Whaddup.. we've been getting a few messages regarding gigs and other stuff so here an update to let you know what we're up to...
We've been shacked up in Metal Kegs Bobby's gaff penning some smash hits since we last played Liverpool in early December and haven't step foot out of Preston since! It's doing the trick though, we've already got 4 new tracks up to standard and demo'd and hope to unleash them soon.
We'll be writing and recording for at least another month but once we send out the bat signal and get back on it, we'll get back on it!! so keep your eyes peeled on the gig listing for the spring time and make your way down to the gigs to hear the first picking of new material.
hope this is of help to you if you've been waiting anxiously for some news! snips of new tunes and ideas will be flying all over the place on this site so keep checking back regualry to hear new tunes.
...and cheers to everyone who got a copy of the limited Walking Disaster 7". got some great reviews and good radio play as well as a bit of tv, we're well pleased with the first release on the Scattergraph label. also there was a 7" review in the December issue of Fact, so we've fulfilled at least one life time ambition.
Hello everyone... the waiting is over! New double A-side Walking Disaster/La Musique hits record shop shelves on October 22nd
VINYL 7": A. WALKING DISASTER AA. LA MUSIQUE
DIGITAL: 1. WALKING DISASTER 2. LA MUSIQUE 3. WALKING DISASTER (ACOUSTIC)
Available on limited 7" and digital, the first 300 hard copies come in stamped, wrapped brown paper bags.. straight outta the slums! These special copies will only be available exclusively from Pure Groove Records, London. If you can't get down to the shop don't panic! you can order from their online store... puregroove.co.uk
The digital package comes complete with an acoustic version of Walking Disaster.. free when you buy both tracks. More details of the digital bundle next week.
Check out the new video for the single on our profile. Directed by the one and only Neil Rostance, it was filmed at two locations.. a house party in Fallowfield Manchester, and the Korova in Liverpool. The legend at the houseparty who was waving the empty bottle of wine and dancing like a crazy mother licker needs to make himself known immediately!
To coincide with the release we have a number of live dates throughout October and November, check out the gig listings for more info.
Hey there! we are getting really slack these days with the updates but have no fear, we are just locked away creating the next masterpiece!
Recently returned from some pretty outrageous gigs in Germany... we seem to be flying over there every week these days. The highlight has got to be the sweet shop in the Atomic Cafe, Munich. I think more clubs should take this idea on board... 1 pint of cola bottles for 1 Euro!! although if you want to sleep, don't mix with vodka redbull..
We're off to London next week to get two new tracks down in a proper studio. This could go horribly wrong as the 3 of us are only used to being crammed in my tiny back bedroom hunched around a computer. Jay Reynolds will be at the helm so we're in good hands. We have about 7 new tracks that are recorded to demo standard. They are sounding mega, really housey!
We have already played a couple of newys at the recent gigs but if you want to hear more then the gigs this week are a good chance for you to hear some of the new stuff....
THU 7 JUNE - Manchester, Academy 3 (Pangea) FRI 8 JUNE - Liverpool, Korova
Oh yeh, if you'd like to hear another track from On The Beat, 'Busy Hands', then head over to www.thekbc.net. It's a break from the norm, a really chilled out track. You'll like it if your into that sort of shiznay...

Those crazy tykes The Whip have their fingers in several 'pies' these days. Check out their new site featuring remixes for Emblem and K..k...B..b...C..c..c..c..c!
On the 22nd May i'm running the London Marathon for charity Little Sister's of the Poor, Preston. If anyone would like to sponsor me for the run please email me with the amount in britsih sterling and your contact details to thekbc@hotmail.co.uk. Many thanks! (this all hinges on me making it to the end of the beast)
It's gonna be a task! For some reason i'm entered into the fastest stream on race day (think it's because i made up a ridiculously rast time on the application time.. whoops...), so watch out for the boy panting heavily at the rear of the pelaton.. Anyone familiar with retro rags in Preston will be pleased to know that in preparation for the big day I bought some 1970's Adidas jogging shorts, a perishing jogging vest which has clearly has too much previous use and a matching arm and head sweatband combination pack.
I've been out for several training jogs and it seems to me that the average lay man on the street doesn't understand the marathon or running in general. Lots of people with verbal diarrhoea have been taunting me with cries of "run forrest run!" or "whey!" or "you stupid bastard, why you running!?". You son of a mothers! Right well think i've got about 4weeks and alittle bit till race day. I'm gonna take this marathon down.. mile by mile...oh yeah!
I've also thought of dressing up and running round as a pepperami but the harness gave me chaffing and it's obscured vision meant i ran into a letter box on a training run.

Check out these sneaky pics taken on the set of our new video for Poisonous Emblem...
Legendary short film producer Dave Aspinall was in command, no beard yet, but one day he hopes to grow a full on Spielberg. Check out his short films at myspace.com/aspinallsfilms
Here Alex is hugging the book store owner. This wasn't part of the video, it was just something he liked to do between filming to help keep his nerves at bay.
Here we are doing our bit in some massive church in Leeds last night, dressed in the full attire.
Check out the video clip below from the book shop scenes. The other Dave built this set in the front room of his flat...
The whole thing should be completed sometime next week and we'll stream it from our site and this very myspace site. Keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime take it easy, Jim, Mic, Ric.
