Home stretch!
Current mood: gallant
As you can imagine, Steely Dan was the shit! The venue was half indoor, half outdoor and you could see the sun set behind the Philadelphia skyline while the opener warmed up the crowd. Pretty sweet. We spent the next day walking around Philly, eating cheese steaks and rapping the Fresh Prince theme song. Awesome city, tons of history, and really hot there too. New York was awesome! Driving our huge van in and out of Manhattan was sketchy, but we made it without a scratch. All three shows were in Manhattan, but we got a chance to see the Bronx and Queens. Thought we were seeing some big cities while we were in Austin, Atlanta and Philly, but NYC is jaw-dropping huge. Thanks to Megan, Ellie, Jake and Maria for being our tour guides. The shows went really well and I can't wait to get back to that city. Spent Ephraim's 26th birthday in Connecticut, partying and eating like it was our last day on earth. Close call with the police during his fireworks show, but everything worked out A-OK. The trip back to California has been much quicker than the way out. From NY we drove all the way to Arkansas in three days, then Kansas, then Nebraska. All three shows went really well, and that southern hospitality was nice to re-visit. The venues and staff have been nothing short of awesome this entire trip and have exceeded our expectations, thanks for that! After Nebraska we've spent a few days in Colorado, where we are currently. There's a small break between shows which gave Pakes a chance to make it to his family reunion in Winter Park, Ephraim and Dustin visited Zack Pearson in Denver, and Wyatt and Trev stayed with Wyatt's sister in Fort Collins. Colorado is a great place, and the further west we get, the more similar the people are to Californians. Today we head north to Wyoming and then into Montana. Less than two weeks before we make it home! Love, Siko Boys

Millions of peaches!
Current mood: Hungry
Holy shit we need to write more blogs. The last one left off in San Angelo, TX, now we're in North Carolina.....so let's fill in the gaps!
After exiting the great state of Texas, we headed into Slidell, Louisiana to party with our buddy Shaw and his wife, Heidi for a few days. We picked up Rory George and Colby Bridges in Austin and for 2 weeks were riding 7 strong. Shaw's house was the shit.....check it out in our photos (Shaw has good ones on his page tambien). Got a chance to head into New Orleans for a day, got drunk, ate all the nasty shit you can only find there. Fun times!
Next we headed into Mississippi to Oxford, the town that time forgot. That sweet little spot is home to Ole Miss and overflowing with beautiful women and boys in polo shirts. We played 2 nights, the second being Saturday.....had to end our set at midnight when the bar closed....selling booze on Sunday is illegal there. No sunday fun-day.
Few days later we played in Pascagoula, then headed into Alabama to Tuscaloosa. Did some great camping along the Alabama river. Never did see any gators, but we did see some real backwoods hicks and had some delicious nectarines and peaches. Millions of peaches, peaches for me.
Atlanta was next and we played with the most kick-ass cover band you'll ever see called Cult Radio. Well, Triple Threat of SLO rules, but these guys went over the top with everything 80s. Killer dope rad. From there we did more camping in Virginia and played Harrisonburg and Williamsburg and drove through dozens of other Burgs. One show got cancelled in Greenville, North Carolina due to fecal matter contamination of city water....all the bars closed. Unstoked!
Currently we're at Cara and Brody's house in North Carolina. We've got a gig here tonight, then tomorrow we have to haul ass to New Jersey to catch Steely Dan (thanks Kaelyn and Lindsey!). Then we've hit the halfway point when we get to the big apple.
Besides the shows, we've been partying sufficiently, eating lots of Mexican food (it's good everywhere, not just California), playing tourist and driving, driving, driving. Huge thanks to all the nice people who have helped us along the way, there's too many to mention. Hi to everyone back home, we miss you and love you!
Love,
The Siko Boys

Fantastic Times (Tour Journal Number Two)
Current mood: artistic
Category: News and Politics
Where to begin!! Havasu ended up great! We landed a show at our hotel on the last sunday of our stay and rocked a huge pool party! We have to thank Randy and Barbie at Gallagher's again for being such nice, hospitable people to us.
Mesa, AZ...a huge thanks to Jay at the Goathead and to Ricardo and Jesse for rocking it harder than anyone we've ever seen and for letting us stay at their pad. There are some photos of Camelback Mountain which is a hike we went on during our stay.
Flagstaff, AZ. For anyone who loves SLO as much as we do, visit Flagstaff. It's an artsy little college mountain town. The show at Mia's was great. Duncan, the bartender found out how much we loved Jameson and acted accordingly. Everyone at the show was very receptive of our sound.
Albuquerque, NM. Big thanks to Pat pennyjar's family for having us stay at their beautiful home. Vicki and Tracy were gracious hosts to us. The show at Ralli's 4th St. Pub was awesome. We played with three other local bands and we got the crowd up and dancing, Midnight 30 did a great job as well!!! Much props to Joe for having us out at Ralli's. The next night we played Misty's Hideaway. Shawna, the bartender, Brian, the doorman, and Marcus, the soundman were all wonderful people to hang with. The stage and sound were great as was the audience response, we got 'em grooving again. A foosball championship ensued after our set to the wonderful sounds and beautiful harmonies of the Alburquerque based rock quartet, Frostbite. Check 'em out! Ysidro and his brother rock vocal harmonies like you've never heard!!!
On our first day off in a while (Sunday)...we camped in a little spot in New Mexico called ruidoso. There's a racetrack, a casino, a kick-ass miniramp, and great little RV camp run by Neil, the nicest no-bullshit cowboy you'll ever meet. I have never jammed so many acoustic campfire tunes in my life. Guitar teaching for trev and pakes has turned them into human songbooks. Honestly, everything from Pink Floyd to Madonna, they've got it (I wasn't a fan of the madonna..haha)!
Currently we rest our little heads in the town of San Angelo, TX. The Hymbacker family has given us a great little spot to sleep and hang until our show on Thursday at the Oasis. Last night we partied at a spot called the Steel Penny Pub and landed a slot tonight at their open mic night. The place reminds me a lot of the frog and peach, so if you're ever down here, check it!!! Paul from the San Angelo Times wrote a great article on us...click on the link to read http://gosanangelo.com/news/2008/may/30/kings-of-the-road/?printer=1/ Huge thanks to Paul, Jen for the wonderful spaghetti meal, and my cousin Ben for hooking it all up!
So that's it for now, obviously this is the PG-15 version of what's been happening on our great journey. So if you know us well enough to have our numbers, give us a call and we'll give you the dirty lowdown truth hahah. Thank you all for helping us out, coming to our shows and rocking out. You've made this possible and we're taking San Luis Obispo County on stage with us every night. Rock on dudes!!!

The Brown Note (Tour Blog Number one!)
Current mood: adventurous
Category: Dreams and the Supernatural
Friends,
Life on the road baby! We're 2 shows in so far, both have been a blast! ..:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Bakersfield showed us all kinds of loveā¦.one young lady was so enthused that she lost it in her pants. That's no dramatization either, it was disgusting and awesome in one shitty moment. Professional musicians refer to that as the brown note. The venue, Fishlips, had a menu that lived up to its reputation. That's one to hit up next time you're in Bako. Our brother's from Seed put on a great show and Drew (the owner) pours great Jack and Cokes with a heavy hand!!!
..:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Lake Havasu is all that it's been cracked up to be, even though the weather was grey yesterday. Gallagher's is a sweet little spot run by Randy, the nicest Arizona cowboy you'd ever hope to meet. We've got our second show there tonight, and we're hoping to turn it out even bigger. Currently we're jamming acoustic blues in the hotel room and boiling 2 dozen eggs. Tom Guile (aka Dustin) can blow a mean harp!
If you're in Mesa, Arizona Wednesday, come out and show some love! The sun just poked it's head out and it's off to the pool for now!! We love you SLO County!!!
Love,
Siko Boys

Words before the tour PT2
Category: Jobs, Work, Careers
Today we:
clean our apartments.
move into storage units
and pack our life into small blue boxes
Tomorrow we play the first show on the tour! Our first stop is the far off land of Bakersfield. Then we proceed to see which southern state is really the hottest. I'm thinking Texas wins the dry heat contest. Then Luisiana wins the humidity contest. We will have to see.
A big thank you to everyone who has helped us out! Recently we have recieved contributions for hotel rooms (Thanks John.) We also got some food for the road (TLB, Mr. and Mrs. Pakes.) And some kind folks have helped us with gas (Andy, Patricia.) Not only that, but there is a nice team of people helping us from the road (Kaelyn, The Sommers.) Thank you! Thank you!!
We'll keep in touch via blog,
SIKO

Words before the tour
Current mood: awake
Category: Dr. DerryBerry Dreams and the Supernatural
We have a little over a month before we head out on a most excellent adventure! In the that time span, we are going to play the hell out of this county. Next show up on the list is the 420 party at DownTown Brew (SLO.) I am not exactly sure what "420" means...but I think it has something to do with skunks. And just before we leave, we are playing 5-17 and 5-18. Come on out to O'Reilly's on the 17th and celebrate my birthday with me. Then we have an all ages show the very next day. Make sure to bring your grandpa and a newborn to that one (to really take advantage of the all age thing.)
Hell yes,
Pakes

THE NEW CD IS GOING TO BE OUT IN FEB.!!!!!
The cd is done my friends!! We finished it up and sent it out to get packaged. It is, dare I say, THE BEST MUSIC EVER FRICKEN' PLAYED!...well, nevermind....that title still belongs to Meatloaf. But it is pretty good (and almost available.) It will be in the local cd stores very soon. And, of course, you can pick it up at our cd release party. That would be the show at DownTown Brew (SLO) on the day of the leap.
And for all you under-age buddies of ours: There might just be a suprise show for you sometime in the near future. Oh yes, the very near future. Like, when you all turn 21! Ha Ha Ha. I am just joking with you. It will be way sooner than that.
Your BFF LOL ;) @~}~~~

BOO YA!
Category: Music
We finished tracking the album last night! For those not familiar with the process, recording an album involves a few steps: Tracking, mixing, mastering, and finally, pressing the cd.
We have successfully completed the first step. We have played, sang and smacked everything that is going to be on the album (mostly.) So the music is not all that far away from your ears...and I think it's going to tickle them quite nicely.
This album is going to be the next Dance Party. There are plenty of rocking moments, distorted guitars and crash cymbals. But this album is meant to gets your bootys shaken'. And that is why we are choosing the fantastic month of February to release it. There is no better time to shake that ass! Seriously...it's a good way to keep warm.
