2:01 AM - It Works The Other Way Too

The TV was on the other day, kind of in the background as it usually is. There was a talk show on. I'm pretty sure it was Maury Povich. Anyway, it was one of those "I was a geek/was ugly/kids hated me in school but look at me now!" shows.
I find those sort of Ironic (I guess?) because those people usually have stuff done (and sometimes a lot) cosmetically to themselves. It's not like they were just late bloomers. But anyway, that isn't the point. The point is, it works in reverse too.
A few years ago, I ran into some guy that I went to Jr. High School with. Now, back then, I thought he was cute and I def. had a little crush. (And it was scary to me that the day I first ran into him, he remembered my full name and what classes we had together lol). I saw him again a few months ago (hey, he works in my bank!) All I can say is, what was adorable in 9th grade, didn't grow up to be a hunk! lol (I must make a note here that he wasn't hideous or anything, just not what I would have thought he'd grow up to look like.)
So, those shows always tell you to be nice to the geeks and ugly people (Not cause it's the right way to treat people, but because they may grow up to be hott and you might regret it). They should tell you to remember the opposite too: Someone you go to school with that you think is hott shit, may grow up to be ugly! (or atleast not what you would expect).
4:03 PM - Human Error

You're always warned about Identity Theft, and ways to prevent it. They also warn you against fraud and scams, etc. But they don't tell you to watch out for people!
So the other day my mom logs in to check her balance on this one account. She said she'd used her atm card a few times and wanted to see how much was in there. It came up saying she was over 300 dollars in the hole. Well, she did some back tracking and contacted the bank and such after wondering how she might have fucked up or who might have access to her account numbers, and all sorts of things.
The bank told her if she hadn't caught this, it might have been a week or more before the system did. So what happened? Some woman made a purchase in one of CU's bookstores for some gift cards. Apparently, the person/cashier got the number right the first time, and was off the 2nd and 3rd time, by one number. Being off by one number charged mom's account for $320.00.
The bank realizes it's a mistake and is covering bounced checks and such, but it's still pretty annoying. They put a stop on the account so now she has to wait up to a week to get the new card. Also, because there is no account (it's sort of in limbo) the store has no where to refund the money to. Not to mention the missed work trying to fix it all and the rude phone calls with the people at the campus bookstore. She has a new account number that essentially SHOULD work, but she flat out told the woman on the phone she wasn't comfortable giving them the number (and I can't say that I blame her lol).
I'd tell you to watch out for humans and human error, but there isn't much you can do about this sort of thing, other than don't shop in that bookstore!
I don't know if there is such a thing as Karma, but I always hope there is. Some people really do deserve that proverbial "dose of their own medicine."
This isn't one of my usual random blogs about some thought I had. This is specific. I was going to bulletin it to make sure the person it was directed at saw it, but it just didn't feel right. Besides, knowing this particular individual, it wouldn't do any good anyway.
I don't think I need to go into specifics about it. I think I can say what I need to say in pretty vague terms and the point will get across. I know a lot of people that read this will do so and have a feeling of "huh?" That's a good thing. That means it is in absolutely no way directed at you.
So, what brings up Karma? Well, someone recently did something "wrong" and wasn't able to cover it up/convince other people involved that they hadn't. Rather than admit the wrong-doing, the person brought up Karma, and it was meant as a threat. (Unfortunately, this person's idea of Karma isn't quite right.)
Now, here is the part that I think that person needs to see (which was why it was going to be bulletined. I think part of me is hoping Karma's friend Fate steps in and leads the person here to see it anyway). When you threaten someone with something like that, you need to remember that it applies to you too. You should also remember the people you piss off and the toes you step on. There are some other concepts too, such as Loyalty and Family... things you also don't want to mess with.
I should add that this story doesn't have anything to do with me. I do know the person that did the wrong(s) and the person/people they were done to, but that is as far as my part of the story goes. However, if the need for "Karma" by your definitions comes into play, esp. given the circumstances, i have no qualms about making it my business too.

It used to be, whenever I was bored, I’d log into MySpace. But here lately, bored or not, I’ve seriously neglected it. That may (or may not) continue to happen, but last night I thought I’d change that.
Ofcourse, I was up so late there was no one around lol so I looked at lots of photos, read a few blogs, etc. Then I decided mine needed a change. I’m always changing desktops and avatars too. It lets me be creative without having to actually DO anything
Anyway, that was the first update: A new layout. I found one I liked, but it wasn’t loading correctly. Normally I use a generator and make my own, but I liked this one a lot. So I looked to see what else she had and found one I liked even more. (Thank you Muriel!). I changed a few words - and I literally mean just a few words - in my profile too. I pretty much like what it says, so even though I always think of more, I don’t want to have a novel for a profile, so I leave it alone.
After looking at so many photos, I decided that was going to be next. Not my actual Myspace photo album thingies. I didn’t add any pix to that (yet). But I did add (and delete) some from the Slide show. So if you’ve never sat and watched that... You should! It’s got lots of great pix in there of lots of great people (and a few fur friends).
I still need to add a new song or two. I’d delete some but... I like the ones that are there! They are there for a reason, so they will most likely stay. I’m too tired to think about that right now. I do have one song stuck in my head, but I’m afraid that it would scare more people away than it would attract lol
My manner of posting (bulletins) is different now too. I haven’t changed any, and I don’t have anything to hide. I still say, if you want to know, Ask! But, aside from some family members that probably DON’T want to know some things, but in the past could read at their own risk, I now have several people under the age of 15 that have access to my stuff, and I feel morally obligated to keep it clean. Even though the act of not logging into Myspace isn’t a big deal, I do feel bad about the lack of contact that leaves with some people. I know most of those people have other ways in which we can communicate, but still... I don’t want anyone to feel like I don’t love them! ’Cause you know I do!
