"Well of life"

The shining mist of tears
Glistening on your cheek
Blurring your eyes
Tiny beads streaming to puddles
Each drop a story
A milestone in a long life
The dampness a testimony
The drops of happiness or sorrow
Each tear a feeling
Each tear a longing
Each tear a laugh
Each tear a love
The well of life
Glistening on your cheek

"Stolen" a new poem (a dark write)
Category: Writing and Poetry

"Stolen"

Blackness has escaped its tethered bounds
it has attacked you this very night

Bitten deep into your soul
taken all that was right

replaced it with an acid tongue
and eyes so hard to fight

Bloody holes upon your neck
an aversion to all that's bright

A lust for death blood and gore
blackness in the mind that once held light

"her light"
Category: Writing and Poetry

"Her Light"

"Her Light"

The light dimming in the night
not a beacon anymore just a glint
once a strong guiding force
lost and adrift on a black sea
waves violently crashing the small frame
the lone soul seeks peace
alas there is none to be found

Her demise went unnoticed
her voice was not missed
her story left untold
The paramedics arrived
the smell brought them
the house meticulous
the figurines in there place
the dishes all safely stacked

She died alone amongst her things
her guiding light finally gone
faded to black dark as coal
no one knew her no one cared
the ambulance now occupied
Alas, something was forgotten
A return to the house must be made
the light under the door finally noticed
Her story finally clear
the beauty adorned the walls
her paintings framed in gold

"Fairytale Love" A COLLAB WITH HELLS LITTLE DARK ONE
Category: Writing and Poetry

"Fairytale Love"

MySpace Comments - Love

"Fairytale Love"

the light in your eyes shine
like any starlit summer night
you suspend time as if in a dream
we dance as one our hearts our song

When I feel your lips pressed against mine
Its like fireworks shooting out on 4th of July
And there's no one else to see the fireworks but us
In each others arms feeling each others breath against
Our Cheeks as we wrap up in each other's embrace

our souls touch in a union of melded minds
my thoughts become yours and yours mine
each breath I take to the beat of your heart
you whisper in my ear a melody just for me

A song so sweet and so well written
By the one who means the most to my heart
I will cradle this melody close to my heart
So that it will be close to the heart of the one
It was written for by the one who makes my heart
Beat so fast and never skip a beat

a dream that we have made our own
stolen from a beautiful fairytale
ripped from the pages of a book
it is our fairytale to live and breathe

A fairytale so sweet and so true
That does seem to come from any fairytale
That I've ever read before
And has more reality then the ones you read
When you're a child still dreaming
Of your prince charming that will
One day sweep you off your feet

What a gorgeous collaboration.. I love this one Sherrie I mean I love them all but this one stands out... I guess because inside every little girl dreams of fairytale love.. and you have penned it so eloquently here.. it has a very whimsical fantasy feel with superb emotive qualities.. I enjoyed every stanza.. but if I had to guess (only a guess now) I believe you started at the second one and each one subsequent to the pattern... I could be wrong.. I also noticed that I missed your last post.. I give you permission to beat me butt .. but only because I love you.. XOXOXOX beautifully written.. and btw I too love the vampire.. but it was a nice not seeing it in this one.. Giggle

"A Dreamer in a mundane world" a repost
Category: Writing and Poetry

Hi all well I went digging in my archives again I though you guys might like this one.

"A Dreamer in a mundane world"

A world full of chaos and cruelty
Pain and sorrow seem to fill our days
People watch as the good goes unnoticed
They walk away as the beggar begs
As the robber robs
As the liar lies
As the dreamer cries
A dreamer in a mundane world

A dreamer sees trough tears
Tears that hide the liars lies
Tears that hide the thieves thievery
Tears that cry for the beggars as they beg
Tears that feel pain and sorrow as well as the good
A dreamer cries for the good they see
A dreamer in a mundane world

See the world as a dreamer
See the flowers bloom
See the children play
See the hero save
See the beggar fed
See the thief jailed
See the liar confess
See the dreamer cry
A dreamer in a mundane world

A new name chosen thank you all for your suggestions!!!
Category: Writing and Poetry

I would like to thank "Kristine","Winters child" and "A sychos wife"

I chose.....

"A Maiden Fair Lulaby"

Well everyone for once I am stuck for a title so I am asking all of you for suggestions are you game??

"A Maiden Fair Lulaby"

The sun arises this day bright in the sky
a greeting so to speak its way of saying hi

It glints on the water as if diamonds were thrown there
Its greeting awakes the dreaming maiden fair

She stretches and yawns in her bed made of silk and lace
brightening at the day she will face

The beautiful dreams still linger in her sleepy mind
of her wonderful knight so loving and kind

A fairy tale life she lives protected in this place
full of beautiful things no evil not a trace

She bounds from her bed to ring her trusty bell
that brings her maid her wishes she would tell

A service of fine silver and gold
The delicacies these fine things would hold

The fine silks and jewels she would wear
still she plays completely unaware

out in the sun that awoke her to this day
this fair maiden is so ready to play

frolicking in the garden picking flowers here and there
So beautiful in the sun is this maiden fair

her love she would meet at the end of the lane
never would this maiden feel an once of pain

there he stands all handsome and beautifully dressed
just waiting to be loved and caressed

she runs to him with love in her eyes
he swings her up gravity defies

what a fairytale this sight to see
said the little girl with laughing glee

grandma smiled and patted her head
its time for you sweet darling to be off to bed

With a kiss and a hug and blankets tucked tight
the little girl had beautiful dreams this night

"The house of spirits"
Category: Writing and Poetry

"The house of spirits"

MySpace Comments - I Love You

"The house of spirits"

The house sat on the hill for over 2 centuries
the ivy climbing the trellises surrounding it
almost as if the house had grown there
she sat in the beautiful garden
musing over the stories she had been told
as the sunset so beautifully on that warm night
she had been alone for so long
it showed in etched lines on her face
every night this beautiful lady waited
her long white hair set free of its braids
to tumble down her back in waves
Her silken gown gently blowing in the breeze
as the night approached she waited
she new this house to be haunted
she new it but she didn't fear
she had lived her whole life in this house
she new every hallway and every door
she had been married here in this very garden
gave one last kiss to her husband
when he went off to war
she could see what most could not
she new the ghost stories to be true
the little girl by the lake
the man wondering the west wing
the woman who cried in the nursery
she new them all as if they were real
so every night this beautiful lady waited
waited for her love to appear by her side
waited for his midnight appearance
alas out of the shadows he approached
this night to dance in the moonlight
his arms strong and so very real
she danced until she could dance no more
in the grass he held her in his arms
content forever more in her lovers embrace
the sunrise beheld such a beautiful sight
this beautiful white haired lady
the smile peacefully graced her lips
she passed where she had lived
the house sat protecting her still
as she danced with her lover
moonlight shining in her long white hair

" The stage of words"
Current mood: inquisitive
Category: Writing and Poetry

"The stage of words"

Spilling thoughts so fleetingly forgotten
In an age where all is misbegotten

A place to stack words in the order of ones mind
be it to laugh or cry or to be just plain kind

Alas, words of the mind are but an ease in ones consciousness
A link to the inner workings of ones mind a link to openness

Can one find peace within the words written on a page?
Is it not like a play on a grand beautiful stage?

Ones mind eye builds the props by word and rhyme
Even goes so far as to write a date and time

To expel what was formally hidden behind your eyes
On to a stage of words built from your eternal cries

Will it expel the thoughts that cloud a weary mind in need?
In torment to express in the open what boggles some to read

If the mind were an open stage what would be the play
Would we as human be able show the world what we wish to say

I think not for a story with ending and beginning it must be
but in verse we are set on a path of words that set us free

Express the inner minds workings in whatever form you choose
Dance the naked thoughts of your mind with your own internal muse

Wiser words have never been spoken.. yes poetry writing sharing.. these things bring us together.. we find common ground and a certain peace that only comes with understanding and sympathizing with another.. it enables to grow and learn... I love the sentiment you have in this piece.. it's profound to me as a poet.. for this is what I try and convey to everyone who reads me.. a kindredship in this place.. Your wise indeed my Sherrie..
I loved this.. very well written indeed!! XOXOXOXO ~Shay

" The devils muse '
Category: Writing and Poetry

"THE DEVILS MUSE"

WILL SHE COME TO HIM NOW ALL BROKEN A ND BRUISED
BARING THE SCARS OF BEING THE DEVILS MUSE

HIS BRIDE SHE WAS ON THAT FATEFUL DAY
WHEN THE DEVIL BROUGHT HIS DEMONS TO PLAY

SHE FOUGHT AND FOUGHT TO NO AVAIL
LEAVING BEHIND A BLOODY TRAIL

THE DEVIL HE DID TORTURE HER SOUL
ON AND ON IT TOOK ITS TOLL

HE BID HER TO HIS PEN SHE WOULD WRITE
THE DEVILS TALES OF HIS DARKEST NIGHT

HE SOUGHT HER OUT TO DO THIS DEED
HIS STORY TOLD WAS HIS NEED

SHE WROTE AND WROTE HIS STORIES LONG
HER SWEET VOICE DID SING THE DEVILS SONG

DEEP INSIDE SHE KEPT THE LIGHT
SHE FELT UPON HER WEDDING NIGHT

SCRATCH AND SCREECH THE PEN DID FIND
THE DEEPEST PART OF THE DEVILS MIND

IN HER MIND THE LIGHT DID GUIDE
ALONG THE PATH FOR A PLACE TO HIDE

IN THE DEEPEST OF HIS THOUGHT
WAS WHERE THE DEVIL WAS FINALLY CAUGHT

SHE LULLED HIS MIND FROM PEN TO VOICE
WITHIN HER SPELL HE HAD NO CHOICE

FOR THE DEVILS SONG SHE DID SING
SWEETLY LULLING THIS EVIL THING

AS HE SWAY UPON HIS FEET
HIS OWN DOOM HE WOULD MEET

AS TENDER VOICE AND TENDER SONG
MADE HIM WEAK WHILE MAKING HER STRONG

SHE DID SLIP UP OUT OF HIS GRASP
AND TOOK THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE HASP

SHE WAS FREE TO WALK THE NIGHT
HER WEDDING VAIL TO MASK THE FRIGHT

TO HIS SIDE SHE DID FLEE
TO ONLY FIND SHE WAS NOT FREE

FOR ON THIS NIGHT HE TOOK HER LIFE
THE DEVIL ONLY LEFT A BLOODY KNIFE

SO ONLY A GHOST WAS SHE NOW
BARELY BRUSHING HER LOVERS BROW

A SHIVER RUSHED DOWN HIS SPINE
THE TEARS ON HIS CHEEK SO VERY FINE

HER GHOSTLY LIPS BRUSHED HIS SO SWEET
ONCE AGAIN THE LOVERS DID MEET

IN HER HASTE SHE DID NOT REALIZE
HER LOVE HAD ALSO MET HIS DEMISE

BOTH LIVES WERE TAKEN ON THAT FATEFUL DAY
WHEN THE DEVIL CAME TO THEM TO PLAY

TOGETHER AGAIN THE LOVERS FLY
TO THERE RIGHTFUL PLACE IN THE SKY

TO WATCH OVER ALL LOVERS TODAY
AND KEEP THE DEVIL AT BAY

All this from a mere image.. amazing indeed... I loved this write.. wickedly so.. for we all dance with the devil at some point..as well as wonder if we will ever exscape his grasp... it has a wonderful flow and tone to it.. the imagery you set up as the back drop is rich and deep and plays well with it's content.. I always love when you envoke your imagination.. it's always fun to see you in your true form... Poetry is but just a vessle of your true talent my sweet Sherrie... that in which very few of us see... the real you cries for the recognition.. and just so you know I see and love you.. my deepest admiration lays at your feet... Lovely dear indeed!! XOXOXOx ~Shay

Current mood: Releaved

"A light among the ashes"

darkness dark gothic woman

"A light among the ashes"

A light among the ashes
Shining brighter
Then the all-consuming fire
Threatening a fragile tortured mind

Bruised
Consumed
overwhelmed

A mind destend to feel the depth of all souls
The pain of all who surround her
Her feelings are not all her own
She sees what no one else sees

Visions
Intrusions
Violations

She burns in an all-consuming sun
Bombarded by others emotions
Sometimes oblivious
Her mind so open and bare

Exposed
Vulnerable
Destined

H
er gift a torture
Empathic intrusions
Carving a bloody scar
Tell tale signs

Etched
Permanently
Visible

Then there is  light
Shining amongst the ashes
Beckoning to her weary mind
Dancing to see her smile

Gleeful
Jubilant
Soothing

She sees not only the dark

"Behind the darkness" and "We stand strong" a dedication to my Rob / Sir rockit
Category: Writing and Poetry

These two poems are dedicated to my wonderful Rob who touches my heart and soul as no other has!!!

I Love You Babe!!!

Photobucket

"Behind the darkness"

IN MY MINDS EYE WHAT DO I SEE
I SEE A LIFE THAT COULD BE

FILLED WITH LOVE AND HEART
A BEAUTY IN LIFE THAT AKIN TO ART

WITH BLACKNESS ALL AROUND ME
I SEE INSIDE WHAT COULD BE

A LIGHT BURIED IN THE EYES OF THE ONE I ADORE
THE ONE I WANT FOREVER MORE

AN OUT SIDE WHERE THE COLDNESS THRIVES
AN INSIDE WHERE THE HEART STILL SURVIVES

A SAD HEART THAT HAS SUFFERED SO MUCH
IT DOESN'T BELIEVE IN A REAL LOVES TOUCH

IT SEES DEMONS IN THE VAST DARKNESS
ON THESE THINGS IT MUST OBSESS

I SEE INSIDE PAST THE MOUNTAIN OF ROCK
I HAVE THE KEY TO THAT STRONG LOCK

THE DOOR THAT OPENS IN MY LOVES HEART
ONCE INSIDE I COULD NEVER DEPART

(C)Sherrie La Bute June 2008

Photobucket

"We stand strong"

I see the light in your eyes when the cold threatens to destroy me
I feel the warmth in an embrace only you can give
Ours souls touch in a bond eternally brightened by love everlasting
I am cocooned in the comfort hidden from all others eyes
Beneath the blackness forever shrouding your broken past
You have aloud me passage into the torment of your beating heart
As I have aloud, you passage in to my own suffering soul
We stand as a force against all the odds that threaten to destroy us
No storm to powerful to defeat, what we have made stand strong

a poem written by my little girl "The Princesses Bunny"
Category: Writing and Poetry

"The Princesses Bunny"

The most wonderful thing happend the other day. My little girl (she is just 5 years old) came up and asked me what I was doing and I told her I was reading poetry (of course one of my wonderful poets) she said to me "mommy I want to write a poem" can you emagine my mad dash to bring up somthing to write on!! (ended up writing it in an email to rob). I did the best I could not to miss a single line and write it just as she dictated it to me. My little beauty is a fast talker. I am so very proud of her. Below is my beautiful Salena Marie and her brillient little poem.....

"The Princesses Bunnie"

Funny bunny
He has ears
and a mouth
and a tail

He has feet
and boots

His ears are pretty and there pink
He's got a jacket with his tummy and a bow

A pink funny bunny
Not a yellow funny bunny
Funny bunnies eats carrots
and real bunnies eat carrots too

"Grandma Colored"

a tribute and a poem

All the time I was growing up and untill my grandmother had her stroke I can always remember her with her coloring books and crayons she loved them so very much. She taught all of her Grandchildren to color it is a memory that I and my siblings will always cherish. My grandmother left us in 2003 she lived long enough to hold my daughter wich I  will always thank God for. my Granmother is in heaven now but I believe she is our Guardian Angel and looks out for us. This is my tribute to her beautiful soul.
