10/7/07-New Simon Thunder Music Online Release Date and "Fair Use" as defined by Federal law!

Thanks for reading my posted bulletin today. All of my new music will be made for sale on www.myspace.com/simonthunder through snocap on or before November 4th, 2007 and through other online locations. Those tracks made for a download fee will be mixed with eq and a lot higher professional fully mastered sound quality then the very low bit unmixed samples currently available and playing now. In store release dates will be after the first of the year in 2008. In the meantime, if you cannot afford the price of the download or don't mind the poor sound quality of the original very realistic samples at the various myspace locations described in my blogs then by all means continue listening to them. I will leave them posted for a while since I realize some fans or listeners may be in my income bracket and have to rely on using the Internet at the library. If you would like to own them then you are welcome to purchase them and help support my artistic and philanthropic endeavors now and in the future. If you do this, you will be able to take the songs with you wherever you may be to comfort, brighten, and enlighten your day with the same hope and therapeutic undertanding my lyrical and musical artistry afforded me in times of need. What is considered "fair use"?

The "fair use" doctrine of federal law is rather complicated. Basically, "fair use" limits the extent of the property interest granted to a copyright holder. For example, "fair use" might allow individuals to quote from copyrighted material when the quoted excerpt is used for teaching, research, news reporting, comment, criticism or parody.
There are some limitations. Whether the courts will allow you to reproduce, distribute, adapt, display and/or perform copyrighted works depends upon four factors: (i) the nature of the use (commercial purposes, nonprofit, educational); (ii) the length of the excerpt; (iii) how distinctive the original work is; and (iv) how the use will impact the market for the original work. Generally speaking, one is not allowed to take the "value" of a song without permission, and sometimes that value is found even in a three-second clip. When in doubt, it is always wise to check with the copyright owner, because in many cases even a small clip of a song may not be "fair use." Contrary to popular belief, there is no 30-second exception to copyright law nor is there any exception for music sampling.

August 4th, 2007 - Greetings and salutations Thunder fans: Samples of the new songs with some new photos will be posted by midnight August 8th, 2007. The day of Thunder is quickly approaching. May 23, 2007 Update: New music samples from Simon Thunder will be available very soon. The New CD Titled " " will be out in stores and available online following the release of the unmixed naked samples and the release of the mixed/mastered versions on sale on the Internet with Poetic Storied Lyrics from this Epic 17 Song Master Feast made available to view!!! Radio Airplay will be very selective and purposeful based on the integrity of certain stations that don't play music for pay or sexual perversity and discoloration or tainting of artistic integrity. Only certain songs with completely different versions of the songs will be made available regardless of the stations chosen. No interviews will be given to any magazines, newspapers or TV. August 8th, 2007 - update:

August 8th - This is an update for my fans and other interested parties. The new music, graphics, pictures, and  blog websites are currently be worked on and uploaded as we speak. Unfortunately, due to the volume and magnitude of this undertaking which will begin this evening and finally be completed with all 24 tracks of material graphics, pictures and blogging in place by August 16th at the very latest! Thanks! I appreciate your understanding and patience with me towards this endeavor recognizing that I am only one person working on this to make sure that it represents me as I see it. August 19, 2007 Update:

The original tracks of "Golden Orb" and "Atropos" from the 2001 recordings will be posted at www.myspace.com/hunteralexandr . "Hunter Alexandr" is just a nickname for me by some who know me.  Anyway, the unaltered and altered versions will be posted there, since some fans have written asking to still be able to hear them now and then. By August 23, 2007 at midnight Four New Songs from the Sessions for the Solo Acoustic CD Thirty-Seven and some other pictures will be loaded up to www.myspace.com/oxygendetonation . Some fans have also written asking about the walking cane in some pictures having not seen me with it before or at any shows. Please don't worry I am healthy and healed from low-grade tear in my knee. However, on these myspace profiles which I uses primarily for marketing and keeping in touch with fans. I have decided that to avoid the kinds of fans or people who like their world of music a little more sterile with less realism. I choose to give you my art in what I would consider its most raw form of presentation just as if you knew me in real life especially in my personal appearance. There will be more professional photographs of myself and coming band members on the main websites of www.simonthunder.net and www.oxygendetonation.net . I find it easier to appreciate life in its many forms. The strange and unique balance of an encounter with life and people in peak form the lows of the valley is extremely interesting and intriguing to me.

August 20, 2007 Update:

Some fans have informed me that the myspace.com links are stopping after playing a little bit of the music. I believe the reason for this is to prevent certain individuals from illegal download or recording of the artist work. All of my music and the sounds on my recordings are copyrighted and protected through the Library of Congress. However, some people do  not respect this and try to record the music as it is playing here on the links to use the protected works or sounds of the artist recording illegally because they have no talent or doubt in their own ability to come up with something truly original. The solution for my fans is to just press or click the play button again on the player and it will begin playing. Thanks! Enjoy! The true fan will read this and follow the instructions and listen. The unoriginal thief and heathen swine will not have read this and been impatient and moved on from myspace broadcast of my truly original sound.

I hope everyone "Somewhere" out there hanging in there. I write to those of you that I have known and to those yet to be known. The all the websites are currently functioning with just a few updates to them over the next month to come. There really is so much musical garbage out there that is pretty fake and slick to sedate you from reality. True freedom can only come through confrontation with what is really the truth. I mean, don't get me wrong I mean everything has its place and purpose in this dimension minefield. I will always applaud and support an artist making their art available in performance and presentation. It takes a lot to get up in front of people and do that and to do it honestly with no frills is even harder, especially if you are unable to deal with criticism that will inevitably come your way. For me, the point is that once you present it honestly and overcome that hurdle you really can do anything you want artistically and have the respect of others who will at least listen or check it out even if they don't particularly like or subscribe to your style or perspective creatively.

Some have asked recently for more information about me in recent emails that informed me that they like certain song or sounds they have heard at the previous links I provided. I will tell you and them that I am not in idolization of any other artist. In fact, if truth were known people like Kurt Cobain, Jeff Buckley, and like previous relics of music history would have been my musical peers and not influences, especially if you were to hear what I was doing musically around the time frame of 1992-1996. Perhaps, someday I will release that stuff. Ahead of its time and cutting edge would definitely be understatements for the sound and musical vision that was evolving from SimonThunder who I am (Yes, it is my real birth name and on my Birth Certificate!). The point really in bringing up these names is for the comparisons that people have drawn not in sound necessarily but more the influence of something new in talent and songwriting extrapolation and presentation as something "New" and differently influential that creates a change or departure from what has been reabsorbed back into the system. However, is anything really new though? I mean really, perhaps, we are just a race of people and civilizations with amnesia. Anyway, It has been stated many times that things come in 3's!!! Lately, I have begun to really embrace the concept and ability of truth telling and its untold benefits. Pretty miraculously healing if you ask me, especially when you practice it with yourself. By the way, I know that it appears that I am digressing, but trust me there is a certain circular logic and multi-dimensional awareness that is at work here. Here is the point where I tell you that I would most certainly be dead or worse (There are worse things then death!) like those individual Icons previously mentioned, except it was not free will decision for that fate to consume me or to court success in that way. Thankfully, I have lived to love and die "Another Day"! Dysfunctional, self-destructive, and death wishes in the form of risk filled action will eventually consume you given enough time. The buffering of True Agape Love is the only thing that can save and change the outcome of a life or childhood of suffering and pain. Learning to love ourselves in this way and receive from the benevolence of creation of all things and then impart this healing wherever we can and whenever we can is the only way bear the struggles and tribulations that you will face in this world of pain, sadness, and happiness, because believe me to some individuals it is backwards and happiness is scarier and more terrifying then freedom from the demonic hold of mental illness, depression, and wounds that have been inflicted upon them by other wounded souls. Finally, cling to what is good and run towards that which can save you and if you are currently lost then flee to the last place you found that light and strength to carry on. Above all things never lose hope faith in love and the power of the belief that things can change if you hang in there and plead your case with that which has existed since before the nothingness that created all things that currently exist. I am here now because of all that I have told you. I am proof that everyone has gifts and abilities and a purpose to fulfill. It can be whatever you want. Yes, there will be obstacles but let them define you not own you and enslave. So, you needn't idolize anyone. Everything and every human and everything in this universe are made up of Stardust. Anyone can be a Rock Star! We already are, all of us. (That is such a stupid term) Now, being a great human being. A person who loves and helps other who offers kindness instead of insults that is something to truly strive for, I think. As for people or music groups like the Beatles, Stones or Hendrix Give me a break, please are any of these people Ghandi, Mother Teresa, or even a doctor/medic of any kind. As far as I know, they never saved anyone's life. They and I are only artists who use musical instruments and verbal prose to entertain or give a perspective on certain realities or possibilities. We are only people who practiced and rehearsed and now play. There is always the possibility that something far greater than and indeed not finite like humanity, but in fact infinitely Awesome and spectacular that it vanishes all darkness and nothing impure can dwell in its sight. This can visit an individual for a divine purpose but you must be prepared to surrender all in humility, love, and devotion. My sincere and earnest prayer and meditation is that we all might be capable of this for the sake of all those who currently have no access to love, food, comfort, and opportunities that many of us currently take for granted. As for me, when I was surrounded in the darkness and in the present when it tries to come for me to consume I take my free will and choose and at times stumble but reach out to receive in the light even when it hurts so that I might share this brightness with others. It continues to be my choice. I am Simon Thunder and I am grateful to be alive. I am not an Island and I did not arrive at this destination on my own. I have had help on along the way in the spiritual realm and the physical realm of this life. I am grateful to those known and unknown who have been instrumental in my existence for better and worse. I forgive others and myself and offer my love, life, and humility in deepest sincere heartfelt warmth through my music and the inspiration that I receive from beyond this dimension to those who wish to listen. It has been my voice and my friend from a time when I was young and felt scared and all alone with no way or knowledge to truly impart my pain and reach out for help. August 30th, 2007 Update: Good Evening, Thunder/OD Clan.

I am writing to let you know that the www.oxygendetonation.net band site will be functioning at the end of this weekend. You can hear some music samples of the previously Unreleased Belltown, Seattle Rehearsals from a couple years ago. This will give you some idea of the difference in contrast from my Acoustic and Electrified sound. Pretty apparent, especially if you listen to the acoustic versions of "Pain" or "Night Train" acoustic versions against the full band electrified versions at www.myspace.com/oxygendetonation . These were recorded in the Rehearsal Space near 3rd & 4th on Blanchard Street that will show up on the coming music video and interview with only one microphone in the room. Also, for the purposes of easy downloading to computers with a just a Dialup connection the bit rate is very low. I hope you enjoy them!
