

Donation guidelines for the 2nd annual sale!
Current mood: excited
Hi again! We're having another rummage sale this year to benefit the Shac 7. Last summer, with your help, the sale raised over $700 that went towards the shac kids' legal fund. Let's see if we can top that! There are many ways you can help.
The best way to help ensure this event's success is to donate your unwanted items. Please read the following and contact us if you need anything clarified.
We want just about everything. Here were some of the most successful sellers last year:
- cool clothes! - clean toys in good shape - DVDs and videos - clean stylish lingerie - housewares - kitchen wares: dishes, pots & pans, mugs, dinnerware, "silver"ware are always in demand - CDs, tapes, vinyl - home decor - jewelry and accessories - little interesting things for the 25 cent table - random junk, for kids' goodie bags - beads and bead necklaces were very popular last year - craft stuff
We will take big things like furniture or bicycles on the day of the sale, but only if you will deliver AND be responsible for picking them up if they don't sell.
Please do not donate any of the following:
- REAL leather, fur, wool, silk, pearls, feathers and down, etc - firearms, fireworks, weapons, etc - bongs and suchlike - alcohol - things that might be misconstrued by idiots as terrorist threats - foods of any kind, including homemade baked goods - pornography, nudie magazines, sex toys, and other things that under-18s have never seen before - other stuff that could get us into legal trouble/requires a license to sell (use common sense)
This year, we'd really like a lockbox (the kind with separate compartments for cash and coins) we could borrow for the day. Let us know if you have one!
Tables! Lightweight, folding-leg ones. You can have them back at the end of the day.
We could also use bags or boxes for the customers, and paper lunch sacks for goodie bags.
And finally, remember that we'll be spending a lot of time organizing and tagging your items.. but not cleaning them! Make sure everything is dusted off, non-stinky, and in working order. We're not hoping for a parking lot full of brand new stuff, but clean, working items will fetch higher prices, and this is all about maximizing profits to help the Shac 7.
We'll need the donations before the day of the sale, of course. Be sure to box or bag them up securely. Contact us for a location nearby to drop off your items (pickup may be negotiable for the automobilically challenged).
Thanks! With your help, this year's sale will be even bigger and better than the last.
