I'll be offline for a week or so.  We're laying tile in our basement, so the pc will be off limits.  But, I'll miss you all, and of course, call if you need me.,

Thanks to the great men of fire

So, I was a bit of a negligent mommy today.  As some of you know, I have  a new vehicle, and I'm not fully familiar with the buttons and junk.  Today, trying to get Ian out of the car, I attempted to unlock the doors, but instead, locked the doors.  With Ian in the car!

Scott tried to break in for about five minutes before I got worried and called the Fire Department.  I thought they would just send a guy in a pick-up, which the did, but five minutes after he arrived, the big Fire Engine arrived with about six firemen in it.

After a few minutes of morification that the whole neighborhood was now witness to my negligence, they managed to get the doors unlocked.  Now, Ian was only in there for maybe 10 minutes, but he was really ticked off at it all, and was screaming bloody murder.  Luckily, he settled quickly down.

I just wanted to say thanks to the Fire Dept. for thier quick help.

Making Love on a Piano
Category: Writing and Poetry

I sit in front of you, with my hands poised above your skin.  Black and white stripes make me smile.  I love to press on you, to feel your weight.  Your sounds are magical, and pure.  My heart rises with your pitch.  You make me free with those long dramatic pauses.  Harder and softer, faster and slower, higher and lower, your keys bring me to life.

Clogs In My Drain
Category: Writing and Poetry

I wrap these words around my mind.

Down they go, censored by common sense.

They trip on my tounge, sticking like peanut butter, minus the jelly.

I try so hard to tell you, to help you see.

Why haven't you discovered, found me out?

Do you think this is the real me?

Guitar Hero Wrist
Current mood: distraught
Category: Games

I have discovered a new medical phenomenon, unfortunately in myself, which I will call "guitar hero wrist."  This is a painful condition caused by the repetitive stresses placed on the left wrist while playing guitar hero for many hours a day.

You may be shocked to find that I have such a condition, being such an enemy to the gaming industry.  It's sad for me to confess, but I'm hooked on this game.  I love most everything about it, and I can express some of my competitive energy out in the multi-player feature.

If anyone would like further information about the care of guitar hero wrist, message me, and I will send you an after-care sheet.

Movies I’d rather not live without
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

I watch these movies at least once a month.  Each has a different pull on me, but I am hooked on them.

The Christmas Story, Dumb and Dumber, Girl Interrupted, The Godfather, Uncle Buck, National Lampoon's European Vacation, Strange Brew, Down With Love, The Goonies, Labrynth, The Virgin Suicides, Legend, The Princess Bride,

I wish I could think of more, I know there are a few others.  My memory is quite impaired lately.  Sleep deprivation is the main culprit, I think.

Hand claps
Category: Life

My beautiful gifted child has learned to clap his hands and say "YAY!"

This is the cutest thing I have ever seen, and I think if you experienced it, you would have to agree.

He is in this phase where he wants to immitate every thing that you do.  It's freaking adorable.

Baby colds
Category: Life

Baby colds suck so much.  Poor Ian can't breath at all.  And there is all this gross stuff all over his nose that just won't wash off.  And he is coughing and sneezing.  And his little eyes are watering so much that there are tiny little salt crystals forming on his cheeks.  And he can't sleep, which means that I can't either.  He's pretty miserable.  I hope he gets over this quickly.

We went to watch Hudson's Christmas parade this weekend.  It was really small, but we got lots of candy thrown our way cause we were holding a baby.  It has its perks, lol.

I'm hooked on Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel.  It smells so freaking yummy.

Congrats to Jeannie for having a healthy baby!

Anything else?  I can't remember cause I'm so freaking tired.

I know this blog has been kinda random, but if you read the sentence right before this one, you'll understand.

The Need
Category: Writing and Poetry

One of my favorite poems by that wonder-man Rod McKuen.

The Need

It's nice sometimes
to open up the heart a little
and let some hurt come in.
It proves you're still alive.

If nothing else
it says to you–
clear as a high hill air,
uncomfortable
as diving through cold water–

I'm here.
However wretchedly I feel,
I feel.

I'm not sure
why we cannot shake
the old loves
from our minds.
It must be that
we build on memory
and make them more
than what they were.
And is the manufacture
just a safe device
for closing up the wall?

I do remember.
the only fuzzy circumstance
is sometimes where and how.
Why, I know.

It happens
just because we need
to want and to be
wanted, too,
when love is here or gone
to lie down in the darkness
and listen to the warm.
