the ballerina ballroom of cinema dreams

there is heaven,and there is the ballerina ballroom dream world which might have resembled heaven,if of course it really was up there in dreamworld/so my friends marc and the tilda one made all our lives a lot richer just by giving us the ballerina dream which seems to have been missing in our lives/this was a festival of rare films,homemade cakes/and delightful new friends/who i know ill know know for years to come/the midnight swim will go down in local history as a great film event that surely venice and cannes will now have to adopt/trampolines must now be required at all film festivals,and if possible large marching bands will assemble and play for the audience every night/

this spring ive been happily recording the build of mr frank gehry's summer pavilion in kensington gardens/i just missed the first few layout pegs being knocked into the ground,but managed to catch no 21,and 35 afterwards.these marking pegs are hammered into the turf to start laying out the plans for the build/lots of string,and wooden pegs/then as the build progressed i just kept listening,editing,and generally doing alot of nothing very much // the building grew // my random recordings got longer and almost impossible to manage // i thank the staff and builders who came from far away // its just been fun //

TURNING THE SCORE

its a bit of a dream job,turning a well thumbed score,sitting next to a gifted player,who rarely needs me much,but still i get a smile and slight nod,and thats when,even if im lost i do in fact have to turn the page,and smooth it down again,silently,without attracting attention,but nevertheless doing the job well,and silently,yes,..i get to be close to someone playing and concentrating so hard,but lost also in the fluidity of the music and the passion these fingers generate.the years of practise now put to use for a few hours or so in the north of england in a mansion house no less. i get to see the audience,close range,some eyes closed in a sonic vision of their own,some watching ,amazed,some even staring somewhere,but nowhere,just lost in the sounds from the player.it really is a pleasure you know and i feel and smile to myself inside and think,i must keep following the score,loving this moment,because it is a rare thing you know. those marks on the page are magical when read by the player on my left. she plays a fine 18th century instrument and here name is natalie clein.bit of a dream job you know,.hmmmmm sft

sexstuff and rooms

i was just a birthday thing and it rained all day/hard/but i was given a sweet present by sir j thirwell/he asked me to play at st giles in the field,in soho/i had a piano and computer/yum/visit the church if you can,and imagine it surrounded by fields/wonderfull example of mr c wrens work too/i used to live above the shaftsbury theatre when i was 14 and the musical hair was on/grape st/there were sexy words in some of the songs and the cast all stripped of during the show/there are some wonderfull songs in there/dana gillespie and alex harvey were in the cast/
i was woken by a small lady who sweetly sang happy bday to me very quietly and breathy/beat m monroe by miles/that was th only present i needed really/so now im in my 53rd year and im working with gareth jones who is also this young age/both his assistant and my artist have been off sick for the past two days/the young just dont seem to have the strenght these days/twas such fun to see mr j thirwell too by the way/and matt/dave/andrea/muters paul and zoe/

kurt vonneguts autograph

this man ,more than any other writer shaped my small fragile twisted mind.he was a genius.so it goes.
i went to get his autograph at a london book signing years ago now,maybe Galapagos,i think.
he refused to sign,but drew his wonderfull picture of an asshole.
like a little star,a small kiss blown,a starfish asshole.
ice 9,its temping isnt it to name an album after this,but i'll try and resist,and be a little more suble.
read all his books and essays,enjoy his art.oddly enough i nearly bought one of his t shirts from his own website a few months ago,but resisted,so it goes,eh.
