The Wicked Summer
So I awoke from a maddening dream so random and disturbing that I have no recollection of what transpired within the confines of Dreamland.
It happens alot lately, and I'm not sure why. But I DID wake with a sense of purpose. First on the menu is; write this blog.
Why? Not that anyone reads it, but it's there in case someone mistakenly clicks on the blog link!
Second item on the menu; I will - for no reason whatsoever - over the course of 2 days attempt to acoustically cover every Smashing Pumpkins song in my repertoire. Additionally, I will do my best to video record them. I will FURTHERMORE try to do a 1- or 2-take of two new songs we've been fiddling with. All acoustic. Nobody will care much, perhaps, but there will certainly be something to appeal to someone in all that music/noise.
We've/I've made promises recently that I've not been able to keep and for that I apologize no end, but the summer has been a long and arduous one in which I had no time to even pick up my guitars.
The delivery of the new music will be the big SORRY and HOPE YOU ENJOY. So I hope you enjoy. Check back in a few days.
Most truly,
- Roy

Damned lack of computing know-how!
Current mood: aggravated
So I yesterday I moved all the pictures around in to "albums" to fend off the beginnings of a clutter.
What happened? I looked at it once I had finished my job and reflected upon my neatness and computing genius.
Until today I looked at the pictures once more and discovered that I had unwittingly destroyed all the picture comments of the pictures that I moved!!
ARGH!
I'm very upset, and apologize to the people who took the time to write the comments.
Hmph! Myspace, bah!

... and the band keeps marching!
Current mood: calm
It has been, oh I don't know, an age-and-a-half since the last blog posting.
Well, it's no real problem seeing as nobody reads them But I thought I'd post a little general updater for the truly curious / bored readers.
Though we have plenty of songs recorded, none of them have had the vocals put in on account of our sole microphone being broken after a brief encounter with a sink full of water. The water won. But soon we will have more songs, and hopefully redo the horrendous vocals to Hope (Have I promised this before? Probably. Starting to sound like a broken record now...)
Furthermore, whilst before we happily played our gigs and were content with that, we've decided to try and attack some record companies with our humble music and see what can be made of it. Over the next few weeks we hope to demo our material through whatever means available to us, to somehow secure a contract. Wish us luck
We have 2 (possibly 3) relatively big shows coming up in the next month, and perhaps THIS time we will get good video of it! We've begun rehearsing already and we're excited to be back at it once again.
Additionally, I will be posting pictures of our guitars over the next few days, and any guitar tweaking fans are welcome to comment, ask questions, send messages, etc. Sirene can teach you all how to build a a very decent guitar / bass at the lowest of costs! It's our finest skill
Well, enough for now. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend, and week thereafter, and thanks for reading this far, LoL!
Sincerely,
- Roy

A resurrection?
Current mood: creative
No, we're not Jesus. At least I don't think we are.
Work has begun anew on fresh material with SLIGHTLY better equipment and resources, so perhaps over the following few weeks you will get to see new and fantastic songs appear on our player.
I use the term "you" not in the collective sense, but rather in the singular sense, as I doubt any more than one person will read this ;)
Talk to you later!

SHOW RECAP: The Show at Iceberg
Current mood: bitchy
Hello everyone,
Unfortunately we've had a little run of bad luck in Portugal recently, and our last bit of misfortune played out last night with our show at Iceberg;
First, Roy had allergies which gave him a stuffy nose and a very flat voice, and then the sound check didn't go very well so all the different instruments were at very different volumes. And finally, our camera ran out of batteries so we couldn't even post the whole, BAD show for you guys to watch. Maybe even have a laugh at it ;)
It's alright, and we won't let any bad luck get us down. We'll keep trying, and we'll keep pushing forward.
New songs to come soon (approx 2-3 weeks), which will be posted here on Myspace the moment they're completed. They're more dirty rock than what we have posted here already, so some may enjoy it more :P
Until then,
- Dom, Mike and Roy

Small Hop Across A Large Pond
Current mood: confused
Hello folks,
It's been a long, long time. And with good reason; Sirene are now located in Lisbon, Portugal.
Don't ask! Just accept it, hehe.
If anyone even happens upon this post, we'll be surprised.
We're now in the third world - what more could one want for inspiration than that?

Love for the Fat Man in the Red Suit
Current mood: calm
Good evening,
Christmas is upon us and a New Year looms.
Sirene hopes that everyone gets what they needed, and failing that, what you all wanted.
May your family gatherings be blissful, may your loved ones be content, and may you all take this small break to relax and for just this one moment in time kick up your weary heels and worry about nothing.
And may the next year bring you all good grades and record contracts - wait, perhaps that's for us.
No matter.
Merrily,
- Roy, Dom and Mike

A MUST-READ!
Current mood: chipper
I happened upon this little nugget whilst browsing through Billy Corgan's Myspace page;
------
Ok, I haven't commented here in forever, but I MUST share this rant with everyone...
What I saw tonight while watching the Billboard Music Awards disgusted me beyond telling. I cannot be-LIEVE this is where music is heading. Jesus Tap-Dancin' Christ!
Every commercial was a cell phone ad featuring the Artist of the Minute, the audience was shown waving their fucking cell phones in the air like lighters while L.L. Cool Jay rambled on about ringtones. Every single fucking "artist" performing up there looked the same with their rap and their identical message and their identical looks, all the way down to the huge-ass medallions swinging on 10-foot-long chains...Ashlee Simpson was laughable as always, and R. Kelly (noted kiddie porn collector) was featured doing a number by a pool full of sexy, scantily-clad chicks, rapping about sex, sex, sex...
With the exception of a few decent bands like Green Day and the Tom Petty Century award thing, the Billboards get worse every year. Not even worth watching if this is how music is being represented. Shit, let's all go ahead and reward whoever can be the most shallow, overplayed, talentless, plastic piece of commercialized art in America.
In a nutshell--thank you, Billy, for giving us a much-needed reality check and dose of music with REAL meaning!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Fourth Leg
Current mood: horny
So yet another brief contribution to the blog side of this whoring of bad garage bands on Myspace;
Untitled came out quite well, as far as we can tell. We've begun having technical difficulties with our recording equipment that we purchased at an army surplus store specializing in World War I paraphenalia. Sadly, we've not been able to locate any veterans who can repair said equipment as we've been rather busy in other important areas.
Fear not, though, for we still forge ahead! There is a new song in the pipe-line, entitled "The Ambivalent Boy", which we intend to have in decent shape by mid-late December. Feels like a real hum-dinger, this one, so keep your eyes peeled and your ears to the ground for it. Trust me, it will be worth it.
Until then, we hope to continue whoring ourselves out to more and more people who may yet come to enjoy the odd stylings of our music.
Thank you,
- Roy
