MUAH HA HA HA HAHHHHH!
Current mood: sleepy
Category: Life
The internet now flows freely in my own home. We are not yet unpacked, but we can watch the season premiere of Heroes in HD AND I can surf the internet and pay bills online.
This weekend marks the last weekend of moving, since the paid occupation of the basement runs out... so, moving the rest of the crap will occur at the end of this week. Now we just have to figure out where to put it all.
Anyone know where to get realtively cheap, yet nice, bookshelves? And quite a few of them. A darkish brown/wood color/pattern would be nice.
Oh, and I joined a competition at work to lose 15lbs by December 7th. This ought to be fun. I hate not winning, so I guess I'm gonna lose weight.

Two days of rain, but that’s nothing compared to Dean.
Current mood: gloomy
The red pin is where my best friend is.
So, yeah, I'm a little worried. She emailed to say she is not evacuating. She thinks the small cinder-block house she's in is as safe as the shelters available in the area. I'm praying for her, and hoping I might be able to visit her in the spring.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I'm still trying to get everything together to close on my house. I just need to nail down the flood insurance, which is the most expensive and retarded thing I have ever encountered. Because I live next to a river, I have to have it.
If the rouge river rises 10-15 feet to reach my house, I think I'll have bigger things to worry about. Like finding Noah and getting on the Ark.
John and I drove by it, and after two days of rain, it's not even to the first hill, although it has broken out of the normal riverbed. Four days of rain to go, and I bet it still won't flood up to the house.

Shopping
Current mood: pleased
I signed a purchase agreement to buy a house today.
It's scary and exhilarating at the same time. Exhilarated Despair. Hah!

Not the greatest picture of it. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 fireplaces, a daylight window in the finished basement, and an attached one car garage that has access to the house and the outside via those carports you can see on the right. There is a really nice deck for entertaining and a huge park across the street that contains the Rouge River. River is kind of a liberal indication... it's really more of a creek. It's water, though.
I read today on Wikipedia that there is no place in Michigan where you have to drive more than 6 miles to get to a lake, and no more than 85 miles to a Great Lake.
I should be moving in September. No instant gratification here.
P.S. So, what's everyone in Albuquerque doing Labor Day weekend?

New Job, New House, New Glasses and a New Profile Photo!
Current mood: moody
Well, today was Friday the 13th, and the whole day I thought it was Thursday. This was a bummer for two reasons: I love Fridays the Thirteenth, and I thought I had one more day before the weekend before I start my new job. I'm kinda nervous about it because I'm not really sure what I'm going to be doing, exactly. I'm sure I will love it, though.
I've also been looking at houses, which is fun, but stressful. I hear all these stories about people going into houses and just "knowing" that it was the house for them. So far I've been in about 15 houses, and I like things about each one, but the only one that has really impressed me needed paint, appliances, flooring, waterproofing in the basement and had two dead cats in the broken pool out back.
Oh, and I got new glasses today, and I think they're cute, but I'm not sure. John says they are, but that's kinda his job. I do know that they're making me dizzy because they're making the ground seem all far away and stuff. I think I'm getting used to it, though.

777, lucky monkey, eh?
Current mood: nostalgic
Category: Blogging
Some of you might remember when I was a big blogger back in the day. Then, life got crazy and I took the four years of my life offline because it seemed weird to have four years of my life a laid out online where everyone could read a post I wrote four years ago and judge me by the person I was at that time. Recently I found out that a good friend of mine has started blogging, and I don't get to talk to her that much, and it's been a good way for me to keep in contact with her, even if it is just peripherally.
So, I think I'm going to try to blog a little more often, because it's a pretty good way to kind of keep in touch. I've been feeling pretty out of touch lately, and I really miss everyone, and I feel uninvolved with my own life somehow. I probably need therapy. Journaling is good therapy, right?

Category: Blogging
I have the Bronchitis AND the Laryngitis. And 4 days off work -unpaid. I'm trying to get caught up on all my internetting, reading and video gaming, but mostly I'm too tired to do anything but stare at the tv.
So, that's the latest update.

The End of Productivity
Current mood: dorky
Category: Blogging
I bought an XBox 360. Costco had a pretty good deal, and I needed a dvd player... I know, I could have gotten a dvd player for $25 at Wal-Mart... But, I figure it cost me a week's pay to get it, and I'm gonna need a week's worth of entertainment this winter. It was 5 degrees today with the windchill. Nobody should have to go out in that. I need quality indoor entertainment.
Oh, and I had to get Dead Rising, which is one of the best. video. games. evar!

In The Last Week...
Current mood: distressed
I was denied the mortgage to buy my uncle's half of the house. The air conditioner fell out of my car. I ripped 1/4 of my right big-toe toenail off moving a really heavy plastic barrel across my yard. My home phone stopped working for four days. I stopped working - i.e. I was told my services were no longer needed at the Dairy. Gas jumped to $4.29/gal here today. So, yeah, that's the week I've had. On one hand, I'm relieved to not have to think about accounting anymore, but now I have to think about how to pay bills, where to get a job, where to move to, and how to pay bills in the meantime. Good times. What have I done?

She Works Hard For The Money...
Current mood: lonely
So hard for it, honey. I have been going to work for a little over a week, now. I'm doing some crazy accounting stuff for the local dairy through the temp agency. It's not so bad. Going back to work after a 10 month hiatus has been a challenge, but it's a relief. Now if I could just find a more permanent job, I'd be fine. I doubt a bank is going to loan a chunk of money to someone who works as a temp. Who knows, though? I really have no idea how long this assignment will last. It could be a week, it could be a month, it could be six months. No indication whatsoever. Yep, gotta find something more reliable.

A Little More than 50%
Current mood: tired
My best friend recently asked me how many people on my friends list were people I didn't meet through Myspace... and I had no idea, but I just counted it up. Of 133 people on my friends list, 70 of them were people I met outside of myspace. So, I'm happy to say, a little more than half. I actually figured it would be much lower considering the general nature of myspace.

I saw a beaver yesterday and it wasn't the one in my pants!
Current mood: cynical
It wasn't in anyone else's pants, either. It was an actual beaver swimming around in the lake behind my house. I tried to find the beaver house, but it must be hidden pretty well. So yeah, yesterday: chase beaver. Today: find a job.
